Over the past three months I stopped by Downes and Reader discussing what wood to use for a rustic farmhouse table. Everyone there were helpful and patient understanding I wasn’t a professional.
In the end my father and I decided on walnut based on the greyish tint it had. It’s also a hardwood not often used for these tables.
My suggestion is if you’re not knowledgable about hardwoods but have an idea. Bring some ideas and then talk to the guys who work here.
Located at the end of «furniture row» behind Dunkin Donuts and the old Eastern Pulse.
