Clearspace Organizing

I’m a fairly organized person to begin with, but I had been overwhelmed with a recent move and demanding full-​time job, so I needed someone to help me get motivated to organize the clutter. Cody was fantastic — she helped me get a logical «system» in place to stay on top of clutter (esp. paperwork, filing, kids’ activities, artwork, etc.). And she’s super personable and easy to work with. I’d highly recommend her for small or large jobs!

Don’t really know where to start! I stumbled upon Cody by chance and I feel so lucky to have found her. She has helped me so much in re-​thinking my space and helping me get organized with my three small kids. It is an energy/​efficiency/​home therapy must! It really is one of those things that you don’t realize you need help with until you are actually doing it. I really could not recommend her enough, she is kind, thoughtful, gets to work and knows her stuff. I agree with the other posters– Cody deserves 100 stars.

Cody deserves a 100 stars! She is so kind, thoughtful, and a pleasure to work with. An amazing organizer that goes much, much deeper than «just» organizing, she takes it to a different level – thinking about how the energy flows in your space as well as how you utilize it. The systems she creates are working: we have no trouble now keeping spaces and counters clear – it is all effortless and easy.
My wife had had a debilitating accident right after we moved into a new place, so since dealing with this crisis our apartment was a complete mess and still in boxes a year later, covered with a thick layer of dust. Cody came in and cleared up both the clutter and our minds, making room both physically and mentally for healing to take place. We are so deeply grateful, and are now looking forward to continuing the organizing process instead of dreading it.

oh wow… if I could give Cody 10 stars I would. I am a hairstylist that owns a hip busy shop in San Francisco. I just to travel, gather things for other lands, shop for fashions, collect vintage, and in general collect clutter. I am painfully creatively disorganized. all this is fine except that I love a minimal and well designed home. I want a gorgeous space to relax and listen to music in. I hate clutter. On top of all of that along came my 4 month daughter. now it was time to call this famous Cody I had been hearing about. Lucky for me I met her fresh off the boat from Seattle because soon enough her dance card will be too full! She is AMAZING. It just about knocked me over how great she is. she is just really direct, looks around and create mental systems for your home, and then gets to work so your space can be a dream home. the systems she set up and helped to teach me will be in place for years! I love knowing where everything is. Feels so good. I love Cody herself as well. she is sharp witted, quick minded, but also really loving and grounding. I felt no shame about my clutter and dust during this process. best money I ever spent for my little family…

I have so many good things to say about Cody, I’ll probably get cut off! She is wonderful to work with, both in how she accommodates her clients as well as how she works with you during projects. She somehow strikes a balance between professional and friend so seamlessly that once you’ve finished working with her you’re not sure if you should hug or shake hands. Having a stranger go through your personal items might seem awkward, but she is so good at what she does it just seems like you’ve got an old buddy with you helping you out if you need it. But on the flip side she could organize a banal storage unit if you needed it. Awesome person and professional! She made a stressful situation manageable in many instances. Hire her!!!

Yesterday I had my first session with Cody Strauss of ClearSpace. I’m in a career change, have just moved back to the States after years in Europe, and just entering graduate studies in architecture at UW. Although I’ve done a huge amount of downsizing in the transition moving back from Europe, I still felt I needed some coaching to be ready for this new intense period of work I am soon entering! I’d had a referral from a friend who also found her work immensely valuable, and called up Cody.
All of the calls and emails we had before she arrived we’re handled not only so professionally, but with an attitude and atmosphere of care and attentiveness, and a balance of clarity and compassion. Yesterday she arrived, as clear as her company’s name, and we had a absolutely electrifying, effective exchange! The time was so perfectly used, as we discussed the questions she had me consider before her arrival, my fears, challenges, wishes and dreams. The conversation was easy and free-​flowing, yet also pinpoint direct and consequent. Already in this phase I gleaned so many great bits of information and tips and strategies. She has a knack for giving out gems of information and direction that don’t feel ‘pre-​packaged’ or generic. Each little thing she shared, along with the timing and context, felt perfectly suited to my exact situation!
I’ve worked with several coaches, and also have a grounding in the David Allen GTD (Getting Things Done) work — nevertheless, I feel Cody’s approach to be unique, moving, and very connected to the feeling of wishing a lifestyle change to influence the quality and essence of my every day life — and level of happiness, satisfaction and creative productivity. The inspirational ideas Cody offered will not only effect the spaces I’m working on, but also my creative work process … and the quality of my days!
We then did a tour of the spaces, and again, working more practically with specific ideas and strategies in challenging spaces (like my office/​studio), Cody had insights and simple, effective ideas that I found elegant and dynamic! I had not seen or thought of these things, I do not think I would have arrived at these solutions by myself! I was having difficulty understanding «what to do where» in my two different work spaces, and by the end of the consultation — I knew exactly how to proceed!
Although I gleaned so much just through the consultation, I am really looking forward to some more hours spent together on this project to tackle the myriad little stumbling blocks I can imagine I will encounter, for the support and encouragement as I try to implement these ideas, and for creative assistance in developing my spaces further.

I was feeling overwhelmed with the volume of paperwork in my home office. I also needed help with areas of my house. I didn’t want someone coming in and telling me I had to change me to make the organization work for me. Instead Cody asked me questions about who I was and how I worked. She tried to get a feel for who I was and tailored the organization to me and my needs. She taught me things that are simple but effective ways to work with paperwork, to do lists, and kids. She is very efficient and doesn’t waste time. I tend to drift off and it was refreshing to have someone come in and keep me on task. I had her back several times. My mom hired her next. She really helped my mom who was having difficulty getting rid of stuff. One year later I’m still using her methods and keeping up with organization. My office is fairly clean.

I took the leap and called her. This was the BEST gift I’ve ever given myself! I signed up for her multi-​session package, and it was worth every single penny. Cody immediately put me at ease. She listened attentively and seemed to intuitively know what might restore my peace of mind. She helped me see that the time I spend at work IS part of my real life, that I need to value myself enough to create a work space that is also my life space, that gives me energy rather than saps my energy. At each step, she would ask me to act out how I used a certain space, a certain drawer, a certain file, what colors appealed to me for décor, etc., so that she could understand the needs of my job and figure out a way to arrange my space so that I could work more joyfully, calmly, and efficiently. We worked really hard together, using every minute to re-​think and re-​organize my space, and I felt a huge sense of accomplishment after each session. Cody at Clear Space is phenomenal. Within the first 5 minutes of entering my home, she saw simple changes that have completely reinvented the feel of my living room and kitchen. she has the proverbial «eye», plus an intuitive sense for opening and clearing out living space. With my closet, she was quick, thorough, receptive to my needs and TOTALLY fun to work with. We sorted and made piles, labeled and laughed. and within an hour, my closet was filtered for the clothes I love, reorganized for use and color coordinated! Cody is a rare blend of well honed practical suggestions combined with a dazzling sense for living a fulfilling life. I can’t recommend her more highly.

Clear Space owner Cody Strauss is a midwife of movement. I had long been meaning to restructure my study and attend to my many disparate projects and figured a little external help to start the ball might help. Cody arrived, listened, suggested and we started to move things about. The next thing i know I’ve finished half my projects, my study is functional alive and place I look forward to being and working and dreaming in. She blends an exquisite sensibility and respect of character with her well developed practical tools to help manifest intention. Highly recommended.

I have a relatively small living space and my favorite form of therapy is retail. Cody has helped me evaluate and rationalize what I have and need and provided systems and tips to help me stay organized. I’ve watched those organizer shows on t.v. — nothing like having a professional in person! She also has a great personality and is a joy to work with!
