I’ve been in glasses since kindergarten. When I was younger, I thought the whole process sucked — you’d go to the doctor, who would make your already terrible vision worse by dilating your eyes, then confirm that you’ve gotten even more blind. I had some ridiculous looking glasses at various points in my life — pink plastic, purple/​green/​blue GIANT wire frames, you name it, I probably wore it on my face. Now that I’m older though (& much more fashionable when it comes to glasses), I like getting new glasses.
My point being: I like this place. I didn’t go for an eye appointment, but I did go to get my prescription filled. I didn’t intend to get new frames, but it’s just so hard not to try all of them on & pick out a pair anyway! Dr. Julie Le is incredibly friendly, & has a bright & elegant shop (truth: I was initially interested in this place because of it’s clever name — «iGlass» — & because of how nice it looked in pictures.) I tried on a bunch of different styles, & Julie was helpful in giving her opinion on them, as well as making suggestions about what other ones to try. The selection isn’t huge, though (which is why I’m only giving it 4 stars, not 5.)
When I picked a pair, she went through all the options for lenses, which is important to me because my prescription is so strong; therefore, my lenses are usually pretty thick. I liked this — no other shop has offered these options to me — it’s always just poly carb, with or without the anti-​glare coating. I don’t remember the exact name of the type of lens I went with, but it was thinner, clearer, & more durable — & more expensive, too (Julie showed me a spreadsheet with the pricing for all the different options.)
I picked up my glasses today & I’m so pleased with them! Julie is a pleasure to work with, & when it comes time to replace these frames, I’ll definitely head back to iGlass.
(Also! They send you off with your new glasses in a cute little bag filled with «goodies» — cleaning solution & cleaning cloths. It’s just one of those things that makes a place stand out.)

dr. julie le is the best optometrist there is. she just opened up a new office in milford, nh (just outside nashua, nh) and it’s well worth the trek from cambridge.
her store is well appointed and she helped outfit me in two new pairs of prescription glasses (a pair of gucci’s and a pair of marc by marc jacobs). i also picked up a pair of marc sunglasses.
if you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, definitely stop in.
and i am not biased whatsoever. :P
