Established in 1991.

Fence & Deck Connection was established in 1991 by Jim Rubush & Ben Wolod. At first the focus was on commercial fencing but soon the focus turned to residential fencing, decking, screened porches as well as commercial work. We now have Builder Division, Manufacturing Facility and a new sales location opening up to better serve our customers.

The owners, Jim Rubush and Ben Wolod, established Fence & Deck Connection in 1991. As lifetime Anne Arundel County residents, their commitment to providing the finest customer service in the industry has been instrumental to the success of the company. Fence & Deck Connection has grown from what was once a two-​man operation to one of the leading fence & deck companies in the state of Maryland.

The fact that Fence & Deck Connection has been in business for over 16 years and has over 10,000 completed contracts, with only one (since resolved) registered complaint to the Better Business Bureau and no complaints to the Maryland Home Improvement Commission is testament to their commitment to customer service.

Awesome Company! We are in love with our fence and the company!
David K. from Fence and Deck Connection met us at our home in Southern Maryland and took very detailed measurements of our lot. He went over the product selection with us and made suggestions. He was great, very knowledgeable.
The company made the entire process so easy. I arrived home after work one day and my beautiful fence was nearly complete! A week later, Bob was out at our home to complete a Quality Control check. This company IS ON POINT!!!
I can only say positive things about this company — from the entire staff, to the pricing (completely competitive), to the craftsmanship (I thought my fence rattled and they were at my house the next day to check it out!!), to the customer service. Every aspect is wonderful.

We had a very nice cedar picket fence put in by these guys and we’re thrilled with the results. The price was competitive with or a little better than the other quotes we received.
Our sales rep, David King, was responsive and nice to work with. He was able to work up a quote for us onsite after walking the property, which I really liked. There was no «take it or leave it» pressure, just a matter of fact proposal with David there to answer my questions. For us it was particularly helpful as we already had several quotes in (after waiting 2 – 5 days) from other contractors and knew what the price range should be. We signed the contract and paid the deposit the next day.
The crew was polite and made sure to ask us if they had questions or wanted to confirm something. They were done fencing our .25 acre lot in a day and a half despite intermittent rain and quite a bit of old root structure to deal with when putting in the posts.
We hope to use them again when we revisit our deck situation.

My deck had become a safety hazard, so I called around and got a few estimates. Joel came out and took a look around. We discussed my vision for the deck and my plans for the house, afterwhich he made recommendations on what type of work was a must and what type of work he’d recommend. After I decided on the job, the guys came out and replaced several board that were either cracked or rotting. I check the work when they were done and had a few concerns. I contacted Joel about it on a Friday and he had the guys right back out to address the issue on Monday morning. It was definitely my least anxiety-​producing interaction with contractors of any kind. Too bad they don’t do bathrooms!

I have dealt with Fence and Deck Connection twice now, having them install two different privacy fences on two different occasions. The first was in March 2008 and the next was in July 2015. I knew what I wanted ahead of time and they were able to provide exactly what I requested. Ben Wolod was my contact and he came out and provided me with an estimate, took care of both the city and county permitting process and was quick at placing the order and setting up the installation. I felt sorry for the men who came on July 20, as the heat was over 100 degrees and they worked their butts off the entire day installing the fence. I was able to e-​mail or call and have my questions answered to my satisfaction and I am extremely happy with both fences. I would definitely highly recommend Fence and Deck Connection over any other fence company in the area.

AWESOME COMPANY with AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE & SATISFACTION
Waited a little while to post this review to make sure I was happy with everything. It’s a little long, but they deserve the praise.
It started with their rep that visited my house, Kevin, to go over my project and give me an estimate. I had an issue with my previous fence and the gate swinging out, hitting a hill and getting stuck. Kevin suggested to instead have the gate swing in. It would seem like a simple solution but one that neither I or the other two representatives from two other fencing companies thought of.
When it came to pricing they were very respective in the overall price & financing, but what stood out was their warranty above and beyond the other companies.
The installed fence was exactly what we wanted & done in a timely fashion. It is very well-​built from quality materials.
So you may ask yourself what makes them so awesome? All they did was what they were paid to do. Well that’s not the entire story, during the installation process there was an inadvertent accident by the crew that caused severe damage to my water heater that required an emergency repair. Fence and deck connection immediately rectified the situation and paid for all costs involved without arguing or fighting over the incident as many companies would have. Their customer satisfaction is absolutely outstanding and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an outdoor fence or deck project.
Ask for Kevin, you won’t be disappointed!

Simply put, these guys are fantastic.
We hired Fence and Deck Connection this year to add a screen room and deck to the back of our house. We had a door off the kitchen that opened to a four foot drop into the backyard — not exactly a useful feature. The sales guy came over, clearly explained our options, and mocked up a plan. We went to their showroom in Millersville to take a look at materials and talk over additional options. Everyone there was friendly and helpful!
The entire project was pretty hands-​off for us; they took care of the subcontractors (electrician and gutters) and the county permits. Our neighbor works from home, and told us that she was impressed with how the crew worked. They took extra care not to damage our lawn by propping up the materials on blocks of wood, which I thought was really nice. They cleaned up each day and did an extra good cleaning at the end.
There were a couple hiccups along the way, but the project foreman was on the ball and made sure we were 100% satisfied with the room and deck. He responded quickly to all our calls and emails, and delivered on everything that was promised.
I will admit to having a bit of sticker shock with the initial estimate (this was a our first major home project, so I didn’t really know what to expect), but the money really shows in the final product. Our friends and family have been blown away when they see it!
We already have a fence, but if we didn’t, these guys would be at our house this spring putting one up for sure. 100% pure winners in my book.

We hired Fence and Deck Connection in 2006 to resurface our old wooden deck with composite materials. They did an outstanding job from design to installation. Recently (7 years later) we noticed the decking pulling away from the floor joists. I visited their showroom to discuss the problem, and they assured me the lifetime warranty would cover the cost of repairs. Sure enough, Eric came today and spent the entire morning fixing the problem, taking the time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. As promised, the repairs cost me nothing. Eric even fixed a minor problem with one of the deck lighs.
Follow-​up service of this caliber is rare, indeed. I will confidently recommend these guys to anyone.

These guys are great. Everyone is really friendly and they really went above and beyond to help me get my project done. I was just ordering some parts for our chain link fence to keep a dog in. It wasn’t even a huge order or anything and they still went out of their way to help make sure I was happy and taken care of. Knowing that I was in a bit of a hurry, they even called competitors to see if they could track down the parts for me even faster. One part of the order wasn’t right, and they resolved the issue by bringing the correct part right to me – within the hour! I had a great experience, and I don’t think I’d hesitate to have them come in and do work for me. I feel confident that I’d be taken care of beyond my expectations.
Oh, also, Jeff, in Materials, is totally the man!

Our gorgeous cedar fence was installed today by Fence and Deck Connection. We got three estimates and the estimator that came out really impressed my husband with his professionalism. He answered all of our questions and explained things at length. He also drew a nice diagram of the yard and sent a drawing of the proposed fence with the estimate. Not only are these guys blazing fast but they also do a fantastic job! They even had to dig up a sidewalk that went around the side of the house to put the post in and tie it into the house. They also had to get a post in right next to a tree which was very difficult because of the roots. The hardware on the gates are first rate. Everything is very straight. Everything was cleaned up perfectly. And this was all done in only 7 hours! We are beyond happy. It’s so beautiful I can’t stop looking at it. We would not hesitate to recommend them.
