Bought a Groupon for a facial. Poor choice. The facial was $ 75 for apparently a $ 190 value. Midway through the facial the girl tried to upswell me on a $ 25 moisturizing mask. I get that upselling is a business move, but what kind of $ 190 facial doesn’t include a moisturizing aspect? The service was supposed to be an hour, ended up being about 45 minutes. On my way out the girl who did the facial walked me out and tried upselling me on a package of products. Then the woman cashing me out tried to sell me the same products, a package facial deal, a deal of the month, and asked me to book my next appointment 3 times. I was over the upselling by that point. I walked to my car and decided to look at myself in the mirror since I was told«my skin looked amazing» by the staff. And I saw that MYWHOLENOSE was still covered with a face mask! So when she walked me out and talked to me and the woman cashed me out for 15 minutes, none of them decided to say anything. Maybe taking the full face mask off was that $ 25 upcharge? I also came with blackheads and left with blackheads. Still unsure where the $ 190 value was. Will. Never. Be. Back.

Massage was good but the place wasn’t very tidy and the front desk was less than attentive. I’d say try it for yourself. Experience wasn’t horrible but will definitely try somewhere else.

THEREPLYFROMTHEOWNERISINCORRECT. I am NOT an ex-employee. I was a single visit customer using a Groupon and was treated like dirt at this establishment.

Lisa is the best masseuse ever! I bought 2 groupons for a 50 minute sweedish massage for my girlfriend and I. As soon as we stepped foot inside the door we were treated so nicely. The ambiance in the waiting room is perfect. I love the European touch as well. So soothing. Lisa may be petite in size, but girl knows how to give a great massage, especially with stretching me out during it. ITFELTAMAZING. The complimentary hot stones was the icing on the cake. I would come here monthly to see Lisa if I lived in Connecticut! Go see her!

I booked a last minute appointment around 11AM for ASAP appointment. I told Karina, the receptionist, I had to be out of there by 12:45. She said she would try to arrange and call me back, which she did. She managed to get me an appointment at 11:45 — which I think was excellent and very accommodating of her. But, she did asked me for my credit card #(I thought probably she just want assurance that I would show up since it’s a last minute appointment — understandably); she told me that I would be getting a «Swiss Resurfacing» facial for $ 127 and assure me I would be out of there by 12:45pm. I arrived at the spa just before 11:45 — the esthetician didn’t get there until 12pm. While waiting for the esthetician to arrive, I looked at their menu. When I looked at the menu, I saw the«Swiss Resurfacing» facial is for 90 minutes treatment. And I clearly told her that I only had one hour for the treatment, well, in this case will be 45 minutes because the esthetician didn’t show up until 12pm. So I thought, if I pay $ 127, I should get 90 minutes treatment instead of just 45 minutes. I told her that because of the time crunched, I should only do the«Swiss on the Go» facial — a 45 mins treatment — for $ 88. She called the esthetician, and she kept trying to re assure me she could do all the 90 mins treatment in 45 mins. When I said, no, I would do the Swiss on the Go, she asked me to add some additional mask treatment for $ 60 and she would take $ 10 off to compensate her tardiness. I began to get irritated by then. I told Karina the receptionist, can she tell the esthetician to get here an discuss the treatment after she sees my skin? Isn’t that what they normally do at any other spas? Instead of trying to convince me to get additional treatment. This is a major turn off for me. It’s like she doesn’t want to do the treatment unless I spend a lot of money. When the esthetician finally arrived, I found out she’s the owner of the spa. She apologized for being late — apparently she was in New Haven running errands when I called. I thought it was very accommodating of her to do my facial at last minute; but I can understand why since she’s the owner of the spa. Irena, the owner/esthetician, did a wonderful job on my time constraint facial. She managed to clean all the blackheads on my nose, which is why I desperately needed facial on the first place, in less than 45 mins treatment. Irena is very nice, professional and very good. She’s very proud of her business and works very hard for it. Now the question is, will I come again? I don’t think so. Reason being, for the price, which is almost the same as other much more upscale spa; Cloud 9 looks a little bit tiresome. The place doesn’t look fresh. And I agree with what I read on the reviews, the robe doesn’t look fresh. Will I recommend this place? For facial, absolutely yes. Irena did a wonderful job. I just like a more upscale looking spa if I spend same amount as upscale spa for treatment. Total I paid was $ 150+ including $ 15 tip(sorry, not being cheap but wasn’t too impress of the tardiness and being overly pushy on agreeing to take more treatments before even analyzing my skin) $ 88 + $ 50 mask less $ 10 discount + tip.

