A Perfect Day Spa

I have had two massages here. The first was just kinda OK. I used to do massage so I am fussy as heck.
However, I came back and tried this place again. I had a different lady. She gave me a great massage. And yes, you will get worked hard here. I had hurt my back dropping my motorcycle and picking up 500 lbs of metal. The woman massaging me seemed to find all my tense spots and worked them out. A few times it it hurt a bit in a good way but I breathed through it. She was cutting through a lot of tension. I am sore today but also feel better than I did.
Also, as a person of size (read: FAT) I didn’t feel judged at all. I felt genuine care under her touch. Bonus points for that. I will be back again and request this same woman. I feel much better today than I did yesterday.

Came for the first time and compared to other establishments this one is subpar. Had a masseuse that did not speak English so even when I asked her to be a little softer she continued nailing away. Left the room sore and disappointed. Best part of the massage? She asked me for more tip when I was leaving. Not that I understood her mandarin but after she flashed her five fingers three times and pointed at the tip I assumed she wanted more. I thought $ 10 was perfectly adequate for the experience (and I was being generous). If you do find yourself wandering in here after a long day of work, please oh PLEASE stay away from the one named Monica. I even went to the front desk to complain about her attitude and they plainly said to me, «Next time you come don’t ask for her». Ha! Like there’ll be a next time.

Worse massage EVER!!! I felt bad not leaving tip so I just gave a few but I usually give at least $ 20. I won’t say much about this place since I have nothing good to say. Décor was nice, yes! but not worth the money. I rather pay the same amount maybe $ 20 – 40 more to get a 10 times better massage.
If you like deep tissue to the tenth power than by all means come here. Massages are suppose to make you feel relaxed and rejuvenated and not tense up with extreme pain. I have told the lady nearly 35+ times its too much pressure so she would lessen the pressure than go back double. The massage felt like someone is kneeing you at the same spot ten times. I already feel a few bruises will appear in the next day for sure. The feeling of throbbing pain is horrible. I don’t like writing bad reviews but I came here because I got a gift card for my wedding. Nice thought but right when I read the other reviews I should had given the gift card to someone else.
Note to self, when reviews are bad. It’s a HUGE SIGN that says STOP! Do not consider and stay away.
If you want bruises, pain and more tense than when you walked in do NOT enter. I even cut my massage short because it’s way too much damn pain. So just imagine how much pain I put myself through. Not worth it. Please don’t put yourself through this. Save a little more money and go somewhere worth your while.

I think I’ve been coming to Perfect Day Spa and buying their massage packages since 2006 — starting in their Fremont location; then started going to their Millbrae location in 2012 when I moved to the Peninsula. If you’re looking for a $ 200, 45 minute luxurious massage experience (complete with spa music, eucalyptus scented rooms, cucumber/​strawberry water), this is not the place.
But if you’re looking to pay minimal fees through a package deal, and willing to try different masseuse to find one that fits your style, then you will end up finding a few masseuse to schedule with 7 days a week.
Yes, many of their masseuse do not speak great English, but you can ask the people up front to tell the therapist what you want. They usually get give me the massage I’m looking for… And yes, the girls in the front can sometimes appear aggressive in selling you a package, but their job is to check you in and sell packages.
I like deep tissue massages as well as effleurage style; I use Mark, White, Joe or Ivy in the Millbrae location. I use «Master Young,» David or Vincent in the Fremont location. Yes, sometimes they have been late in getting to me, and it’s usually because their previous client was late.
These people work hard and are doing their best. So please don’t walk out without tipping.
Let’s remember to give them constructive feedback if we’re not happy. Go there expecting to relax and stay in the present moment. If you’re not happy with a service, ask to speak with the manager. I’m sharing these thoughts because I just read some really bad reviews, and I wanted to give another perspective on how to get the most from a Perfect Day spa…

Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
To start with, they offer a couples message but seem to never be prepared for it. There were two other couples there, and all us stood up when one person was called, then the «therapist» would get confused why there was two people, there would be some back and forth with the front desk, and then they would go prepare the room. You would think this was just an oversight until it happened every single time. On top of this, every single message was late. They were calling numbers 10 behind us AFTER we were already late starting our message.
The message itself had no sort of technique. My message (with Rocky) consisted mainly of small circle motions on different parts of my body for an hour. My partner’s «therapist» (Joe) basically just shook him violently throughout the message and he ended up leaving more tense and sore than when we went in.
Finally, when we were leaving, the «therapist» basically followed us back to the front and hovered around us like he was waiting for us to drop stray dollar bills or something. Once we got to reception, they asked how the message was and we told them how bad it had been. They tried to say the person was «too strong» or something, basically making excuses, and kept asking how much we want to tip. They didn’t bother with any sort of discount or anything.
Overall, they seem a big money hungry and the «therapists» seem to have not received any sort of real training.

