This hole in the wall restaurant has the best Hyderabadi Biryani in Bay Area. Love their cut-mirchi and chicken hariyali too.

Their Dum biryani is the best in bay area. It is spicy and has authentic flavors and fragrance. The curries are not great.

The Biryani is definitely top notch in the area. It’s a great place to get food to-go, not so much for eating in. Call in about 20 minutes ahead of time and they’ll have your order ready. Chicken and Mutton Biryani are both equally great.

I consider briyani to be my most fav food on earth. I got goat dum briyani, Apollo fish and chicken 65. The briyani was greasy and spices were not cooked in right, so was the fish n chicken. Gave us all bad stomach the following day. We eat spicy indian food almost every day. This food was terrible.

Loved their Biryani! True to their name, truly reminded of Hyderabad. This small location serves one of the best Biryani’s in Hyderabad.

This place is a hidden jem in Milpitas. If you are craving biryani, this is the place to go. The location isn’t all that great, located off Calaveras and Park Victoria behind a 76 gas station. It is in this tiny strip mall that has seen better days. The décor inside is not much to be desired for either. Not a place to bring your date to impress him or her, but having said all that, their briyani is seriously bomb dot com. I’ve had my fair share of briyani from a variety of Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, and this place just seems to do it right with all aspects of a flavorful briyani. The rice is perfectly cooked, the meat is tender and everything is perfectly seasoned. They will ask how spicy you want it: mild, medium or spicy. I have tried their chicken and their goat briyani, I am partial to the goat as I find it has better texture and flavor. I actually haven’t ventured out too much of their menu except their briyani. Also, I just get the food to-go and I can literally have 3 good size meals from one order of briyani, so the prices are definitely reasonable and portions are better than average. Service with a smile when ordering or paying for the food. Definitely give this a place a try the next time you have a briyani craving.

Best hyderabad biryani in bay area. Good customer service. Most of the items are very good. Biryani portion is big. High 5.

Was visiting the south bay for work so thought I’d swing by this place afterwards for lunch. It’s not exactly a hole in the wall but it’s not large either — 4 tables for 4 inside and 2 more outside. It wasn’t much of a wait to get a table though since a lot of people come for take-out. I’m a huge fan of lamb/mutton so had to get the Hyderabadi Mutton Dum Biryani because duh, it’s the house special. It comes in a small copper pot/bowl with the mutton on the bottom and the rice cooked on top. They provide a really good raita to cool down or additional hot sauce as well. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to scoop stuff out or just the whole thing upside down onto my plate. I chose to scoop stuff out because I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to be able to eat the whole thing. Though this turned out to be a bit messy as the rice was piled out and would just spill out all over the table(I guessed this might be okay since there was a lot of rice on the other table tops). Wow. This stuff is so good! Perfectly cooked rice that gets spicier as you go down to the mutton stewed at the bottom. At the top I was adding the hot sauce but by the time I made it to the mutton was I pouring the raita all over everything. And I had only gotten the medium hot(note: this is true Indian spicy!). I can’t speak to how authentic it was but it was very tasty and unlike any Indian food I’ve had before. The copper bowl doesn’t look that big but it holds quite a lot of food. I took half of my order home. And the folks working here are super nice! I didn’t feel rushed eating here by myself even as larger groups walked in looking for tables(it didn’t anyone more than 5 min to get seated).

This place was not good. Not sure why it is rated so highly. The biryani wasn’t even that. Basically, for the biryani, the chicken is not cut up at all. Whole thighs and wings are what you will find in the biryani — lots of bones. As the meat is the seasoned part — it means less surface area for the rice to absorb the spices. Don’t get me wrong — the biryani is decent/average — but having whole pieces of chicken in it really ruins it. The seasoning is all stuck on the meat and very little in the rice. The REALLY terrible part was the chicken dishes I ordered — Chicken Hyderabad and Chicken Chettinad. The chettinad was sweet! And the Hyderabad is probably going to be thrown down the trash — it is barely edible. Maybe new management or an off day but I will definitely not be going back.

Staying nearby, I decided to grab my order for carry out. This tiny, slightly run down place was a bit hard to find on the back side of a strip mall. As I walked in, I was greeted by very friendly staff where my order was hot and ready on arrival. The dining room was clean, but it is definitely not a destination. Once home, however, I could not wait to dig in. I highly recommend Gobi 65, which is a spicy yogurt cauliflower dish. If you’re a vegetarian who desperately misses eating chicken wings, you must order this dish! In addition, the egg biryani was perfect in every way. While the garlic naan was tasty, it was a little soft after traveling home as it clearly steamed in the foil wrap. All in all, I am looking forward to going back to Hyderabad Dum Biryani. Great food, great service.