There’s a reason why there are always deals on Livingsocial and Groupon for this place… no one wants to be a repeat customer, so the owner needs to lure newbies in with a deal. I was one of those that fell for the Livingsocial deal for a Swedish massage. I called to make the appointment, but no on answered, so left a message to have a call back to a different number. As soon as I hung up I received a call back right from the owner asking if I just called. Umm yeah. So I told her I have the Livingsocial deal. She immediately tried to up-sell me into a longer massage. I insistently replied I just wanted the 50 minutes that was part of the deal. I made an early appointment with a male masseuse(the only masseuse apparently available). At this point I was looking forward to my visit. Fast forward to the morning of the appointment, on a hot July day. I arrived about 15 minutes early, as most spas request. As I walked up the street I noticed the spa was dark. Weird. I get to the door and it’s locked! I peeked in, but saw no one. I went around the corner and waited until about 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment. I got back and my masseuse was now waiting outside the door! I asked him what was going on and he said the owner was just arriving. About 5 minutes later he says«there she is now», as she drove through the intersection. *sigh* Irena(the owner) finally let’s us in. The place was hot as hell. She tells me the air conditioning cools it down quickly. I’m thinking to myself, «I hope so, I don’t want my own sweat to be my massage oil». Then she had the nerve to ask me what other spas I’ve been to and if I liked the service. She also tried to up sell me for a longer massage again. I was offered a glass of water, which was tepid at best. I already have a bad first impression. I was taken back to my massage room and the masseuse(whose name escapes me) got to work. I was still hot when it started, but everything else was pretty uneventful. The pressure wasn’t great and the strokes seems sort of erratic. Then came the nail in the coffin… he burped. It wasn’t loud, but I heard it sneak out and then immediately smelled it. It was oniony. I am not one to typical get grossed out by bodily functions, but if you’re in a profession where you’re up close and personal with people all day, it’s advised that you lay off the gassy cuisine. I had to do everything in my power not to laugh or wave the stink away from my face. Yes, I was face up and he was near my head. He also let one go when I was face down. The man needed some tums apparently. I heard a bang on the wall and then it seemed like the massage ended very abruptly. He did not use a «spa» voice. It was more of a normal speaking volume. Sort of jarring. I believe I got my full 50 minutes though. I got dressed and went out to pay. Irena has a very odd demeanor, sort of abrasive. She was pushing for me to schedule another massage. I was very unimpressed, so I had no desire to do so. I found it strange that there were no other clients in the spa, but now having first-hand experience I knew why. It’s obvious you get what you pay for. I do not recommend Cloud 9. I would suggest spending the extra money and going to Tranquility Spa down the road for quality, professional service.

I bought a deal for this on living social… so I booked a facial. Really not good, obviously. When I went in to change, I noticed that the room I was in was not as clean as I expect a spa to be, and the robe I put on felt damp, and really did not smell fresh — the same could be said of the sheets. So even before my facial began I was a little grossed out, but I tried to keep a optomistic outlook on it. Parts of the facial were okay, and I was offered the extra«exfoliant treatment» for an extra $ 45, and I figured what they hell so I said yes. However, a couple of times during the facial, the owner, who was doing my facial and the only one there, had to get up from my facial to attend to whomever she heard walking into the spa… very weird. She did not do any«hard work» on my skin, it really felt like a light massage. Then, after she put on what I guess was the treatment I spent an extra $ 45 for, she left the room with no explaination and was gone for 10 plus minutes… possibly to take a smoke break, as I thought I smelled smoke on her when she came in the room, and she washed her hands for a while before touching my face again. But maybe this was coming from the outside of the building, I really can’t be 100% about that. But thats the impression I got. She removed the mask from my face and told me I was done. There was no real work done on my face in my opinion… when I got home I could still see the blackheads on my nose. Basically I spend $ 100 for someone to massage my face? I did not tip, and I NEVER do not tip at all. I still feel kinda guilty about it since I have never not left a tip, but this woman was the owner, and after dropping $ 100 on sub-par services in her spa, I really did not feel the inclination.

Awful. Went in for a spa pedicure to treat myself. No real pedicure chairs. My chair was very low, while the footstool my feet were on was very high. VERY uncomfortable. The girl had no clue what she was doing and took over two hours. I should have gotten up after the first hour. When she was finally done — and I’m not exaggerating about it being over two hours, I spoke with the manager and politely told them they had no business offering pedicures. Just because they do nails doesn’t mean they’re ready for pedicures. Perhaps they’re great at facials, I don’t know — just don’t waste your time getting a pedi!

This has to be the WORST spa I have ever been to and the WORST service by a «professional» in regards to any environment. Not only was the place dirty in appearance, the o… r is the most rude, unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. The owner is the esthetician; she claimed to be «the Best esthetician» there is and I would be beyond pleased with my «signature» hour long facial. To begin with, there is no changing area in the place other than the treatment rooms. There is nothing to change into to get comfortable in comparison to other day spas. When I mentioned this I was given an old pair of gross house slippers that I was nervous to put on and a terry cotton top. When …, the«esthetician», came in she put my hair back with a gross, very dirty looking, cotton hair tie that Velcro closed. The«facial» was not at all relaxing, and certainly not clarifying. … left the room for over 15 minutes and left a facial mask on my skin. When she came back in I questioned where she had went for so long and she claimed she told me she would be right back and«I must have fallen asleep» Really? This isn’t that relaxing! In typical facials, one gets some sort of foot/leg arm message while treatments are working, not the person to leave the room, and for 15 minutes, with a mask on my skin! There was a clock behind me and I looked at the time b/c I thought it was odd that she left the room. Needless to say, her«in-depth skin analysis» consisted of … telling me my skin looked great for my age, not sure what that means, as she didn’t ask or know what my age is… and really? Is that what an «in-depth skin analysis» consists of? To top this awful facial off, my face swelled up like a balloon, was considerably red for a week and I broke out with acne like I’ve never experienced in my life. Thus, I would not recommend this facility to anyone for any of their services.
