Perry Lim, MD

A good physician is when something happen, he knows what is the best to you. Dr. Lim is defiantly this kind of doctor. We have been vising Dr. Lim almost three years since my son was born. My son is a very strong boy, so just has his regular office visit with Dr. Lim, so we did not see Dr. Lim is the best physician, until my 5 month daughter got sick this time. It is very easy to get same day appointment is not the best part, the best part is whenever you need Dr. Lim he is always there for you. No matter I paged Dr. Lim on weekday or weekend, even midnight or early morning, he always return my call within 5 minutes, and give me very helpful suggestion regarding my daughter’s situation. Also, Dr. Lim’s staff are friendly too, they are very helpful and very patient with kids.

In reply to your response of my honest review. You said Perry needs to spend time away from work but to schedule a vacation and not have someone from his office cover or notify us during our planned due date is unprofessional and inconsiderate (We Delivered exactly on our estimated due date). Well of course we wanted the circumcision to be done at the hospital but Perry never showed up or didn’t have a backup doctor visit our newborn. My repeated efforts to ask our hospital given Pediatrician said they couldn’t perform the circumcision and needed our Pediatrician (Perry Lim). He was not able to be contacted because he was vacation with his family? Unacceptable!
I know most offices do not perform circumcisions. That is why I canceled with you guys when you said Perry would perform it at that office. I was not going to risk my sons genitals and life with a greedy and dishonest practice. Yes, most insurances do cover circumcisions, which is why my bullshit meter went off in my head when the receptionist said «No, your insurance doesn’t cover the circumcision so it will cost $ 275» It is not the problem of my insurance billing comprehension. It is the matter of your office being greedy and dishonest.
Stay away from this practice at all costs. They are liars and even worse try to place the blame on the patients.

I worked as a nurse practitioner student with Dr. Lim for approximately 2 weeks. Although I was only w/​Dr. Lim for a short amount of time, I was amazed at his high level of care to his patients. This was demonstrated through his friendly and professional nature, ability to comfort parents of any concerns or issues they were having, and his capacity for staying up-​to-​date with medical guidelines. Dr. Lim’s passion for education during his office visits is what differentiates him from some of the other physicians I have known or worked with. He spends time to understand & educate parents and is not quick to prescribe medications if it is deemed unnecessary. Dr. Lim can be easily reached and also makes an effort to call/​follow-​up with concerned parents.
Additionally, his staff is very welcoming and proficient. The waiting room and patient rooms are nicely decorated with toys, stuffed animals, and children’s books, making doctor visits a more positive experience for the patient and family.
I would highly recommend Dr. Lim!

I would not recommend this PD to any one who has a new born, for the following reason:
1. When my baby was 2 month old and need to get vaccine, Dr Perry Lim just told us, everyone takes this. When I asked what’s the side affect and what would be the symptom if baby allergic, he just said «oh well, there’s document you can read by yourself, just everyone takes this vaccine .» He was so impatient to us. Isn’t it the PD ‘s responsibility to introduce the vaccine to parents ?!!
2. When I was in the delivery room in hospital, he came in the room without knock the door. I was speechless…
3. My baby was about 1 month, and he told us don’t let baby sleep from 5PM to 10PM, so baby could sleep at night for a longer time. That’s totally bull shit. Baby needs that sleep at that time. Our baby was so tortured because we took his advise. And our baby will not sleep before 10PM, usually 11 PM, because she got used to late sleep. I hate this PD for this reason the most.
4. One of the nurse in this clinic is very unprofessional. She doesn’t know how to hold the baby and when baby cries she will just ignore… This lady’s shoes are extremely dirty btw. If a lady usually ware very dirty shoes, will she be clean enough to hold your baby? Take weight or Height for your baby?

Even though it was my son’s first appointment with Dr. Perry Lim, I thought he was a great doctor already from my son’s last pediatrician. Also his staff is amazing and they know what they are talking about as well with insurance. The medical assistant that had to give the shots to my son I think did a great job with him. :) He may have cried a lot, but that’s ok haha. I will be staying with Dr. Perry Lim for now on until my son is older. Thanks Dr. Perry &staff!

