Enricka was an absolute lifesaver. I was probably at my lowest moment as a new mother and decided to search Unilocal to see if there was anyone that could help my husband and me. Thank goodness we found Enricka! From what the other reviewers described, it sounded like she was exactly what we needed. We were struggling with it all — breastfeeding, naps, sleeping through the night, etc. I called Enricka and even though we only spoke for a few moments, that initial phone call gave me the immediate reassurance that help was on the way. She came to our home three days later. She walked through door, took our 2 month old daughter, and had her asleep in 5 minutes, something we had never been able to do. She came with a very detailed schedule for her day, for both eating and sleeping. And even though her specialty is sleep, she helped me work through my oversupply issues so that my baby would more easily breastfeed and I would be more comfortable throughout the day. We implemented the new schedule and within a day or two our daughter went from waking up 2 – 3 times per night to nearly sleeping through the night. The naps took a bit longer to sort out, but Enrika was there with us every step of the way. And she didn’t just provide us with guidance, but also provided support, motivation and reassurance that we were moving in the right direction. Enricka always reminded me that it was two steps forward, one step back with a baby and we did encounter our challenges but Enricka helped us work through them. And the change in our baby and quality of life is absolutely incredible. I went from thinking we had a high needs baby to being complimented on how our daughter is so «happy» and «chilled out,» and it’s all because she is finally getting the sleep she needs! Our daughter almost always sleeps through the night now, and while she may never be the best napper, she naps enough that I have plenty of time to myself during the day and she is very content until bedtime. As first time parents, with no family nearby, Enricka was essential in getting us through the first three months as new parents. But more importantly, she helped us to get our baby the sleep she needed to be happy and healthy.

When we brought our first-​born home from the hospital I had the bassinet next to the bed, ready for him — couldn’t get him to sleep in it for more than a half-​hour (despite the wealth of advice I got from all the books and some friends), so he slept on me for the first few months and then in a crib from which he would wake us regularly at night. Fast-​forward 5 years when we brought our twins home from the hospital — I had a plan for how we were going to make it happen this time … but it didn’t (of course). After that first completely sleepless night we recognized we needed help and called everyone we could think of with our SOS, and that’s how we met Enricka Garcia. She’s a postpartum doula and sleep consultant, but I call her the Angel of Sleep. She has a tremendous amount of experience, a calm and knowing presence, and a completely unobtrusive way of coming into your home and restoring order and tranquility.
Our oldest, by the way, still wakes at least once a night (I know because I hear him turn on his music), but I can count on one-​hand (literally) the number of times one of the twins has had to wake us for help getting back to sleep. Best $ we ever spent!

I contacted Enricka out of desperation as I was still breastfeeding my (almost) 2.5 year old daughter and I had been ready to wean for some time, but was feeling trapped in the concrete routine I had created. I had been nursing my daughter to sleep for naps, bedtime, AND when she would wake up multiple times a night, so the advice to just «drop a feeding» and let her «cry it out» didn’t work for me.
I wanted to wean her gently, as well as sleep train without a lot of crying, but that is very challenging to do with a toddler!
From the moment I spoke with Enricka, I could tell she cared, she was listening, and that she knew what she was doing. I got the sense that she would work with us as unique individuals, not just provide the cookie cutter methods that I had received (when working with two other sleep consultants in the past year).
Enricka exceeded all of my expectations. She came to our home, met my daughter and husband, had us keep a 3 day log of eating and sleeping, and then provided us with a personalized step by step, detailed, outside the box approach to help me wean and sleep train my daughter. The process was tough but no where near what I had anticipated and Enricka provided me with the confidence, tools, and support I needed along the way. She was responsive to calls, emails and texts and even checked in with me if a couple of days had gone by with no contact.
After just three weeks, my daughter is weaned and now sleeping 10 – 11 hours through the night along with a 1.5−2 hour nap. She even eats regular meals and behaves better then ever.
My husband and I are thrilled!
I could go on and on… if you are considering Enricka, she is worth every penny and then some!

Enricka joined our family the day that we brought our baby girl home from the hospital and, from that very first night, my husband and I knew that asking her to be a part of our lives for the next three months was a great decision.
I met with probably half a dozen night nurses and/​or doulas, all of whom were very qualified. The problem was, however, my interaction with those candidates just did not feel right. I can’t specifically point to what was wrong; I simply knew that I had not found the one. That is, however, until I met Enricka.
Enricka taught us (and our baby girl) so many invaluable lessons including the importance of sleep for our little one, things to consider for optimal sleep, sleep associations and bedtime routines. And she did all of this without making me feel like a horrible mother if I «messed-​up» the routine or had a bad day.
And speaking of bad days, Enricka also, among many other things, supplied me with the emotional support and confidence that I needed to make it through those hard days. This was aided by the fact that she always made herself extremely accessible during the day so I did not have to wait until she arrived in the evening to ask her questions and/​or reach out for support.
If you are looking for a postpartum doula who specializes in sleep, you should seriously consider having a conversation with Enricka. It will be the first best decision you make for you and your new family.

