I’ve been coming here for cuts for six years and have yet to be disappointed. I’ve worked with both Ellen and Annie and they are receptive, friendly, and (most importantly) stellar at what they do. From personal experience, Annie’s forte is in creating beautiful layers, while Ellen is great to consult about hairstyles that are flattering for your hair type + face.
The only thing keeping me from wholeheartedly recommending this place is the worry that if everyone knew about it, it’d get too crowded!

Another review about how happy and pleased with Annie’s gorgeous hair work! She seriously knows what she’s doing. She helped me pick out my colors for root touching and ombré. Some colors I liked, she informed me she’d have to bleach my hair and that would damage it. Not really something I’m interested in, so she suggested a red-​purple color that really pops brightly in sunlight and looks amazing in lower light as well– and my hair is sooo soft. No bleach needed! She just works magic every time, it’s only the 2^nd time I’ve been in but I’ll refer all my girlfriends here because they need to have their hair done by Annie!

I finally got around to writing a review. About 10 years ago, I followed Ellen Chu from her job at Supercuts to her new store called EM Salon. Ellen was great! A few years later, one day I walked in and Annie greets me instead of Ellen. I find out Ellen sold the salon to Annie. Ellen stayed on for a few more years. Annie brought in «Tree»; I still don’t know how to spell her name. Tree started by sweeping floors and then she dyed my hair and now she cuts it. Annie and Tree have the sweetest voices– so soft and sweet. They are very fashionable. Beautiful outfits! It’s fun just to come in and see what they are wearing!
Annie is extremely smart and very talented! She has certifications in everything. So when I go in I’m there for about 3 hours and I get the whole thing– haircut and color, manicure, pedicure, facial, full body massage. Every time I do this I’m reminded of the characters in the Wizard of Oz when they get to the Emerald City:
Rub, rub here
Rub, rub there
Whether you’re tin or bronze
That’s how we keep you in repair
In the merry old land Oz.
Annie massages are delicious! She goes over and over, never rushing, very firm, very elegant. Sometimes we talk, but mostly I just enjoy every minute.

By far the best hair cut experience I’ve had. I found this lovely place with the help of Unilocal.I had extremely long hair and wanted to go short. I showed Annie a picture of what I was going for, and the result was even better than the picture! I have thick, but fine and flat Asian hair. Annie gave my hair a lot of volume using her skillful techniques. Needless to say, I will be returning here regularly. For anyone looking for a high quality hair cut at an affordable price (just $ 20!), I strongly recommend this salon.

This was by far the worst hair experience ever. I have thick coarse blonde hair and I went in for a full foil to kind of brighten it up a bit. She not only left the blonde on too long but the outcome was orange yellow hair. When we tried to tone it she turned my hair purple grey. She then had to use another chemical that burned my scalp and then tried to charge me 100 $. I didn’t even stay to have my hair blown dry or straightened, I went to a different salon to have it fixed. I would never go back and I don’t recommend anyone else going. I was there from 1 – 4 and still left with wet nasty hair.

I have been to this salon, twice. THEY KNOW How to cut straight, thick hair. This is an AMAZING skill, trust me. After 40 years of searching, only 3 stylist, in my entire life knew how to use techniques that work for me. Great little shop for a really professional cut and style. They will be on my contact list for sure.

. I totally recommend this salon! Annie did a fabulous job on my hair! I have a lot of hair and can never find anybody to thin it out enough and she did a beautiful job! I arrived a little bit early for my appointment and watched her do a haircut. Not only does she do a great job but the customer service is top rate!

My daughter and I have had our haircuts from Annie for 10 years. She is so attentive to every detail. I am happy to call you our friend.

Do not get eyebrows done here. I don’t think they even know what their doing when it comes to that. I asked for the to just cleanup a little. I left with barely any eyebrows left and patches in them. She waxed them so fast it was like she wanted me to leave faster. I’m very upset and will not be coming back.

Amy did such an amazing job! I wanted the classic inverted bob haircut and tried Supercuts but the person there did not know how to cut it correctly. I was introduced to Amy through my husband who has been getting his haircut at Vivi salon since 2008 and keeps coming back! Amy is extremely talented and knows what she is doing. My hair looks exactly like how I wanted it to look like and it was even better than I thought it would be! I highly recommend this salon and will definitely be back again!

I have been coming to this salon for 8 years now, and this place is the best to get a haircut! Annie is my favorite!!! She does an amaaaaaaaazzzing job! She always cuts my hair perfectly and the way I want it. She always tells you what she’s doing and what’s best for your hair. I don’t go to anyone else to cut my hair, ever. And pricing is very reasonable!

Annie was great and very detailed when it came down to every piece of hair. I had recently moved to Washington from across the Midwest and have yet to find a place that was reasonable and did a great job until now. She made sure she knew exactly how I had wanted my hair and turned it into just that. I highly recommend her!

Calling all Asians that have the same problem as me. Trying to find a hair stylist that knows how to cut «Asian» hair. Today I met Annie and let me tell you, she is fricken awesome! I showed her a picture of the hairstyle I wanted and she delivered!!! She really makes you feel comfortable while you’re sitting in her chair. I have thick Filipino hair. I mean really thick. While she was cutting my hair, Annie told me step by step what she was doing. And I found that to put myself at ease. I love a stylist that is confident in their craft because that makes the customer trust them more. Annie is soo amazing! Not going anywhere else! I’m definitely returning. Annie is definitely a gem! Check her out you won’t be disappointed!

