Stuart Event Rentals

I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile, but I just want to say what a pleasure it is working with Stuart Rentals. My account rep, Aaron Feldman has been outstanding. Whether it has been help with planning large events weeks down the line, or more commonly, last minutes changes or additions, he has always been prompt, detailed and with a smile on his face. I have never felt like I was inconveniencing him with my unannounced «I need this now.» requests.
The great customer service goes beyond my account rep. Many times I have been helped by Gwen and Gloria. They always stop whatever they are working on and help expedite my orders or returns with personable service. Francisco and his crew in the warehouse are very helpful as well.
I have had many positive interactions with Stuarts. One example (which is why I decided to write this review) was a day when I had multiple events at different locations. The crew came to set up a tent, tables, chairs and linens. I met them where the event was to take place. I gave the crew leader the map and had a brief conversation about the set up. I got called away and completely lost track of time. The crew leader called me to sign off on set up and I was a little panicked that I didn’t come and check on them during the set up. I run out there and it was finished perfectly. The whole transaction was a couple of email conversations with Aaron about what tent I needed, 5 minutes with the crew by giving them a map, showed them where the water was for the barrels and everything was done. They even came back the next day to get everything without needing my attention. What a time saver!
While I’m certainly not one of their big accounts, but if I’m standing on the loading dock and the president of the company stops to ask if I’m being helped or the vice president helping me with rentals before they open, they have always made me feel like I’m their most important client.

Trish was a lifesaver. She worked with our team to put a rush on our order when we needed it last minute after another vendor fell through. She was flexible and accommodating to every change we needed to make and responded quickly to all requests.

I asked a business colleague who does events, for the name of the most reliable rental company for tents. She referred me to Stuart Rentals.
I talked to Cindy Foster at the Castro Valley office less than two weeks before the event. She sent an installer to evaluate my needs and promptly gave me a quote after the onsite meeting. I changed the order several times before the install date and she promptly adjusted and re-​quoted the order each time without complaint.
On the appointed date, they set up an 1,800 sq ft tent in approximately 4 hrs. The tent specs and configuration were correct. The invoice was correct. The installer, Roger Cruz, was terrific. He explained everything thoroughly, was very friendly, and very professional. I will ask for him again if I rent from Stuart in the future. Well done.

Aaron was fantastic! I was working on a small but detailed corporate event from long distance. I really had to rely on Aaron’s input and guidance to determine what we needed and where. He was extremely professional and provided everything beyond the client’s expectations. With last minute add-​ons, to a rain contingency plan, they made everything easy. I would definitely recommend Stuart Rental, and especially Aaron.

Rented Samsonite white party chairs for an indoor event in our home. The service was great with the phone order and picking up the chairs. However, I noticed all the chair ends were dirty with mud and grass once I got home. I cleaned them before bringing them into house on the clean carpets.
When I tried to return the chairs on Monday morning, the office staff was helpful by saying all the returns would be handled at the loading dock. I drove to the loading dock looking for someone to unload the chairs and no one was there. I yelled inside for assistance. I unloaded the chairs myself and an employee walked by me 3 times.
I asked if I was a ghost because he never acknowledged me. I requested assistance and no one helped me. I left the chairs on the ramp and went back to the office to share my experience.
The office staff was sorry.
This incident occurred at 10:00 am on a Monday. No other groups were unloading rental equipment.
Summary: Great ordering service over the phone and picking up the rental chairs.
However, Poor quality once I got home and realized the chairs were not cleaned from an outside event. Maybe identify if chairs are to be used inside or outside so a customer can pick the appropriate chair. The return service at the loading dock was awful. Again, I understand if a big truck came in and all staff were busy, but I was the only vehicle there.

I rented few chairs and tables. Quality of chairs were really bad. One of my guest almost broke her back because of bad chair. I am uploading the image here. Its really sad that they don’t periodically check the quality. When i told them, the answer i got was, we do check we will refund for the broken chairs. They are not even taking this seriously.

This review is for Lisa Caballero and her help with putting together my quote for my upcoming wedding. Fist off, I was working with another rental company and aside from their higher rates, the rep was not responsive and very forgetful with our discussion on items I wanted, etc. Needless to say, I tried Stuart Rentals instead and started working with Lisa. She’s been responsive to my emails and phone calls, even if I had tons of on-​going adjustments. The process has been pretty seamless so far! I’m crossing my fingers that the day-​of services will be just as great! To be continued…

Chris Alton is amazing! He provided excellent customer service and is so friendly. He truly owns his business and gives his customers the best experience! He resolved my issue in 5 mins!

We rented here for our engagement party last month. Other family members have rented here in the past and recommended it to us. Gloria was so sweet and answered my emails promptly. Let me explain why I gave this place 2 stars… When we went to pick up all of the chairs we had ordered. THEY DID NOT HAVE THEM. They offered to upgrade but they were in other colors. We rented a certain style and color… How did they not know their inventory when we rented?! We had no choice but to go with another color chair the day of the party… Which did not match. Another thing was the linens for the tables. All of them were supposed to be floor length. Of course ONE of them was not. Dressing the tables the day of, and you come to find out one of them does not match the rest. I would hate to have someone rent here for an event and the same thing happen… Maybe you should considering renting with another company to ensure you get what you actually want/​rent.