Woah! This place is a hole in the wall which completely blows your mind away with some of the best authentic hyderabadi biryani. Whether you get the vegetarian or the chicken biryani both are excellent, well flavored and simply delish! I do not recommend getting other dishes from here simply cause the biryani is to be savored above the rest of the dishes

Mutton biryani looked great. Pieces soft, rice was good to look at BUT too dry, and couldn’t feel the freshness in the spices. Even worse the fried onions felt so old and they were a sore in every bite. Felt like someone was trying too hard to save up by buying cheap ingredients. Cut mirchi was just ok.

«Hi there buddy!» I said as I ordered their signature Hyderabad dum mutton egg biryani for takeout. Bollywood played on their TV, there’s about 5 tables of 4, and the biryani came out piping out in about 10 minutes. Huge portion and it came with two sauces, curry and a yogurt. Light and fluffy basmati rice with chunks of mutton. Mutton is basically older lamb, so it was a little tougher with some small bones. Would have liked more meat for the price so I think I’ll try the chicken next time. If you’re a heat seeker you’ll definitely like this. I ordered spicy and it’s definitely spicy. I was addicted to both heats, temp and spice. An addictive slow burn that hurts so good. Definitely tasted legit. Wish it was closer so I can explore more of their menu.

drove into Milpitas looking for Marina Grocery. found this place. why not try? 5 tables for dine in. lots of take outs. bollywood on screen. huge variety on menu. biryani stood out from recent experience. entrees pricey? eats: Hyderabad Dum Vegetable Biryani(8.99) –huge portion, 32 oz. came with yogurt and curry like sauces –ordered mild, tasted spicy in spots, maybe it’s from the sauce. –vegetables: pumpkin, peas, carrots, beans –biryani is basmatic long grain rice and ? –heavy saffron taste, spices too. –very filling-literally took 8 hours to eat in(along with other stuff) take outs: –guessing portions are large proportional to pricing –took a bit of time-take out orders –would repeat, no aftertaste beyond the spices. service above average. –bollywood is so «love at first sight». –patrons all indian/pakistani save for 2 asians and a white guy.

Glad to find yet another good biryani spot in the bay area. Hyderabad Dum Biryani is definitely a must try place for all Biryani cravers. One of our friend suggested this restaurant and for obvious quoted reasons as below, it’s a hit in our 1st try. Food — I recently checked in here for dinner along with my husband. Had Vegetarian dishes, viz. Cut Mirchi for Appetizer; Dal Tadka, Butter Naan, Hyderabadi Egg Dum Biryani for the Main course & Mango Lassi for the dessert touch. Have never tried fried peppers i. e Cut Mirchi anywhere before and felt it tasted great, crispy and well fried. Butter Naan was soft & rich, can’t ask for more. Rest of the items Dal Tadka, Egg Biryani were decent too, freshly cooked & tasted delicious. There are places where even Mango Lassi can disappoint you easily. But, that’s not the same here as it tasted ‘Yum’ for sure. Price — As you can see from the Menu card picture posted by a fellow Unilocaler, prices are nominal. As far as items that we had tried, it’s worth paying for. Ambience — It’s a neat & clean place, having around 5 tables inside &3 outside. It’s small yet busy restaurant. Staff & Service — Both serving person & staff at the counter was helpful, attentive & served items quickly without any much delays. Overall — I recommend this place. It’s worth a shot. Hope to comeback to try more !

Hyderabadi biryani joints are like southern BBQ joints in that everyone has got their own recipe which they claim is better than the rest and you have ardent fans of every establishment. So it is hard to proclaim one biryani establishment is the best. From a amateur biryani eater POV I see biryani’s falling into three broad categories: one’s that are lightly flavored where the meat stands out, ones that are aggressively flavored(the biryani of peacock) and the ones in between. This biryani is somewhat mildly flavored(ordered medium spice level) and reminds me of the Paradise biryani from Hyderabad(not the one in Santa Clara). The medium spice variety of the biryani will sit well with the american palette without overpowering it too much. Service was swift and food piping hot. I would like less rice and bit more meat. The condiments accompanying the biryani are flavorless and could use a lot more attention. I would definitely revisit when I am in this part of the town.

Ordered the house special Hyderabadi mutton dum biryani for $ 12.99. The dish is served with very long grain that looks like stretched basmati rice with some other seasonings. Accompanying the dish are two sauces. One yogurt and the other a spicy sauce. Mutton come in three levels of spiciness(mild, medium and hot) hidden under the bed of rice on the bottom of the copper pot to be scooped out on to the plate prior to consumption. Single serving is quite substantial which can be shared among two people unless one is extremely hungry. Great food, good service. Restaurant interior can only accommodate 20 patrons. Some outside seating available. Lots of take out orders.