Knowing Enricka in high school I contacted her for advice with my three month old grandson and my stressed daughter who was suffering from Postpartum Depression. Even though they were half a world away from each other, Enricka was eager to help and jumped right into scheduling Skype meetings with my daughter. Almost instantly we noticed a change in my daughter and grandson. My daughter was more relaxed and confident as a mother and my grandson seemed to be a happier baby. They were both getting some much needed sleep.
We learned along with my daughter some of the feeding and swaddling techniques, as well as some of the relaxation ideas so that we could support both of them. When my son in law returned from overseas he was amazed that the baby was sleeping through the night for a period of 11 to 12 hours. We are truly grateful for the knowledge Enricka provided and would not hesitate to put to use the knowledge that she shared with our family.

Enricka came to our house when my son was 7 weeks old. She was with us for two hours and it felt like a day, a heavenly day. This woman is amazing! Enricka got down to business right away. I can’t believe how empowered I felt after just two hours.
I hired Enricka to help with my son’s sleep schedule. I had a feeling that he was already a good sleeper but being a first-​time mom I just didn’t know how the rhythm of the day was supposed to go. He was still sleeping in his car seat at night and I didn’t have any strategy for naps. By the end her time with us our son was sleeping in his bassinet for his naps and at night.
I developed carpal tunnel in the first month because i was holding my son all the time. I was getting nervous about how I was going to handle this growing little boy. Getting him to take naps by himself, in his bassinet, several times a day has been a lifesaver for me. Not to mention, now I can take a shower, eat breakfast and return emails. The day just feels manageable. There has been a predictable rhythm to the day ever since Enricka was here almost two months ago.
A huge, HUGE, game changer was the bedtime routine that Enricka suggested. Before her consultation we were just letting our son fall asleep whenever and then finally we would put him in his car seat whenever we went to bed. Basically, my husband and I did not have anytime alone as a couple. Since the day Enricka came to the house, our son has been asleep by 7pm. I can now have dinner with my husband without interruption. We can watch movies. I can talk on the phone. It’s awesome!
Our son has been sleeping from 7pm-​6am since about week 8. I know this unusually good and that we lucked out with an innately good sleeper, but I don’t think we would have realized that he was such a good sleeper or how to encourage his sleep habits without Enricka.
OK, one more thing because I just can’t say enough about this woman. Enricka gave us such great information on our feeds in addition to sleep. Information that in retrospect I am really surprised our pediatrician hasn’t covered. Like how much to feed our child and how often. It totally ties into the sleep routine so it makes sense.
HIRE ENRICKA. It is not a luxury to have her professional consultation. It is just really awesome support that impacts the whole family. Thank you Enricka!

Enricka saved our lives! When she came to our rescue we were absolute crazy people!
Our previous help had us totally lost and confused with no consistency or strategy whatsoever to deal with our twins. She actually called herself a doula but it is clear to me now that she gives doulas a bad name. We didn’t know any better until we were lucky enough to meet Enricka.
I’ll never forget the feeling that overcame me when she walked into the kids room on her first day. It was clear right away that everything was going to be ok. She empowered us with tools and fixed a schedule that made sense. She also happens to be super cool and great to talk to. She is a great listener which is what I needed during that nutty time in our lives! She’s a natural who was clearly born to do this. Enricka helped us as a night doula with all three of our girls in 2004, 2006 and 2010. We were trepidatious about having some person we didn’t know sleep in our house three nights a week, creeping quietly into our room periodically to wake me up… boy did we come around fast! Having just a warm body in the house to give me confidence that I could check out and sleep a deep unconcerned sleep three nights would have been great enough, but SURPRISE Enricka was actually an angel sent from above. She knew all the tricks to help us through any sleeping/​nursing/​burping/​pooping or other health challenges, and when times were good, she gave us the ability to sit back and enjoy everything without worry. With my first child she helped us to learn the ropes. With my second, I had fallen into some bad habits during my pregnancy (in terms of getting up to soothe the first kid) and she helped us all break those bad habits easily. With my third she helped remind us of all the stuff we had forgotten and… by that time I was easygoing enough that I usually pumped so that I could sleep right through a feeding. She is nurturing to all babies, but is also an absolute joy to be around as an adult, which is nice when you’re up at 2 a.m. and chattering away about books or whatnot while you’re nursing. We didn’t ask her to do any housework… but it’s my understanding that she will help with easy things like folding a little laundry or doing a sink of dishes if she is having an easy night with the baby. The trick is to be open and communicative up front about what her and your expectations are.
We ended up loving her so much that we brought her along to watch my (then 4 month old) baby while we partied it up in Vegas for my husband’s 40^th birthday party. She is dependable, and wise in the ways of babies, but she’s also a whole lot of fun.

Ericka was a life (and marriage) saver with our newborn. She is an expert in helping with newborns. She helped us when our baby was a week old and then again at 3 months. My husband and I were about to fall apart both times, as we were both new to this and didn’t know what to do to soothe our baby. Ericka gave us tools and made us feel confident in what we are doing and had answers for all our questions about burping, sleeping, swaddling, etc.
Enricka has a ton of experience and it shows in what she tells us. She also absolutely adores babies and makes you feel like your baby is the cutest ever. After just an hour with Enricka, we felt like a weight was lifted in our house and we could enjoy our baby even more.

Enricka was an amazing help to my wife and I for the first few months. She is knowledgeable, caring, upbeat, and dependable!

Enricka is very positive, energetic and compassionate. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help my child and I get the sleep that was very much needed. She is very loving and nurturing with both of us and ready to assist 100% with any request and need at any hour. I would highly recommend her. Oh, and not to mention that she is wealth of knowledge.