I took my son there today to see if he would be the best fit. I really loved him and his staff when I walked in it smelled and looked really clean, besides the mountain of paper work behind the receptionist. The girls in the front were great with my son and I, and the Dr. was straight forward and to the point! He wasn’t quick to right a Rx. He just seemed so authentic! I don’t know about other parents but I feel like I’m not looking for a clown with a balloon trying to entertain my son! I’m looking for a REAL pediatrician that gives me quality feed back and educates me on different approaches for my child.

I have two boys, ages 1.5 & 3. Dr. Lim was my younger son’s pediatrician since delivery. I wish I had lived in San Jose when my older son was born just so he could’ve been our pediatrician longer.
Dr. Lim is very knowledgable and always took time to explain things to us. He was always patient even if the kids were being extremely fussy and uncooperative. I never had to worry that he would just send us away with medications every time a child sneezed. I loved the fact he would always reassure us that we just need to be patient when they had illnesses that couldn’t be treated; and also was quick to prescribe us with necessary medications ONLY when it was needed. This is very rare with pediatricians — believe me, I’ve had horrible experiences with my first son!
His staff is so sweet, always greeting you with a smile. They are friendly and social which makes the experience for the kids much easier. His office is very clean and neat.
We just recently moved and I’m very upset that I have to find a new doctor. I’m sure that we will not find anyone like Dr. Lim.
I HIGHLY recommend everyone to take your child to him. Once you do, you will never regret it. Trust that they are in great care. We miss them all already!

Dr. Lim’s care was excellent for both of our children. The only reason we stopped going was we moved out of Milpitas. I would recommend him to anyone with children. His staff was courteous and easy to work with. They all showed extreme care in dealing with our children and were knowledgeable about everything we asked.
Dr. Lim returned calls during off-​hours «emergencies» on several occasions promptly. which was greatly appreciated.

It disappoints me when parents can’t understand that a virus is a real disease but it needs no special medicine, such as antibiotics. Dr Lim is not a quack he is a sociable doctor reliable and considerate he cares about his patients he actually went out of his way one saturday for some patients that have a very busy weekday schedule. And the staff is great! so friendly and welcoming always polite and responsible. I really like beign here as an extern i learned so much all the patients that i would see come in this facility always left happy they seemed as they were well taking care of by Dr. Lim and his staff. I want to thank them for giving me an apportunity to do my extern with them i left with a great experience and confidence. i definitely recommend Dr. Lim

Dr. Lim is a great doctor. He is very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The office is in a great location, lots of parking, and easy to get an appointment. Dr. Lim is easily reached during after hours and weekends. Dr. Lim does not simply prescribe antibiotics for everything like other doctors but takes the time to educate and talk to you. Highly recommended!!!

At first when I switched from Kaiser, I was nervous, because I was born and raised a Kaiser kid. I was afraid that my children would not be receiving the best care if I just chose some random doctor.
However, I have come to really like Dr. Lim. He has been the one seeing my youngest son since his 1 month check up, he is 4 now. He has been seeing my oldest son and gladly performs the many physicals that his sports activities require. He is very patient, professional, and polite.
Yes, the appointments can be quick. 5 – 10 minutes if it’s really nothing major. But, I have found that if you have questions he will stay and answer. I understand though, I myself see clients daily and sometimes our visits are short because really… if there’s nothing wrong… there’s nothing wrong. Triaging is a necessity. Why would you stay 30 – 60 minutes for the common cold? Yes, most of the time he will tell you to push fluids or give Robitussin… but that’s pretty much all you can do. Do you really want him to push unneeded antibiotics or treatments?
Most of my visits have been just that… the common cold. But I’ve always left with the reassurance I need that my child does not in fact have scarlet fever or meningitis (oh the life of a hypochondriac). And when my son did need antibiotics for a persistent URI, he gave proper guidance and answered any questions I had.
I remember when my youngest was about 1 – 2 months old and that whole swine flu epidemic was going on, he had a fever of 102.1 at midnight. I panicked. I was able to page Dr. Lim, he called me back within minutes and gave me some advice over the phone. He did not sound tired or annoyed. He told me what to look for, and reassured me not to panic, and advised me to come first thing in the morning for further evaluation. He told me to call back if I felt something else was going on.
That’s when I knew that this was better than any Kaiser advice line.

