Little Frank is a survivor! Yeah, someday(probably soon) they’ll close, but until then, drink up! Always an eclectic mix of old folks, young people, parolees, skanks, and whiteboys listening to rap music. Service depends on the bartender(they don’t last long at Little Franks). The owner tends to hire help based upon their«assets» rather than their ability to pour drinks, but bottom line: great neighborhood bar.

Nooooooooo!!! If you don’t know anything about Frank and his struggles with the city of Milpitas, click any of the links below Sadly, it looks as if the City of Milpitas has won. As of Monday, the city will have the doors locked. Please stop by sometime between today and Sunday. Show some love for a local dive bar that was a fun little hole in the wall for so many and a thorn in the side of the already uppity Milpitas police.

Yes, it’s a dive bar but it’s also an institution in Milpitas. Unfortunately, get ready to say goodbye… Frank is finally closing the doors.

3.5, rounded down to three. Milpitas is my hometown, I am proud to say so and I will never deny it. Although while living there I must say I never really deviated from a chain or enjoyed the ma & pa establishments as I should have. So when I turned 21 I hit D&Bs, never did I think I’d go to the dive underneath the Calaveras/237 overpass. Now being 25 I’m over the whole scene and would like to just go to a bar with a decent selection when I visit home, Little Franks is the place. It serves a wide range of customers and although it looks intimidating from its dark exterior its actually quite welcoming inside. There’s a jukebox, a pool table, a pole for those of you who would like to use it, and a few dart machines. The regulars can get pretty belligerent as I have noticed last Sunday, but its nothing but drunk-love. I drink vodka and pineapple juice. When the bartender uses bottom-of-the-barrel-vodka its only $ 2.50, tell me thats not worth the extra half star.

Reading just the title you think its so cool ass bar with loads of space. I mean it sounds like it’s gotta since it’s a «Bar & grill» But it’s really just a dive bar. Its one room thats wide. You walk in, one table to the right, darts on the right, tv in the corner right. You look to the left, 3 tables to the left, a dancing pole, one pool table in the back, bathrooms also in the back. Bar is in front of you stretching left to right. I came on a monday night which was karaōke night. It was pretty cool because obviously people are shy so they try to get people singing by offering drink tickets. Me being the cheap asian girl i am shot my arm in the air without thinking. I ended up singing Fiona Apple — Criminial right after i downed my shot of goose. If you do come right on karaōke night, order a drink before the bartender sings or youre gonna have to wait till shes done. Nothing too exciting, a pretty chill place. Don’t think i’d go back though. For dive bars I prefer Evie’s in Dublin.

They offer a shuttle service home for those that don’t want a DUI so we called ahead to make sure it was running and they said ‘yes’. So we go out, have to many drinks and ask for the shuttle. They said ‘shuttle guys sick today, no shuttle’ So we ask them to call a cab, ‘no cabs available, they won’t come here, they are all at Dave & Busters’. I’m pissed off because I had to walk my drunk ass 2 miles home and I was freaked out thinking I was going to get picked up for drunk in public and taken to jail. Bartender was a snooty @#$@#. I know she could have called a cab and just didn’t want to bother. Her drunk friend then said she would give us a ride, but we decided it was safer to walk, risk of jail and all. The two stars is because I’ve been there once before and had a good time but this time they don’t deserve any.

Besides the bridge location and the MIlpitas Police, I would say it’s a very friendly bar. Being a Milpitas native, I enjoy going by there to meet familiar faces in Milpitas. Workers are nice.(especially when lil franks decides to give a shot to every customer.) To some Milpitas high school Alumni, warning you might see your teachers getting drunk there. Good place to find drinking buddies when your in Milpitas.

This bar isn’t surrounded by much, but I give it a solid two stars, has a juke box, you can bring in outside food and they also serve typical bar fare burgers, fried stuff, etc. It is a bar full of regulars, bartender was nice, but it was really annoying to sit with my drink empty trying to get her attention while she gossiped. Everyone was talking about how she had been fired and rehired several times — maybe because you aren’t tending bar. The owner talked to everyone, but didn’t say sheit to my friend and I, which I thought was kind of rude. The patrons were fun, it seems very working class, it completely cleared out about 6:30−7. That was interesting. My friend and I had a good time, but we wouldn’t go out of our way to head back.

My first Unilocal review! wooo I’ve lived in Milpitas for a little over a year now, and I would drive by Little Frank’s at least once a week and be compelled to go in, but unfortunately no one else would really want to go there and just opt to go to DnBs instead. Sure it is literally underneath a bridge, not surrounded by much, and isn’t the most attractive bar I’ve ever seen, but it’s what inside that counts right? The San Jose area is cram packed with clubs, long lines, cover charges, and irritable bouncers and Little Frank’s is the place to go when you need a break from all that. A friend and I went there on a Friday night around 8pm and it wasn’t that busy and seemed to be full of ‘regulars’. It could be intimidating at first but the bartenders and regulars are super friendly and nice. The drinks are well priced and the different alcohols are organized according to price which is very helpful and other bars should take note. Also, there’s a jukebox, pool table, and a couple of electronic dart boards. TV is ok, I wouldn’t come here to watch a big game though. I didn’t get the chance to try out the food but from the bar standpoint I’d give it the standard 3, and recommend it to anyone who lives in Milpitas and needs a break from driving to downtown San Jose all the time!

Been here several times, but never found the bartender with the«knockers»(not that i went for that reason). It is a nice bar, not very crowded. Seems like most patrons are regular customers. I heard they are being forced out of this place by the city(due to being too close to an upcoming library or something)

i wanted my first review here on Unilocal to be about a place that meant something to me the first time i went to frank’s was when some some people i had drunkenly met that night in downtown san jose told me to come with them to frank’s. i told them that although it was my fourth year in college, there were still a few things i had yet to see, like a bar fight. one of the guys i went with guaranteed we would see some wild shit. i dont think we were there for longer than… 45 mins before these two girls decided to go at it brawling. ridiculous. thats a point. the two bartenders that were working the bar – crazy amounts of hot. another dude i was with went into this elaborate story about this one time he had shacked up with both of them. at the same time. they looked pretty scandalous so i believe him. thats another point. so, later on i gotta break the seal and head over to the bathroom. obviously the toilet is clogged with vomit among other bodily fluids. thats one more point. like one of the reviews before me stated, this place is located under the freeway so its ultra shady looking. oh, and the cops showed up later for whatever reason. i think someone had busted another guys window. thatll be one more point please. and for the final point. i think i started out with an innocent newcastle or two. or was it ten? i dunno cus i walked out of that bar pretty damn trashy. i loves this place. and now you all know why.

place that really depends on when you get there. That and who is bartending. Now that Jessica has returned. expect a good night Thu, Fri and Sat. They gals are always gorgeous and friendly. Might not be best bartenders. Play pool but be careful. real talented older guys there. Crowd is good on weekends. Frank is a great guy with good advice. Found the place because on of two near VTA. Cops are bad in town if you are drvining. I’ll admit it’s been some time since I’ve been there, but Frank doesn’t change things much. You may even see him sleeping there.

Good ass dive. Located under a freeway so I felt like I was going to be murdered at any moment, but other than that it was bomb. I agree with the other two homies about the big ol’ titties. Those bags of milk made me crave a white russian pretty bad. But instead I jsut got a Sierra nevada, and by that time it was closed. Lil’ Frank himself asked us to leave. That man is one hellofa gentleman.
