Common Coin-Op Laundromat

Washer and dryers are always clean and the staff is super friendly! Plenty of washers and dryers and the hours are pretty decent. Sometimes the coin machine is broken though which is a downside.

I’ve used the laundry service once several years ago when our machine at home broke, and it was terrific — everything was clean, nicely folded and packaged, and ready on time! I decided to use the service again due to a stressful time in our house, but when I stopped in late morning today to drop off my heavy bag of clothing, no one was around, so I was very disappointed. If there are specific times for the laundry service, it would be great to have that information posted (and maybe an e-​mail and/​or phone number for the woman who does it). If she ran out for coffee or to do an errand, I would have appreciated a note because I would have gone back.

This is my first choice for doing laundry now that I don’t have laundry machines in my home.
The hours are long on weekdays, short on weekends (although they are open on Sundays until 3pm). Common Coin-​Op is attended in the mornings as far as I can tell. You can drop off laundry here as well, and pick up anytime.
What I like about this laundromat in particular is that it’s very clean. The machines are usually all in well-​working order (although one ate some quarters last weekend).
There are 2 giant machines ($ 5 a load), 4 slightly smaller ($ 4.25) and 2 smaller still ($ 4), and lots of regular washers ($ 2.25 per load).
There are lots of dryers, and they give you 7 minutes of drying time for each quarter. Some machines even ADD time.
The change machine is always working. I haven’t used the detergent vending machine, but that seems in working order as well.
The folding table is large and very clean. They are strict about keeping it that way.
There is a bench near the door and a few chairs for while you wait, but we usually pop over to Bagels Best for a coffee or breakfast. Sometimes, we run some quick errands (there’s a hardware store across the street and the library just down the street). We’ve never had problems with people moving or stealing laundry, or our bins and detergents.
I’m leaving one star off because the attendants are pretty nosy and a bit bossy re: how I’m loading the machines. I feel like I’ve done enough laundry to know how, you know?
FYI no Canadian quarters! They break the machines.
