Happy Smog Check

Went here said he could do my smog for a title transfer. Then coukd not because he said my Catalyst converter he needed a part number for i didn’t have it on me went home to get it. Then he told me didn’t look like it went with the car even though he just eyeballed it. When i brought the invoice back from a muffler shop with the part number on it he told me he would not pass me. He would not even look at the paper work. Told me to go to the 76 station. I told catali the 76 station would not do it because my car was lowered. I think it was because he was to busy texting who ever. It was a waste of my time. He was rude and helpful at all. I would not recommended this shop to anyone. Funny i had had it smog before after the catalyst converter was installed last time with no troubles. I think he just didn’t want to do it.

This was my worst experience with a smog check!!! I have gotten it done here before and it was a different man, who was polite and a good technician. But now it’s a different man and he is racist, impolite, and has no skill for this job. So far all the people that I know and have gone there recently have said he is racist and sometimes even charges more because your not Vietnamese!!! Overall I suggest people not to go there because of this worker!

I usually take my car here for mechanical stuff like repairs or checks. They are always very nice and willing to help. I’ve gone to get my tires rotated and I get helped right away rather than having to wait too long. Now I’m just getting a smog test and I got helped right away just upon getting here. Definitely my go to place cause it’s right next to home.

This was the only place opened in the late afternoon on a Saturday!!! So if you’re like me and don’t have time during the weekdays/​likes to sleep in on the weekends, this place is probably your safest bet. I called ahead to confirm that there will be a discount so the total ended up being around $ 50. After I hung up I drove right over and my smog check was done within 15 – 20 minutes.
I was the only person there so it was very quick! It’s located right next to the Shell gas station so make sure you don’t over look it! The man who worked there was very friendly and even gave me a chair to sit on while I waited.

Nice guy and friendly service. I can not vouch for the other negative reviews, but I did my smog check for $ 50 as quoted on the phone. I called the other places and they were around the same price or more, but I chose this place since its the closest to me. Been here twice and had no problems.

Super fast and only $ 45 for my Suburban! In and out in 15 minutes… Great experience!

DECEITFUL.
I went to get my 1999 Plymouth Voyager smog checked at Happy Smog Check in Milpitas. I am not happy.
I had one of their «$ 15 OFF» coupons as shown on Unilocal.I very carefully asked the price of their smog check for my van before I showed the coupon. I was told $ 55 for a total — including certificate. So let me do the math: $ 55 minus $ 15 = $ 40.
I then waited for 25 minutes while he took care of two other patrons before me. He then went and got my car — seeing the $ 15 off certificate sitting on the passenger seat.
He then got my paperwork and told me: «The smog check is $ 75, and I’ll give you $ 20 off that price. BETTER than with your coupon». But of course he had quoted me $ 55 as the price without the coupon.
I wish you could have seen his demeanor and face as he did this. He looked guilty as hell — knowing he was reneging on his price and cheating me.
As my father always told me (to quote Maverick): «I’d not trust this guy as far as I could throw him».
I would not recommend patronizing this operation — too untrustworthy. I wasted 25 minutes on his deceit.

I decided to give this place a call because they mailed me a coupon for $ 15 off their smog check.
I made a call to them and a guy answered the phone who seemed to know what he was talking about. I said I had a BMW such and such. He quote me a price. I said I had his grand opening mailer coupon for $ 15 off and he said, sorry we don’t take that. He said he already quoted me the lowest price. I explained that he mailed me this coupon and it did not expire according to the coupon. He insisted he would not accept it. I could tell his price was reasonable which was not necessarily more or less than other smog places. I was just upset he would not honor his coupon.
I mentioned that I would call back later in the week to get my car in as I would have more time.
During my second call, I said I wanted to make an appointment to come in as his price was still mid range and the location was close to my house. I gave him the make and model of my car and then he said he cannot test my car. That got me more upset as I said I just called in a few days ago and they said they could smog my car.
This just made me do more work in searching for another smog check station.

Just have regular smog check, fast and cheap!
Make sure you mention Unilocal to get $ 40 out the door !!

I received one of those SMOG at test ONLY station before i can renew my cars registration. I checked around and most places charge $ 50-​$ 60 for it. Looked around and found Happy Smog Check which was having a special promotion with coupon for $ 40.
The price varies if you don’t mention the Unilocal ad, or print out the coupon.

Excellent service and very speedy! The whole process took 10 minutes and there was no wait. If you need a smog check and in the area, I would definitely recommend Happy Smog.
