Very friendly owners. The ice is well maintained and what others say about the age? What are you looking for? A place to skate or the taj-mahal? Prices are great as compared with other rinks. Always willing to accommodate with skate rentals. Tell me where you will find an «Egg and Cheese Sandwich for $ 2.50. The secret is out.

Good heavens… The single worst ice rink in the state of Connecticut. Seriously, this place needs to be condemned as a public building, let alone an ice rink. Built in 19-godknowswhen, absolutely everything that could go wrong, IS wrong with this place. The lockerrooms are positively disgusting, the ice itself is often mottled or warped, the boards are not vertical… what else do you need to know? And in the summer, forget it. The positively ancient refrigeration system is simply unable to keep a 200×85 sheet of ice frozen. I once played in June, and the ice was peeling back from the boards, exposing the actual concrete in many places. You wanna go for public skate and ruin THEIR rental skate blades? Yeah, you can still do that here, as long as the roof stays in place. You want to play ice hockey, or anything resembing ice hockey? forget it.

OK, it’s a little run-down and the beat-up rental skates make you feel as if you’re being subjected to some type of horrible foot-related torture, but it costs half as much to skate as opposed to many other local rinks. It’s only $ 7.00 per person, including the skate(torture device) rental. Definitely bring your own skates if you have them.

We go family skating on Sunday afternoons. It can get a little crowded sometimes, especially near the holidays but it is great exercise for everyone. Just watch out for rough patches as the public skate is after hockey practice.
