They’re really limited on their vegan choices, unlike other whole foods stores in the state. Really disappointed in this location, which is the closest to home.

Until they get their prices under control — this is just a specialist place for me. I do like the salad/lunch bar. That’s unusual in a grocery store and just wonderful. But I will NOT pay $ 6.75 for a loaf of bread. I will not pay double what other grocery stores charge for essentially commodities. IT’s just plain not that special.

Im so glad when this place opened in 2012! It took me forever to get to all he other whole foods in CT. I’ve even got a long-term friendship from here. My reasoning for 4 stars is that this place would be a 5star if it consistently had the same stuff(that is available all year) on the shelves. Theres times where Id be looking for a particular product they sell and for some reason or another it wouldn’t be there. Other than that I never had a bad experience via customer service, cleanliness, or bad product. My newest obsessions are the Pesto Pocket Bread found with the muffins and scones. Parmesan topped with basil and olive oil tucked in a focaccia-like bread. Warm that in the microwave for 45 sec. and I’m in heaven! And those macaroons! A bit pricey but one will go a long way!

I really like this whole foods, it’s average sized, with a wide selection of foods. It always has fresh fruit and veg which not only looks great but importantly, most of the time tastes great too. They have a range of meats at the butcher counter, it’s slightly expensive but you know you are getting good quality, local produce, which has been raised without antibiotics or cages. I like that they source their foods locally but that does sometimes have it’s disadvantages. Like in the Hartford branch they sell these super amazing tortilla chips but they only sell them in that branch. This means if we ever want them again we’ll have to go all the way out to Hartford, which might be consider overkill, no matter how good they taste. The bakery seems to have become somewhat less appealing recently, the cakes aren’t quite as pretty as they used to look. I love their 365 range, it’s a slightly ‘cheaper’ alternative to some of their other items but doesn’t compromise on quality, as it’s still organic. The store staff are almost always friendly and helpful.

I came down to CT to visit some friends and I decided to go to whole foods to get lunch. I went to the salad bar area(where all the food is) and the selection wasn’t as big as I’m used to. I think it was okay. The cashier I had was lovely. She was super nice and when I was waiting in line she helped the lady get a discount without her having to ask. For her I give an extra star because she made the experience better. The other employees were polite as well. I was looking for cookie butter for my mom but I couldn’t find any. I think if you’re wanting to stop in and get something to eat this is a good place to go, but idk how successful grocery shopping is considering most of the reviews I read referred to expired food. I enjoyed my tea and salad though!

I becoming more and more concerned about the posted signs conflicting with the product they’re in front of. While selecting blueberries today there was a sign stating the«locally grown New Jersey blueberries» we’re on sale. Every package of blueberries were labeled«product of Canada». Since when is Canada local and part of New Jersey.

This Whole Foods has a lot of the comforts I have come to expect. The beer selection is ok, but not great. The bakery looked nice. The produce and meat looked incredible. I came here looking for lunch. Their hot bar had some nice salad offerings as well as biryani and chicken korma(one of the tamer Indian sauces). The hot bar food is always good, though the chicken was a bit mild for me.

This location continues to improve. I’m finding more and more things I like in the salad bar and lunch area. Thank you for having BBQ soy nuggets on the hot bar. The pizza area here has always been stellar. Quite delicious. I’m enjoying this location much more. In CT, Westport is my #1 followed by here and then the Fairfield one. Not Darien as their hot food area is still like a trucker stop with wings and things.

This place is great! The parking is a bit tough although the lot is huge and could be fine with some walking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot and cold food bar looked phenomenal. Their cheese section had every type of cheese that you could imagine. Some people make jokes and call this place«whole paycheck», but I actually found a lot of the stuff to be much cheaper than most organic places. Their home cooked stuff seemed like the major draw here. The rotisserie chicken was definitely the most moist I ever had from a supermarket. Grabbed a few coconut amino on sale which I have never seen for that price offline. Will definitely be returning here in the future and trying their hot food bar. If you live in the area or are on a strict elimination diet, I find it hard for you to go here and not find what you are looking for at an affordable price.