I highly recommend this salon! Annie is my favorite hairstylist ever, and so sweet. She has been doing hair for many years, has very reasonable prices, runs a clean salon, stays up on all the current trends and licensing, including offering waxing, «threading», permanent makeup and special event makeup (weddings) as well. She is in the same strip mall as my favorite dry cleaner in Mill Creek, as well as Azteca. She and the other stylists always dress up in pretty colorful dresses and heels, and just set a nice professional and stylish look for the salon.
I used to go to all the expensive salons for many years, Gary Manuel, Antonio Melani, Gene Juarez, Oasis Spa, just to name a few, etc., etc., and pay all the expensive prices. Sometimes I would get just «average» haircuts and color, sometimes super good. But always very expensive because you pay more for the «most» experienced stylists and salons, which I always chose.
I had developed some scalp allergies over the years to many of the products I used, and many of them were causing hair loss as well, especially the hair color products, but also the shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, etc. I found more natural products to use at home, which worked great, but the natural «hair color» products did a terrible job on the color, and the color always faded and left me feeling frustrated.
I had found a salon in Woodinville that used a newer permanent «ammonia free» hair color called Nectaya by Goldwell, out of Canada. I didn’t have any scalp allergies to it, and my hair loss was less. The color turned out luxurious! I was very happy with this product but did not like the high prices at that salon. So, I started looking around for a salon in Mill Creek that was closer to my home that used this same product. Nobody did, and I called a lot of places. Nobody would order it for me either. They usually came up with the same excuse, can’t order it because of insurance reasons, or can’t order it because we’re a chain and corporate won’t let us do any ordering. I realized I needed to ask a small hairstylist company. I asked a few small companies, and they wouldn’t order it either.
This is why I became a BIG fan of Annie at Vivi Salon. When I called her to ask her about this particular product around 9 months ago and explained to her my dilemma, she totally sympathized with my scalp issues and said she would order it for me! She understood a lot of people from her experience, have scalp sensitivity allergies and hair loss, and was happy to know there was a great permanent «ammonia free» hair color product available on the market. Can you believe that?!
So, the second real test was when I had my first appointment with Annie. I brought in a photo of the cut I was trying to achieve that I hadn’t been able to successfully get for some time. She had ordered my hair color and had it in stock, waiting for me. Everything went perfect. She really took her time and was very very detailed, just like an artist. I didn’t have any grey hairs showing when she was done. She dealt with any thinning areas on my scalp by cutting more body into those areas, and she followed my requests always trying to keep me happy, but also offered suggestions if she thought I would like it and it would work better for me. When I was done, I had the best cut I could remember in a long time, the color looked shiny and luxurious, and she styled my hair perfectly!
I have continued to see Annie once a month for color, and rotate between a cut and a trim. I have noticed that when she is working on me, she is in another zone, heavily concentrating, trying to get every last hair perfectly in place. She understands that I am concerned about hair loss, so at my request, uses the «hot» blow dryer and brush very minimally, and mostly styles with her hands. Even though it takes a little longer this way, she always makes my hair look fabulous! :-)
Annie told me that she now uses the Nectaya hair color on many other clients of hers who have scalp sensitivity, or just want a great «ammonia free» product to use. She is really happy with it.
I also had Annie do «threading» on my face for facial hair 2 times now. It was a first for me and a very unique experience. She suggested I do that instead of the waxing I had requested, as there would be less «trauma» to my face. I am sold on this new service. It was just as effective as the waxing, in my opinion. She is an expert at this and «threads» fast and skillfully.
Annie has other gals working for her that are very sweet and talented. I haven’t tried any of them, but they all seem to be very popular with their regulars.

Love, love, love this place! I have always been spoiled by a high end salon and needed to find a way to trim my budget. I came to Annie on a recommendation from a friend. I have been completely satisfied! She is quick and my color always turns out amazing. She uses high end products! I have only had to have highlights once because of how she does it and how she matches the all over color. Saves me money! I bring my 14 year old daughter as well and she is happy with how Annie cuts and styles her hair. Plus it doesn’t break the bank to get quality hair services!

This salon is so friendly, this was our first time coming here and the service is affordable, and great. Sitting her waiting for my mother to get her hair done I’ve seen people coming in non stop. They are repeating customers who love the service here as much as I do. Definitely check it out, this salon knows what their doing. Will be back again.

Best Kept Secret in Seattle area!!! Annie is amazing! If I win the lottery someday, Annie will be my personal stylist. I always look and feel like Hollywood after a haircut w Annie! Make an appointment, you will love this woman and her salon! I can truly call her a friend, because she cares about everyone.
Very friendly and professional. Sometimes, I’ve brought in photos and other times just had an idea for a slightly different haircut… Annie always hits a home run!
She takes her time, but it doesn’t take too long. You can trust she will give you a great haircut, everytime! She washes your hair out and you feel so relaxed!
