Hanna’s Mechanical Contractors Inc.

My great aunt passed away, so my extended family had to take care of selling her house. One of her bathroom toilets was leaking, and we had to keep a little cup underneath to protect the floor. (gross). Her central air conditioning just never seemed to actually work anymore. We had to get everything fixed before we could sell the house, and we felt swamped between packing up her old things, doing general repairs, painting, etc. We needed a contractor who would work quickly, efficiently, and for a good price.
The house is in Milltown, NJ, which is far away from where any of us lived, and it was difficult when I would call most contractors, because they would tell us we need to wait a few days, but that would mean one of us having to drive all the way back to Milltown and spending so much extra time and gas, We needed the repairs done ASAP, so I went on Unilocal to do some research, which is when I found Hanna’s.
I went ahead and looked at their main website, and I was surprised that they actually do pretty much everything: plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. I had expected to be calling a few different contractors all day, but they told us they could give an estimate, and the contractor was able to come over to the house within a couple hours THAT SAME DAY. (I can’t tell you how happy we all were about that.)
The toilet was leaking, so they installed a new wax ring underneath, and it totally fixed the problem. It turns out the air conditioner had frozen over, because my aunt would keep it on all day long, even when she was out of the house, for her dog. So both issues were fixed quickly. These were big issues that I was really worried about, and now I feel so relieved that we are one step closer to getting this house on the market.
I highly recommend Hanna’s Mechanical, especially if you live in the Central Jersey area. It turns out they do both commercial and residential, so it seems like they can help you with pretty much any level of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.

Talk about quick service! My central heat decided not to work on the coldest day of the year. I called Hanna’s, Barbra answered and was very helpful. She forwarded me to a tech who then came to my house and solved the problem. Professional young crew who were very respectful. The price wasn’t outrageous and they do CLEAN work. Very professional. I recommend this place for anyone or business.

I like family owned businesses especially when they take pride in their work. So I have no shame in saying that I know nothing when it comes to any large appliance in my basement. I guess I was putting off turning on my heat because I was in denial that winter was upon us. Anyway I go to turn it on and it’s not working… problem. I call the big name company and tell them they need to come take a look. Their technician told me I had to replace this and that and if I didn’t it would be dangerous and so on and oh this will cost 8,000… Wow so I decided to get a second opinion. I heard about Hanna’s through mutual friends that said they did a great job. I called and they were able to come that day. I explained what had happened and they said they would take a look. So very long story made a bit shorter Hanna’s technician explained it was an easier problem to fix and they quoted me pretty much half what the other guys said. Well this all happened in late September and I’m happy to report my heater is still working perfectly. I definitely recommend them. It’s hard to come by honest workers these days.

Beware! Our A/​C has now been broken for over 4 weeks because this company keeps coming back and simply refilling the AC with free-​on instead of actually fixing it. The receptionist Barbara is extremely rude and doesn’t communicate well over the phone. The repairman is always late (they’ve been here 4 times already and always show up 2 hours late), he also smells of smoke and drags dirt all over my living room floor. It’s extremely frustrating to deal with this company when it’s 85 degrees and all I want is for them to fix my AC. They ordered a part supposedly 3 weeks ago, it’s still not in so we are suffering in the heat. Their «emergency» phone number goes to a cell phone for the manager who never calls back. Every time I’ve left a message to check on this part, I never get a call back and as a result I have to deal with the receptionist, Barbara, who instead of answering questions, always says «I don’t take threats well». Ugh… How frustrating!!!

We recently moved into a rented townhome in Franklin Park, NJ and these contractors were given to us through American Home Warranty. We had an emergency repair that needed to be done as a toilet was leaking through the floor from our upstairs into the dining room and we had a sag in the ceiling literally filled with water! They were able to squeeze in my request and had someone over within a few hours. Not only was the person who serviced us, by the name of Carlton, friendly, prompt, and thorough, he also told us what to do with the sag in the ceiling as well as checking out the toilet in the other room.