For all your unusual organic goods I recommend the Milford location. If I had a recipe that called for an Ostrich egg … I would have bought that sucker! The staff is pleasant & the store is clean. Just be wary of going on a Saturday afternoon — it seems that all the pompous jack wagons like to go.

This is your usual Whole Foods, but a little smaller than the other ones I’ve been to. I normally frequent the West Hartford one, which I think is one the larger Whole Foods in the area. So what does this mean? This means much less prepared foods, smaller bakery, less cheese variety, and not as much meat. To the average grocery shopper, this doesn’t matter. But if you’re looking for something specific, be aware that it might not be there. True to form, Whole Foods selection really varies by store. For example, my favorite cheese, Kunik, is available at West Hartford but not Milford. Be aware of this when you’re looking for your favorite treats.

I went in here quickly today while running around doing errands. I was excited to see that they had Cara Cara oranges, and I love their cut up fruit and veggie selection. They also seem to have a decent selection of cheeses. And,(although I don’t need it) a huge began section. This market is not bad(and has some specialities that aren’t available everywhere), but WF could never be a one-stop shop for me. I don’t really fit in here with my gas guzzling Audi and love for foie gras.

I really don’t understand why this Whole Foods has such bad ratings when every time I have gone it has been nothing but a very pleasant experience. The parking situation has never been terrible for me. Most of the time I can find a spot near the store entrance. The strip mall does have lots of businesses which can contribute to the congestion. You want to talk about impossible parking? Try visiting the Whole Foods on Sand Lake in Orlando, FL. THATIS parking MAYHEM. The staff at this location is very attentive. I am not a frequent Whole Foods shopper and sometimes get confused when looking for particular items. I have always been approached by a staff member and asked if they can help me find something. They are always willing to help you out and I appreciate the gestures. My local Stop & Shop really lacks pre-made meals or pre-seasoned meats that I can just bring home and finish cooking. Today I was able to purchase already seasoned steak skewers for $ 12.99/lb. Since I live alone I don’t like spending hours making meals so it was totally worth it. The sushi bar is one of my favorite things as well. I like to stop in during the hours the sushi is being prepared and grabbing some to go. The store is super clean and organized. You really can’t go wrong shopping here. I certainly can’t afford to do all my shopping here, but I like being able to pick out those pre-made items.

I was in the area and craving some WF food bar goodness, so I decided to give this branch a try. Granted, it was after 8 pm, but that’s never been an excuse for other Whole Foods I’ve frequented around the country. So let me make it short and not-so-sweet: FOODBAR — PASS: Completely picked over, unappetizing look, wilted veggies, feta cheese that was powdered, not crumbled, and just… ugh — no. DELI: PASS — The food was sub-par and the container they put my «hot»(not even warm) food in «to go» was a styrofoam plate, with a lid that fell off constantly. Also, check out staff put the plate sideways into the shopping bag — like, my dinner is hanging out the side out of the plate, alright? For Heaven’s sake… FRESHFRUITFRIDGE — NOTBAD: They have variety, and everything was nicely organized and clean looking; prices are higher than most places, but hey, Whole Foods. STAFF: HELLO? I realize everyone gets tired after a long shift, but what’s with the ‘tude and the unhappy faces? If your employer/manager sucks, i’m sorry, but please don’t take it out on the unsuspecting customer who just said hi and have a nice night… y’know? Also, staff sitting around joking and laughing loudly at the front interior entrance while ignoring lost looking customers. Just sayin’. PARKING: Plenty when I went there, but again, later in the evening. Overall: MEH. Been to better, wouldn’t go back. Not worth the expensive prices and the sub-par nearly everything else. Get it together, y’all.

