Gary Myers Carpet Repair

How often do you find a tradesman who REALLY knows his stuff, assesses things honestly, gives a true estimate, delivers on time and does superb work? Well … Gary Myers is one of those when it comes to carpet repairs!
My wife and I were investigating having a large room recarpeted because of some permanent discoloration in a few places. We decided to have it thoroughly cleaned first. Jose, from Atlas Carpet Cleaning came and, after cleaning it, suggested that it might be repairable by Gary Myers, a man he knew a lot about who makes his living repairing carpets. The thought had never occurred to us — that a carpet could be ‘repaired.‘
I called Gary who returned my message the very next day, came over an hour later — took a look and gave me an estimate. The work was done two days later — on time and on estimate. He is incredibly skillful and realistic in his assessment of what can and cannot be achieved. Because we had no remnants of the discolored carpeting, he cut a piece out from under a couch (that is not apt to be moved) and used it to replace the discolored pieces that he carefully — surgically! — removed. He replaced the unseen area with a piece of similarly tones carpeting.
We are simply delighted. I would recommend Gary to anyone in an instant who was looking for possible alternatives to replacing an entire carpet. This guy is REALLY good and we are also forever grateful to Jose from Atlas Carpet Cleaning for turning us on to Gary.

Gary is truly great at what he does. I have a bunny that had crewed a small section of the carpet and Gary was able to come out next day and fix it in no time. Amazing work can’t even tell the carpet had been patched. Gary is a great guy very nice to talk to and great at what he does I would recommend him to anyone who needs carpet repair.

Originally scheduled an appointment two weeks out to repair a portion of carpet. It was later determined that the carpet needed to be replaced entirely so I called Gary to postpone the appointment and he almost immediately stated «…when someone books an appointment that far in advance he expects they won’t keep the appointment…»; very unfortunate as I had no plans not to use him to replace the entire carpet once the insurance company put the process in motion.

Gary is amazing! I had some pretty bad burns in my carpet and he was able to get them all out! Seriously looks like it never happened. If you ever need your carpet repaired seriously call him! He was so nice too, great guy!

This guy was legit! He repaired a closet for me and even gave me a little lesson on his work. He then fixed another part of my carpet that my cat decided to pee on. Overall his work was outstanding! Plus his is Army vet that can carry a great conversation. Thank you!

Gary is awesome! as well as affordable. He saved us from having to order a whole apartment of new carpeting! We have a rental on our property and a tenant ruined potions of our carpeting. Gary magically, seamlessly saved the damaged areas and pieced those areas back together with remnants. Thank goodness there were spare remnants from an entry closet to repair the damage. I highly recommend Gary and definitely would hire him again and again!

Gary just left my house — he did such a phenomenal job that I felt compelled to write a review.
My only complaint is that I spent 3 hours this weekend trying to fix it myself before calling Gary! I have to admit, I tried to fix it myself, in part, because of the lone bad review by another Unilocal’er. I guess that’s Unilocal.anyone can say anything. I should have just listened to all the other positive reviews and called him right away. You can’t even see where the hole in the carpeting was. Very pleased.

Gary fixed a hole in our carpet that was the size of a golf ball, and now I can’t even tell where the hole was. He’s a miracle worker! I would recommend him to anyone.

Oh my gosh! This guy is wonderful! I just called him to ask about installation of a carpet and he gave me all kinds of great advice regarding what kind of carpet might be best for my space. He definitely went out of his way to help. He is a font of knowledge, and clearly knows his stuff. I will not hesitate to use him when the time comes for installation or repair.

Awesome experience. I called Gary and he was able to come out a few days later to patch a small run in our carpet. It took him almost no time at all, and the results were perfect — you’d never know anything had happened, and the price was totally reasonable.
Plus, Gary is just plain a nice guy. He’s been in the carpet repair business a long time, and I would trust him with any job in the future.

Gary made time in his schedule to come over the East Bay from Marin to take care of a considerable «run» that had developed in my «Berber-​style» carpet in a very visible, high-​traffic area leading in from the garage. He was so incredibly meticulous, gracious and personable that you’d never know that he had to traverse a couple of bridges in traffic and get held up by at least 45 minutes dealing with road construction and getting lost. I can’t say enough about his knowledge, professionalism and workmanship; I’m sure I’ll have him come back to patch up a couple of other spots that have small runs and stains in other parts of the house. Thank you Gary!!! You’ve saved me from even considering replacing my expensive Masland carpet.

Gary was able to re carpet my stairs using the left overs I saved from the initial installation 10 years ago. Initially I was looking at a total carpet replacement, but with Gary’s skillful use of the scraps I saved a bundle. He get an A+ for communication and professionalism.

I have hired Gary on several occasions and I am amazed evertyime he finished a job.
First job: my 2 month old puppy unraveled a section of carpet, it looked pretty hopeless. Gary cut out a section of the carpet, pieced in a new section from a spare piece of carpet I had, and voila, it looked just like new.
Second job: my basement flooded and after the water drained and the carpet dried a section of carpet was hopelessly mildewed. Gary cut out the mildewed section and put in a new piece. Good as new.
Third job: A friend of mine burned the carpet and Gary cut out the burned piece and replaced the section with a new piece.
And all of this was done on a carpet that had a low pile and had a pattern to the pile. It really is amazing what he can do.