My son has been seeing Dr. Lim since birth, he is now 19 months! I am expecting again, so my child will be seeing Dr. Lim as well. Dr. Lim is attentive and very responsive! Appointments are easy to make and wait time is minimal. He is available to answer questions via email which is great for a busy mom like me! Dr. Lim takes him time to evaluate my son and asks a lot of questions to determine right diagnosis.

When I was pregnant almost 7 years ago, I looked all over the area, read the reviews, talked with friends and actually visited more than a handful of pediatricians. Dr. Lim has been the «chosen one» since my son’s birth in 2006.
— Dr. Lim cares about my son. We called him one weekend morning when my son had fever and he was in office within 15min to see us.
— Dr. Lim and staff are very responsive. I would sometimes call in to let him know that I’m concerned about something and he would always call back within 15−30min. to take the time to discuss with me, many times result in not having to make an appointment to go in to see him. I called once about a bump on my son’s chin. He called back within 15min. and ask about the symptoms and make suggestions. We followed the suggestions and watched the bump overnight when it disappeared. When he thinks it’s necessary, he would suggest that I take my son in right away. Otherwise, he would give us the assurance that we can observe and call back.
— I really like that Dr. Lim is very respectful of my opinions and wishes and would make professional suggestions and lay out the pros and cons of different solutions. He would explain to me about the different prescriptions and make suggestions.
— Dr. Lim is fun and my son loves chatting with him. For some kids, going to see a doctor may be a scary thing but for my son, going to Dr. Lim’s is a fun and learning experience.
We have since moved to the peninsula and visiting Dr. Lim has become less convenient due to traffic time. But I’m not changing doctor — we love Dr. Lim and my son loves him.

We just moved in the area and decided take our child in to see Dr. Lim for the first time. When we met him, he seemed very friendly and patient with our child. He answered all of our questions and was not rushed at all, even though we were very concerned and had a million questions. The environment of the office as well as the receptionists are both friendly and comforting to my child.
I would definitely return for future visits and recommend Dr. Lim to anyone.

Dr. Perry is the Dr. for all my three children. He is always very patient and professional. He’s the Dr. we can trust along the way (nearly 10 years). We felt so blessed to find him in the first place. Thank you, Dr. Lim.

My son has been seeing Dr. Lim since he was born in February 2008. I love Dr. Perry Lim’s staff. Him? Not so much. He doesn’t answer my questions very detailed or informative at all. He seems impatient when we’re there for sick visits and talks to my son as if talking to his own kids. As a doctor I would think he would be more professional and patient.
I hate to say this but I have no choice but to look for a new pediatrician with more experience.

Perry Lim was my kid’s doctor for the past two years. It has gotten worse and worse.
Every time I took my kid to him, and that’s when my kid’s sick as a dog, all he does is collect his co-​pay and tell you there is no need for anything except liquids. Look, if I want to give my kid liquid, I know how to do that and I don’t need to pay the co-​pay and have him tell me that. Stay away from him. He’s a quack.

Dr Lim has been the doctor of our 2 daughters, since the day the older daughter was born. He visited the baby within the first 24 hours after birth. The older daughter is now 4 year old, that’s how long we have known Dr Lim.
Dr Lim has been really kind to the kids, and always available. I remember I paged him the first time at 4am, because my older daughter had a seizure. He called back within 20 mins. He has been very much supportive and willing to discuss about vaccine and medicine for the kids when I have questions.

He’s always there for your child when needed.

Dr. Lim is has been our son’s Dr. since he was born and he’s great! We never have to wait when we get to the office for an appointment. Even after I gave birth the hospital, Dr. Lim was always there at the time he said he wouuld while other parents were still waiting around for their pediatricians to see thier baby.
The staff is also very friendly. They call to remind us a day before we have to come in.
Dr. Lim is kind and takes the time to answer your questions. He was very supportive of our desecion to delay some vaccines.
When our son was very sick one time, we paged him at 3am and he called back within a couple of minutes. He then called the next morning to check up on us.
We cannot say enough great things about him!