My gym is next door, so I thought this would be a great spot to get a post workout massage.
The signs adver advertise that you can get massages 430 some dollars. That isn’t true entirely. You have to buy packages of massages and then they equal out to that much. The lady at the front desk was persistent to the point of irritating me by not letting me just buy one massage. I went ahead and bought two. The first massage was nice. The second time I went she told me no therapist was available for an hour, so I left and got something to eat and wasted an hour. I just went back in and she said to me it will be at least another 20 minutes as the therapist have now gone to eat dinner. I’m kind of furious that I wasted an hour and now I have to wait even longer.
Decent massage, really poor customer service. I’ll get my massage and I won’t come back.

Owen, Jack and white are the best they have!!! I’ve been with them for years now. They are not that horrible. It’s better than any massage envy places.

As a «connoisseur» of budget massage parlors, I feel I can write a pretty accurate review of this place. I’ve actually been to multiple locations of perfect day spa and I really want to like this location. This is one of their newer, cleaner locations compared to the Fremont one but the massages are highly lacking.
My masseuse was named Julia and she was very nice and friendly. She brought me into my own private room (which many of the other locations do not have), and I got ready for my massage. As she was about to begin, I told her that I wanted a deep tissue and I want her to focus on my neck and back. Her English was surprisingly good but just to make sure she didn’t screw up my massage, I told her an Cantonese as well to confirm. The massage began with her rubbing lotion on my back which was a great start. 30 minutes into the massage and SHE WAS STILL RUBBING LOTION ON MY BACK! If I wanted location on my back, I’d have my mom do it at the beach. She used the same «moves» over and over again and didn’t do any specific pressure point or add any special techniques that helps loosen my muscles. There was no rhythm or any technique involved at all. It was just her flat palm rubbing back and forth on my back like she was waxing a car or something.
1 hour passed and she didn’t even flip me over on my back so she could do my head. I was pretty disappointed.
Overall, the location is very nice with lots of parking. The facility is clean and the staff is very nice but the massage is terrible. I’ve had better massages by one of those chair masseuses in the middle of the mall where everyone shopping and watch and judge you. I have to add that at the other locations I’ve been to such as Fremont, the massages were EXCELLENT! I’ve been to this location twice and both massages were pretty sub par. Maybe I just had bad luck getting two bad masseuses but as of now, this spa deserves two stars.

I’ve only been here once. From first glance, they’re very clean and professional. I requested a female masseuse and she took care of me. Needless to say I was feeling sore the next couple of days, but the good kind of sore because she rubbed all the knots I had in my neck, shoulder, and back out. :D I would definitely reccommend this place and come back when I’m back in bay area again.

I’ve been coming here for years and this is the last time. They are always late on their massages. The «therapists» don’t speak English so you can never tell them how you like your massage. They’ll change gender preferences last minute.
The sales ladies are way too pushy. We said no three times to the package deals, only to have a different lady come to us in the seating area trying to push another package on us. This happens to us every time we come here and they always make us feel like idiots for not buying the package.
The foot massages are hit or miss. Usually the ladies do a decent job, whereas the men just grind away with no real technique or touch.
The body massages have no rhyme or rhythm to them. It’s usually a mashing session with some light stroking. Very non-​therapeutic.
Customer service is real lacking here. You can tell that they only want your money and give no care about the product you receive. We asked for change for tips. We asked for it in one dollar bills three times and they still didn’t give us the right denominations. This place needs a manager or consultant badly.

You can’t even pay me to come back. When you walk in, it looks clean, looks peaceful and then you check in. The lady pushes and pushes for you to buy packages, then tells you that you NEED to tip at least 15%. Already such a turn off, I had ran a half marathon the day before and I just need to relax. I get called and you walk through this dark grungy hallway, get put into a room and it’s really run down. There are holes in the wall, no décor, and it’s really cold.
The lady who gave me my massage came in chewing her food. WTF! so disgusting! she did that twice.
The whole time i could hear her chewing, she stepped out twice, came back chewing and screaming at the person who she was talking to outside. I really feel like I wasted $ 100.00 I’ll never ever come back here again.

I find it very upsetting that they don’t have too many employees that speak English, I have waited at front desk for almost 20 mins while the employee and her friend talk about who knows what.

Horrible customer service ! Came in to just inquire and the receptionist just kept rambling on with a customer that seems to always go there. I stood there patiently and saw maybe a few masseuses. Asked each one of them if I can ask a few questions and they all said no?! Like what the f? At least be nice to maybe a future customer? I love massages and was hoping this might be my spot since it’s beautiful based on the front room. But really learn some customer service skills because now I won’t be going there and would strongly not recommend anyone else to.