Oh my goodness.
Dog rips up carpet. Student believes it will cost her her whole IRS refund to replace said carpet. Then there was Gary.
Confidence has a place and a time and its GMT. He told me over the phone he could fix it and (modestly) suggested that with some wear, it would likely be unnoticeable. When he saw it he said the same thing. When he was done I knew he was a magician.
This man can fix your carpet and save you hundreds — Call him.

Gary is simply the best at carpet repair and stretching. We have older carpets in our home that always seem need stretching out and small repairs. Gary is always there to help out and is a real professional.

I had a run in my Buber wall to wall carpet that needed repair. I found Gary on Google while looking for the numnber of the shop that sold us the carpet in 2003.
I called Gary and he came by the same day, fixed the carpet, and did a great job.
He was on time, worked fast and was super friendly.
It is the first time I have had carpet repair done, the price appeared reasonable to me.
I will use him again if we have another carpet mishap.

I was having a new furnace put in, the installer was soddering the copper tubing, and a spark flew onto my carpeting and burned a hole. What a bummer. There was no way I could just live with it. I was expecting the worse. But, Gary came in to repair the hole and after 30 minutes, I couldn’t even tell you where the hole had been. The guy is an artist. He is a local guy, on time and doesn’t gouge you. I was very very pleased.

From a domestic rabbit’s perspective, a wall-​to-​wall carpet looks like a meadow: densely planted with thick, delicious carpet-​grass that you can pull out by its roots and eat. And once you’re finished ripping up the grass, you can dig in the dirt (ie, foam padding) underneath to try and make a burrow.
If you are a tenant with a security deposit to worry about, however, this rabbit fantasy is a human nightmare.
I didn’t know if what my destructive little darling had done to the carpet was fixable. To give you an idea of how bad it looked, my mother said that the carpet should be taken out back and shot.
Fortunately, though, Gary Myers is a miracle worker.
Gary didn’t have many Unilocal reviews, but the ones he did have were all 5 stars. I gave him a call. He picked up his phone, and was at my apartment two days later to take a look at the rabbit damage. (This was, I must add, the Friday of the 4^th-​of-​July weekend.)
He told me to buy some carpet for my closet, because he was going to use the carpet from inside my closet to repair the rabbit holes. He told me how much I should expect to pay for a carpet remnant. When the carpet place near my house asked for double that amount, I called Gary and he said not to worry about it. He brought over his own piece of carpet, and used that in the closet. (He didn’t charge me any extra for this.)
He came and repaired the carpet within a week. In some places, you can’t see the seam, or tell that the damage was ever there. (In the places where you can tell, it’s because the patched-​in carpet is cleaner than the rest.) The carpet looks great!
In addition to doing great work, Gary is very courteous and personable. He’s honest, a hard worker, and seems like a great guy.

–He has been doing carpet repair for 40 years. He really knows his stuff.
–He’s semi-​retired, but still doing a lot of work.
–He lives in North Bay, but will travel around the Bay Area to work.
–He tells you the price for the repairs up front. It’s not an «estimate» that he could go over if the repair takes longer — whatever he tells you is what you’ll pay. It was great to know up front how much this would cost!
–He prefers to be paid in cash, since several customers have bounced checks recently. He does give receipts.
–He doesn’t know how to use Unilocal,but if you call him on the phone he’ll get back to you very quickly.
–If you’re a satisfied customer, write him a good review! He was happy when I showed him the reviews on here.
–Don’t go to the address listed and look for him; it’s a P.O. box.
The bunny is pretty pissed, because the carpet man has won. His human, however, is very relieved, and grateful to Gary. I’d recommend him with no reservations.

Gary Myers is the BEST carpet repair man I know. He is professional, his 30+ years of experience are unmatched, he is very pleasant to speak with and does the best job on any carpet i have ever seen. I refer him to my clients when they are in need of carpet repair. He can repair burns, rips, thresholds, does stretching, can install carpet and much more. Gary Myers did the most amazing carpet repair. I could have hugged him, because until he showed up, I was sure that I would have to replace the carpet. When he was finished his repair magic, I had trouble finding the two problem areas.
I have Berber carpeting, which is beautiful, but unfortunately unravels when my dog’s little toenails get caught in it. When it happened, I made the mistake of calling the place where I bought the carpet. They sent out a repairman who looked 12 years old. The repair was so terrible and noticeable that I told him to forget about repairing the second area that had unraveled.
Then came Gary, who was referred to me by a carpet store. He removed the bad repair and set to work reweaving both of the problem areas. When he called me back into the room 30 minutes later, I couldn’t believe it. The carpet looks like new again. By the way, both of the rips in the carpet were several inches long and now it’s like it never even happened. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Gary.
