E-Waste Recycling Center

I’m slowly clearing my garage of leftover stuff from several relatives who have passed. It used to be free to bring electrical appliances here, but now they charge $ 5 to accept household e-​waste, so I won’t be bringing all that stuff here anymore. Still paying for TVs and computers I believe.

After posting my original review on Friday, I received a call the next day. E-​waste had decided to pay the $ 3 per computer I was originally quoted. I was told the manager would call on Monday. He called on Monday and left a very nice, detailed message explaining what had happened. After several years on the job, a key employee left suddenly without giving notice. The company had to scramble using temporary employees until a replacement could be hired. New checks had to be ordered for the new employee. I visited E-​Waste Recycling in the middle of this transition and was quoted the $ 3 per computer by a temporary employee. Since the mistake was made by an E-​waste employee, they’re honoring their original quote.
I believe the company is doing the right thing so I’m upgrading my review from one star to five stars. A mistake was made, but E-​Waste took responsibility and corrected the mistake. I plan to use them for my future recycling needs.

Bad experience. Feel they pulled a «bait and switch» on me.
The E-​Waste Recycling Center’s web site said the Milpitas location was open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10−2pm. On Wednesday 7÷8÷2015 I went the site at 10 AM but it was closed. I returned about an hour later and the doors were open. I dropped off a 55″ LCD TV, three cell phones, and a small computer. I told the employee I had between 30 and 40 more of the small computers and had brought one in as a sample to obtain a price quote. I received a receipt for $ 5 for the TV, $ 1 for each cell phones, and $ 3 for the small computer. Because they weren’t «officially open» on Wednesdays, I’d have to come back another time to get my $ 11 check. No problem, I was planning on coming back with more computers anyway.
On Saturday July 11^th I returned with 37 small computers (identical to the one I had previously dropped off). I received a receipt for the computers, but a different employee told me she would need to contact her manager to value the computers. She also told me they were «out of checks». She asked for my phone number and said she would call me. Not a good feeling at this point.
A week later on Friday July 17^th, I called to inquire. I was told the manager was on vacation and I would hear from them next week. Now, I was wondering if I’d ever receive anything.
On Saturday July 18^th, I received a call. They informed me they would pay $ 1 per computer and asked if I wanted to come back in for the check or have them mail it to me. The sound of «the checks in the mail» was not very appealing, so I drove down to the Milpitas site once again and collected a check for $ 57.00. I’m happy to receive a check, but $ 57.00 doesn’t add up. The original $ 11 plus 37 computers @ $ 1 would be $ 48. At $ 3 per computer it should have been $ 122.00 (Yes I used a calculator). How did they come up with $ 57.00???
So, the web site has been corrected. The employees were friendly and basically did what they said, but I was told the computers were worth $ 3 and then paid only $ 1. To me this amounts to a bait and switch. I’ll let you know if I hear from the manager…

The staff is really really nice. I have my 5 bucks back for a 15inch monitor from last century… The parking lot is under construction at the time I was visiting, takes me some time to find the exact number…

Great place to drop off your electronics. Super nice girls working there — easy to find, easy to park. I will continue to bring any old electronics here.

Great place for getting rid of old electronics. I dropped off an old computer monitor, miscellaneous electronics and cd’s. They gave me $ 5 for the monitor. The whole process was simple, easy and quick.

Like this place to dump old electronic and electrical item — no charge to drop them. Yes Free of cost — they accept working — non-​working condition. Just drop them. Friendly Receptionist. They also provide receipts of collected items.
I also see they are paying some $ for monitor, laptop etc.

Old electronics sitting there collecting dusts? Recycle them and get them a second life! In n out in 10 min, it sure is a speedy process! And oh, you get paid to recycle too ;)

I have quite a few electronics that I no longer want to keep (too old or too bulky). I searched online for a better way to get rid of them and noticed this E-​waste center. Since I live in Milpitas I emailed the company and got a quick response from Eddie. They came over my place as scheduled and picked up all the items. Very convenient for me and hopefully they can make some good use of the items than myself.

Great customer service! I was very surprised to come in and find out I was getting paid to bring old tv’s in. I’ll definitely be here again!

Just dropped off several computers, monitors and various other things that had been cluttering my garage. The manager was very nice, helpful, and quickly took care of my items and sent me on my way with some money too! Can’t beat that! I would suggest turning into the complex right before you get to Wrigley as the business is in the back of the building when you enter off Wrigley and it did take me a while to find it. It was worth the search though! Thanks very much for your help!

They should pay for recycling all goods not just certain items! But I got paid for a computer monitor and if you check into Unilocal and show the worker, you get free $ 5. 5 bucks may not seem like much but hey times are hard, 5 can go towards gas money lol. Anyways this place was kind of hard to find because its all businesses/​warehouses but its located in the back of the building. Just pull up into their open garage and workers will check your stuff out and give you a quote. Once your done unloading they write out a check for the value of your stuff.

I found these guys by googling recycle… doesn’t get any easier. Took our dinosaur tv and they paid us! Convenient. Friendly, great customer service, open Saturdays! cant get any better than that!

Dropped off my old computer and walked out with a check for lunch. Score! Simple, easy and environmentally friendly.

I drove from S. San Jose to drop off my 46″ DLP TV and two broken printers.
Location is very convenient, only a few minutes away from the Great Mall and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I like the fact that some of the repaired electronics get donated to non profit organizations.
Also, I got $ 15 for my DLP TV which is very nice. I don’t know of any other place paying you cash for your broken DLP TV which takes up space in your garage.
I have found my go-​to E recycling Center.

Great customer service. Simple and easy no complications. Just drop off supplies and if you’re lucky get some money then head on out. The lady running the store is really nice and makes your visit as simple as possible. For sure will be returning again.

Wow, today my son and I found a place to take our old monitors and old towers and got the money we wanted! Bring your old TV here. The best discovery I have made in a long time. A sweet woman will greet you and encourage us to come back. Awesome ! Thank you E-​Waste Recycling.

Great Green Business. I loved the fact that I can recycle my old electronics safely and get paid for it.
I took couple of my TVs here and got a very prompt resonse for the the manager, She was very sweet, helpful. Immidiately I got the cash for the old TVs. I always thought you have o pay to get rid of old Tvs, now you can get Cash for it. Thats Awesome.
