History
Established in 1962.
Originally known as the Golden Opportunity Center, Inc., KSI was founded in 1962 with a grant from Delaware Foundation for Retarded Children (DFRC). What began in a small facility in Camden, just south of Dover, Delaware grew over the next decade to include four satellite facilities. In 1985, programs in Woodside, Bridgeville, Dover and Milford were consolidated and moved to KSI’s current location, a 77,000 sq. ft. plant, located at 301 N. Rehoboth Blvd, Milford, Delaware.
KSI is a full member agency of the United Way of Delaware and since 1980 has been accredited by the Commission for Accreditation Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
