Dr Yu is the best. His knowledge and his equipment, and his care for his patients are all top of the line.
Carol is the nicest dental hygienist. She is so very attentive to all details.
I have been there for over 10 years, and have had cleaning, crowns, implants done. My whole family goes there.

I have been Dr. Yu’s patient since 2013. It is still a blast to go to the dentist when it comes down to Dr. Yu and his team (Kathy, Brenda, Carol, Cyndi)! I have had braces, dental cleaning/​exams, and teeth whitening done, which makes my teeth look great.
All of them have a great sense of humor (particularly Cyndi, I adore her), are very friendly and took the time to know me. Great customer service all around, so I don’t mind paying out of pocket for the treatment I’ve received.

I have been going to Dr. Yu for 7 years. I was first referred to him by my orthodontist for a dental implant. I was overwhelming impressed with results of my implant as well as the overall office experience, passion and knowledge the whole team has. I continued to work with Dr. Yu for my second set of braces, a gum transplant, and regular check ups.
Their office hours are somewhat limited but it’s a small price to pay for overall great oral care. Everyone in the office has played a major role in building confidence in the smile I have today.

Pays attention to the small details. A true artisan. Low power digital x-​rays. The best materials. There when needed. Very friendly staff. A client for many many years.

Dr. Yu and his staff are amazing! They are all very friendly and welcoming. I have never felt more comfortable going to the dentist. I would recommend Dr. Yu to everyone. He is very caring and just a genuinely kind gentle person. So if you are looking for a dentist, this is the place to go. I promise you will be very happy.

My family and I been patients of Dr Yu for over 15 years. He and his staff are excellent! They are very caring and patient with my children too. Dr Yu and his staff go the extra mile to explain everything they have planned for our care. I highly recommend them to everyone.

Dr. Yu has been my primary dentist since I was in elementary school, which means my family and extended family have been with Dr. Yu for about 10+ years. Dr. Yu and his staff have seen me grow through acne, braces, bad identity choices, college decisions, significant life events, etc. It almost feels wrong to write a review at this point because they feel like family. But the reason why I’m writing this review, and why they so rightfully deserve this million-​star review is because I didn’t realize how absolutely amazing Dr. Yu and his team were until I had to go somewhere else.
I graduated this past year, landed my first job, and turned 23, all of which made me ineligible for my parent’s health insurance. On my last annual clean-​up with Dr. Yu, we discovered that I had a large cavity that required a root canal. Yikes. My new health insurance made it too expensive for me to continue going to Dr. Yu, so I went and found a dentist in San Francisco in my plan. The stark difference between my new dentist and Dr. Yu highlighted the absolute professionalism and experience of Dr. Yu’s team — Carol, Tiffany, Brenda, Carol, and all — from handling my appointment, insurance, to the attention to detail and perfectionism in the actual cleanings and dental procedures. Dr. Yu also takes the time to walk you through all your questions and is great at articulating all the options, and makes you feel comfortable with the options you choose. My new dentist makes me feel like I’m going to the mechanic.
Even after I was no longer his patient, he was generous enough to check in on my root canal — I was nervous that the other dentist did a shoddy job and that I had an infection — for free. That’s the definition of great service.
All my life, I’ve declared numerous times that I was never succumbing to the standards of our patriarchal culture, and, therefore, was never getting married (sorry Mom). But, Internet friends, I finally found a reason to get hitched: dual health insurance.

Always a pleasure and great experience at Dr Yu’s office. The Staff are awesome… always welcoming. Very positive atmosphere. You can feel that they care for your dental requirements and are they to help you in any way to keep you comfortable during the appointments.
My family has been going here for 6 years now… including my 5 and 3yr olds… they love the place. Since when did kids like going to a dentist… My kids are all excited when we tell them they have a dentist appointment.
If you want your dental work to be done right this is the place to be… They cover all the basics and advance treatments.

I want to start off by saying I’ve been a patient of Dr. Yu’s for quite some time now — at least 8 years. From the moment I was referred to him and first stepped foot into his office to this very day I have yet to be met with service that is anything short of exceptional. This is the very first Unilocal review I’ve ever written, so when I say exceptional I mean it. From the moment you walk in Kathy and Brenda are always right there to greet you with a smile and on a first name basis — very personal, very attentive. If you’re there for a cleaning you will get a chance to meet Carol. If you’re ever going to have someone put motorized tools and metal picks in your mouth, I would not recommend anyone else for the job. I have to mention Carol is an absolute sweetheart as well. Tiffany and Cyndi are two of the nicest, super-​friendly, very sweet dental assistants that work for Dr. Yu. These two girls can turn any not-​so-​fun dental experience into something much better. I believe Cyndi’s first day on the job was today as a matter of fact. She has some good jokes so you may just get to hear a few. I don’t need to mention this but I will anyway, they’re both very cute too, so it’s hard not to like them! Now for the man running the whole operation (definitely not without the help of his excellent staff), Dr. Yu. He has to be the best dentist I’ve been to in my life. I’ve moved around from time to time, switched dentists while doing so, and he’s the one I’ve stuck with. I drive a pretty good distance to visit him several times a year because he’s very much worth it. Not only does he know how to do his job very well, he’s also a very fun, likeable guy. Whatever your issue may be (as long as its associated with teeth and your mouth) he ALWAYS goes above and beyond to make sure each and every patient is completely happy with the service and experience they receive from him and his staff.

I admit that I don’t love having my teeth worked on; however, I love my dentist and his staff! Dr. Yu always takes as much time as needed and has the best equipment to do a careful and precise job. He is gentle. He clearly cares so much about his patients. He is very warm and kind while taking such terrific caref of my smile. I’m so impressed with the orthodontic work he just did on my crowded adult teeth.
His staff is exceptional, as well. They are very professional. But what makes this doctor and staff stand out for me, is that I know they care about me. Their humor and caring always leave me smiling inside and out.

I would highly recommend this dentist. His office staff is absolutely top notch! Much of his staff has been with him — well as long as I have been going to him (1995) — they are friendly-​outgoing and actually recognize you when you walk in the door.Dr. Yu is is one of the most up-​to-​date dentist’ you will find. He loves what he does. He takes pride in his work, he’s precise. I’ve had a couple of crowns and the bits are perfect. You will go to no other dentist after seeing this one!

I really like Dr. Yu’s office. Great dentist, clean office, and nice staffs. My 2 sisters and I have been coming here since last year, and we haven’t had a problem yet.

We love Dr. Yu and his staff, they are all very kind. Dr. Yu takes the time to personally discuss activities with you each visit. Also he’s the most high-​tech dentist I’ve ever been too.

Have been going there since the mid-​90s based on a coworker’s referral. Since then I referred many family members and friends. Dr. Yu is professional, efficient and kind, possess great ethics and intercultural honesty; his hygienist gentle and thorough, his office staff polite and gets the job done, deals with insurance efficiently, and his facility clean and up-​to-​date. Most importantly, I know I can trust his professional judgment. (There are just too many dentists out there who try to get one do unnecessary work.)

it’s really 4.5 stars. why? cost factor. but that’s only cause i’m poor :(but even though i am poor, dr. peter yu and his staff is so worth it! it’s really difficult to find a dental office that provides the care you might like for your teeth. this one does! really! that’s why even though i moved to LA for a year, i still drove 6 hours on I-​5 just to come back for my checkups.