Not the best whole foods in the state and I think that’s why so many poor ratings but compared to the trader Joe’s down the road this place is awesome. Always friendly staff and a decent selection of produce. I come here or glastonbury because I have no whole foods nearby and I do like glastonbury better but this is a very convenient location. Bagels they get from nyc here are amazing worth the trip alone

My experience with the staff was super good, they were helpful and friendly. The parking can be bad — it’s in a large plaza so there’s plenty of parking, but there’s a ton of boutique stores in the same plaza, so if you’re here and people are shopping(like on a weekend or holiday)… you might have trouble. The selection here is standard for Whole Foods. Super fresh/local/organic/tasty, but pricey. That’s standard for Whole Foods. It’s not any more unreasonable than any other Whole Foods, and people come here because they value something more than they do price or convenience. Keep in mind, Whole Foods have great selections of foreign foods(clotted cream ftw), cheeses, meats, etc. Also the salad bar and hot food bar are super good. Might as grab lunch to eat on the patio outside while you’re grocery shopping!

Parking is atrocious, and hybrid drivers can’t drive and this store pulls them in like a moth to a flame. Getting in the store is like staring on Legends of the Hidden Temple. The store has your standard WF goods, over priced, but damn I love their cream soda. I don’t do my regular grocery shopping here but I do stop in on occasion. There are some unique finds, especially if you’re gluten free, sugar free, vegan, gmo free, ibs sufferer. Everything is marked up dramatically, for hard to find things or specialities I don’t mind but for standard general groceries it’s unacceptable. You’ll see what I mean. People rave about their buffet area. I’ve never had anything mind blowing but for a quick lunch it wasn’t bad at all. Alright, so, bring your game face to get in the door. You’ll find some cool things but likely won’t be your all the time grocery store due to cost and how inconvenient it is. The stars are earned for unique selection, effort & lunch buffet.

I truly don’t mind spending a few more dollars on high quality or unique products. I do mind prices on easy to find, non-unique products being $ 5+ more solely because it’s sold at Whole Foods. I can walk across the street to Trader Joe’s, or drive down the street to Stop & Shop, and find some of the exact same items for half the price. I can’t buy into the ~experience~ being worth the extra money. If I buy Ray Bans at Nordstrom or if I buy Ray Bans at the Sunglass Hut, they will be the same price. I’m getting far better customer service, return policy, etc at Nordstroms, but I’m still paying the same price as I would at SGH. Get me? I understand prices being slightly higher at mom & pop shops, but Whole Foods is a massive Fortune 100 company, there’s no excuse for it. Now granted, there are items here that I don’t mind paying more for. But Justin’s peanut butter being sold for $ 6 more than Stop & Shop sells it for is just outrageous. Charge me extra for your specialty products. Really, I don’t mind. They’re delicious. And I genuinely like shopping here. But I refuse to pay an *extra* $ 60+ per trip for items I can easily find for half the price at a regular grocery store, and that’s what keeps me out of this store. It’s entirely based on principle. Stop ripping me off on easy to find items, and I will gladly spend my money on your specialty products. although I’m well aware this well never happen. As for this location, it’s clean, the staff is fine, it’s sufficient. I wish the salad/hot bar here was as good as some of their other locations, but it seems for some reason the CTWF are all lacking in that department. It’s a shame, because in other states they’re huge and awesome.

In terms of the Whole Foods chain, this is not one of their best stores. While the staff is helpful and knowledgable, this store is smaller than most WF. The selection is also limited, by comparison. It works if you are looking for commonplace items, but don’t expect anything too spectacular.

Compared to other Whole Foods in the state this one is the absolute pits. Is it too much to ask for a simple thank you at the cash register? I thought Whole Foods employees live for that stuff. I mean, c’mon, I receive better manners from my local gas station attendant. For the prices I’m paying at Whole Foods I don’t expect them to kiss my ass but I do expect them to be civil. Which leads me to ponder… where do they do their hiring? Is it the Cheshire Correctional Facility? I’m serious. Not only are the employees lacking in the social graces but they’re just freaking scary looking. Like they’re probably packing pistols and ready to pop a cap in my ass. On one side of the scale, you have the clean-cut respectful workers at the Whole Foods in West Hartford, and then on the opposite end of the scale you have the ghetto reject types who work at this Whole Foods. It’s like a «whole» different company entirely. Now I’m not one to complain about a single bad experience, but my multiple experiences at this Whole Foods have added up to become a trend and it’s a very bad trend at that.
