Okay, I used to go to this place. Dr. Cheung’s skill is good. I have to say I never had any complication when he pulled my wisdom teeth and did my fillings. He did some upsell but never pushy.
Now, why the two stars. Because I can’t stand the front desk manager, Elaine. Instead of being sympathetic, understanding that I need to do a Root Canal that costs $ 2000.00 out of my own pocket with no insurance. She was rude and bitchy and told me rudely that I can go shop around if I want. Uh, I was dumb found and left and booked my appointment with Pearl Smile Dental in Milpitas.
I think someone like her should not sit in the front and be the manager there, since she doesn’t know what customer service is and how to win the business but rather push the business away. I truly feel sorry for Dr. Cheung and wonder how much business he could have without her…

I came to this Dental office today, below is my experience of this office. I made an appointment a week ago, and I told them one of my teeth was breaking, so I wanted to know what kind of treatment I needed. They said I needed an appointment to take the X-​ray and after the doctor saw the X-​ray photo they will let me know. I also asked how much it will cost. I still remember and am very sure that they said they won’t charge me anything for the X-​ray. They will let me know about the cost of treatment they will let me know later.(I kind of have an idea that usually the X-​ray is not free, but since they say that I have no reason to pay) I think that’s nice, so I made an appointment (I think it’s for the X-​ray). I also talked to them: please let me know what I need to do about the breaking teeth, if everything goes well I will do and pay for the treatment at your place. Everything looks good until this morning, the appointment time is 10:00 am, since there is a lot of traffic on I880 this morning, I was about 10 minutes late. When I came in I said: sorry, I am late. They said it’s OK, so I am still going to finish my appointment today. They ask me to fill out the form first. The interesting thing is that they did their work like this: the manger sat on the side and use low voice to say «fill the form», and the front desk girl pass the form to me.(I understand, maybe the girl is just new) but what it not good is: no one asked me if I have any insurance and explain what I am going to do and how much it will cost today before I saw the doctor. The front desk girl let me go inside and have a seat, I still don’t know what they were going to do at that time. Then one person looks like a nurse came to me, she is very nice. I asked her how long it will be take (since I need to go to work later.) She said it will take about 30 mins and I was late. I said I think I am here for the X-​ray only, she was like Oh! you here for the x-ray?(so interesting they don’t know that) I wonder what they put on the notes for my appointment. She almost did a deep cleaning for my teeth. I mean I am fine for a deep cleaning but I need to know why and be notified. Then a young lady Doctor came, and explained my teethes problem about 5 mins. After that they ask me to go to the front desk for checking out, and the manger told me it’s $ 35 today for the X-​ray, I am fine with paying but the most important part is why they told me differently when I made the appointment and no one explained anything to me before and they are not sure why I am here. So what’s my appointment for?

My whole family goes to this clinic for routine dental service. The dentist is nice and the service is good. It is highly recommended.

I had a great experience with my extraction of wisdom tooth. They made me feel very comfortable, and I had no complication later on either because he is experienced and does a good job. Also, I had to have it done at short notice because it was sort of an emergency as the filling broke in. I would recommend this dentist for extractions to whoever needs it. He was gentle and I had no infection later on. You really have to find the best dentists yourself in California, and he is one of the best.

I’ve seen Dr Cheung for my dental checkups and deep cleanings for the last 6 years. He is very gentle when it comes to teeth cleaning and deep cleaning of the gums.

The whole family goes and sees Dr. Cheung and we have been doing so for years. Whether it is a routine teeth cleaning, filling cavities, molding dentures for the parentals, Dr Cheung seems to do it all!
Dr. Cheung is a great dentist because he is attentive to your needs and has good dentist chair manner. I don’t know too many people who enjoys going to the dentist, but Dr. Cheung makes the whole procedure less scary and intimidating. He will answer any questions you have and not to mention he is a nice guy with a good sense of humor to boot!
However, I must not forget the person who runs the front office like a well oiled machine… Elaine! She is always friendly and helpful. Besides billing, gathering your insurance info she helps you make the appointments and will often be the same person who calls to remind you of your appointment with Dr. Cheung.