Don’t get suckered into buying a package. I finally used up all of my massage credits and my last massage was horrible. Good riddance.

It’s not bad if you come with the right expectations.
Check them out if you’re in need of a no-​frills massage at a decent cost. The quality will vary based on the masseuse you get, but I’ve never had an awful experience at any of their locations.
I wouldn’t pay full regular price for their massages. I always purchase packages which makes the massages a lot cheaper.
Lately the front desk hasn’t added any pressure to buy additional hours, which used to be my biggest gripe. Maybe they’re reading their reviews!
If you’re looking for a high-​end spa experience with a highly skilled therapist, definitely look elsewhere. You get what you pay for.

I love love love love it here. There’s only one person I choose and her name is Jenny. Absolutely love her, if she’s fully booked on a day I want to go, I’d choose another day. Although she speaks mandarin and we can’t really communicate, I can still show her where I want my focus to be. She pays attention to the spots I say that needs attention.
I always fall asleep though, I love how she massages my head too, my chin, ears, and mainly my skull. Afterwards, I am soooo relaxed!
Jenny is my go to person!

This place it really hit or miss. I have a membership which is well worth it. The place itself is very clean, no frills massage studio. The price of massage for a membership can be around $ 30 – 35 per 60 minute massage. The pros: you can get a great deep tissue message IF you find a message therapist you like, place is clean, price is low, parking is free, it’s next to the gym. The cons: it can be a terrible message if you get a therapist you don’t like, you can hear everything in the hallway, most of the therapists speak very little English which can be challenging if you are asking a question.
Summary: For a nearby place with free parking and low price this place is great! I wouldn’t go here for a spa day or fancy experience. If you are expecting a high end spa day you will be disappointed. If you are expecting a good basic massage and are willing to put up with a noisy and cold environment it’s well worth it.

What a nightmare. If I could give this place zero stars I would.
I’ve been here twice, both times with my mom when I’m in town because she has a membership here I have no idea why. I’ve gotten the oil body massage and the foot massage.
The oil massage was terrible for many reasons. There’s no structure or planning or flow to anything the masseuses do. They’ll massage one arm and then forget the other. There’s a lot of kneading and rubbing with no real purpose. Not to mention a lot of bones grinding on bones-​so painful. Literally elbows into your spine. I remember my massage ending with her nearly yanking my legs out of my sockets. I have no idea what benefits that might have. Can’t imagine what kinds of injuries they’d inflict on older customers.
The foot massage my second time here was the most terrible massage experience I’ve ever had. My masseuse wasn’t applying enough pressure on my neck and shoulders so I kindly asked for more. After ignoring my requests multiple times I just let it go. I settle for the wimpy barely tickling kind of massage. On top of this, the entire time, the chair is not reclined and he makes me sit at the edge, so I can’t rest my weight on anything. I find myself feeling like I’m doing work to stay upright and tensing my back, instead of relaxing and getting a massage.
Then this is what does it: he squeezes a pre-​existing bruise and all I do is flinch. Then he throws his hands up dramatically and storms out of the room (nope, not joking). He comes back with the manager and tells her HE can’t work with ME. WTF?! They bring in another masseuse to finish my massage but at that point I’m so rattled I can’t relax.
Again, it’s a half-​assed massage that consists of a lot of violent kneading and pulling, and a grown man using all of his force to carelessly beat me up. But my mom still has another 15 minutes so I stay.
The manager apologizes and says the first masseuse is one of the most senior masseuses here and isn’t used to customers not liking his style. O… k so… you’re telling me it’s a pride thing? Fucking ridiculous. Never coming back. Nobody here knows what they’re doing and you walk out feeling worse than you did coming in.
Do yourself a favor and get run over by a car before coming here for a massage. Feels the same.

A perfectly run massage machine this place… Make an appointment (they can accommodate a lot of people at once flexibility with your time is a plus), go the spa (plenty of parking available, go underground), walk up and check in. Be ready that they will try to up sell with packages. Usually the packages are decent but it depends if you were ready to drop a couple hundred dollars just for a one hour massage. They are not overly pushy though but do entice you with what they have available beyond your visit. Anyhow, once checked in you don’t wait longer than 5 minutes or so and someone calls our your number. You are taken to a room, you change, and you get your massage. Make sure you have cash to tip the person as you leave the room. The place is clean but if you are looking to be pampered I’m not sure this is your place. If you need a good massage and don’t care too much about the frills and thrills this might be a good place for you to check out.
I’ve been coming here for quite some time. There have been a couple of misses with who I have ended up with but generally I leave happy with my hour and a half massage. They don’t cheat you with your time either.
