My experience at Amazing Savings today was far from Amazing. I purchased a glass beverage dispenser 3 days ago on Sunday October 14th. I didn’t have a chance to fill it until yesterday. It started to leak a lot at the spigot the second I poured cold tea into it. I carefully poured the tea back out, tightened the spigot(not too tightly though, just like the instructions said) and poured the tea back in. It was still leaking ever so slightly, so I assumed it was defective. I thoroughly cleaned out the dispenser and dried it completely over night before putting it back in the box, exactly the way it came. I did notice that the bottom of the glass was scratched up, as though it had been used and put on a cement surface. I bought another, much better made beverage dispenser at a different store, with a metal spigot as opposed to cheap plastic like the one from Amazing Savings. It was more than the $ 15 I originally paid, but at least it worked. Today, I looked everywhere for the receipt before leaving to make the return, and couldn’t find it anywhere, but knew(thought I knew) that I could at least return it for store credit; I didn’t expect my money back without a receipt. Well, when I got to the store and explained to the cashier exactly what happened, instead of saying«no problem», like anyone would expect, she tells me that she needs to put water in it to see if it really is leaking. I have never heard of a store doing something like that, but I said ok and went to shop for items to exchange it for. After returning to the cashier, the manager(I’m assuming it was the manager, he was a heavy set guy with a yamacha) told me, it’s not leaking and since it’s «used», and you have no receipt, that nope, sorry, can’t exchange it. Oh, and he says, since you already bought something else then you are not really trying to return this because it is leaking, but because you don’t need it anymore. What’s the difference? He very stubbornly refused to accommodate me, claiming that he can’t resell a used item. Unless I can find the receipt. SO… if I found the receipt, then you CAN take back and resell a «used» item? This makes no sense. Way to make a loyal customer unhappy and lose them for future business Amazing Savings. I absolutely would not recommend the store on Avenue M to anyone, and would advise anyone I know of not shopping there because of their very poor business ethics. The $ 15 is clearly more important to this guy than his customers.