Each year, my annual dinner rental gets better and better! I asked Chris/​Milpitas for some improvements to the usual order I was making, and her suggestions added lots of color and refinement to my tables. My guests complimented the improvements. Delivery and pickup were on time and 100% accurate.

We first rented from Stuart for our wedding back in 2001. over the years, we’ve rented from them for various event needs at church.
Besides the 50% non-​refundable fee if you cancel too close to the event, everything else has always gone fine and dandy. And really, the 50% fee was there in fine print in the contract, so we’re not complaining, but it just stung a little for a past event we had to cancel some rentals for.
Overall a great service!

Just to clarify my review in regards to the reply by the business. Yes, I had been in touch with your salesperson for a month leading up to payment for my quote. The actual timeline I posted in my initial review is absolutely correct, and two years later, I still have the emails to prove it.
I literally received a final quote on April 2^nd, 2013, I then sent in my contract, with deposit, that NEXT DAY April 3^rd, a Wednesday. I did not get any kind of confirmation, thought I’d give it time to process. Became concerned and followed up on April 5^th, Laura responded April 9^th! She apologized in an email (I still have) for your employees overbooking. It is the definition of f’n up, and the fact that you tip-​toed around that in your response below irritates me.

We love using local business, here in Castro Valley. Stuart Rentals has an excellent staff, with great knowledge of what you might need and all the products you will need to make your event special and spectacular.

This was the only rental company I knew of, and came here on the recommendation of some friends and family. The showroom in Mountain View is pretty nice, I am a visual person so it helped to have physical tables and chairs that I could feel, sit on, check for table height etc. They have a lot of little items for rent that make a party a success, but people may not have in their private homes. Beautiful drink dispensers, matching napkins etc. I racked up quite a bill getting everything for a wedding party in our yard. The customer service was good, and when I emailed to modify my order as some people dropped out, the email responses were quick and efficient. No complaints there.
The reason for my low rating is the following. After I rented the tables and chairs and various items that go with a wedding party, glasses, plates, silverware, napkins etc etc, I talked to my caterer who laughed out loud and told me that I am a sucker for agreeing to spend $ 1200 on a wedding party rental.
I didn’t know the going rate for renting all these items. Long story short, my caterer provided me with ALL the things that Stuart Rental was supposed to, for under $ 500, rather than $ 1200. The cancellation of the majority of my order went off without a hitch. I still needed some glasses that my caterer was unable to get, and I rented a dance floor to put down on our lawn. I was told that the delivery would be between 9:30 and 5 on Friday. Luckily since it was my wedding on Saturday I was home for the delivery. I was surprised at how wide this «delivery window» was. The delivery guys arrived at 8am. Better early than late I guess, but we weren’t ready for them 1.5 hours early. A phonecall the night before or before they arrived would have been nice.
For the pickup on Tuesday, I decided to call Stuart Rental to see if I could get a narrower delivery window so I wouldn’t have to miss a day of work. They told me between 11:30 and 2:00. I asked if it was possible to narrow that down and they said no, its a holiday weekend and there are a lot of orders that they must pick up.
I understand that business is business and it is hard to coordinate many pickups all over the Peninsula, but really, to expect people to miss two days of work waiting for the delivery guys, either side of their party is unreasonable.
The company I ended up going with for the tables and chairs delivered at 8.30am on the day of my party and picked up all the stuff at 6pm the same day. This worked far better for me and I didn’t need to wait for anyone during the week.

I rented a cabinet warmer and nacho cheese warmer for our event. The chip warmer’s light bulb was out so i had to purchase a new one. When we turned the machine on the bottom started to spark and even shocked me slightly. I called Stuart rental and they said they did not have another i could rent. They did not try to offer me another item nor did they care. when we returned it i was expecting a call from them for a refund. I had to call them and ask them what was happening with my refund. A man on the phone said he would have to call the location and examine it. Never received a call or an email regarding my refund or an apology for the faulty equipment.

If you are looking for a fabulous tent in the east bay, look no further, Stuart Rental is the place to go!
I’ve always dreamed of having my wedding outdoors in Wine Country under a big beautiful white tent with chandeliers. So when I got engaged I started my hunt! I was very surprised to find that there aren’t many rental companies that will do a full tent liner and pole drapes, luckily I found Stuart Rental through Unilocal.I emailed them, Laura got back to me right away and we set up an appointment for me to come in.
The showroom is beautiful and they have all sorts of tablescapes set up and had pulled out a selection of items that they thought might fit my vision and even took me back in the warehouse to look at the different chandeliers.
We decided on a 40X60 tent with liner and drapes for the poles, one chandelier, and ambient lighting. Everything turned out BEAUTIFUL! It definitely wasn’t cheap but it was sooo worth it. A month earlier my mom had rented a 20X20 tent for my bridal shower from a rental place in Livermore and it was AWFUL. The service was terrible and the tent was dirty and dingey. We truly wish she had used Stuart Rental instead and will only use them in the future! And my only regret for my wedding day order with Stuart Rental is that I wish I had gone even more extravagant with a bigger tent and more chandeliers… maybe for an anniversary party one day :-)

My agency had a big ground breaking ceremony planned this week and we had to rent some canopies to house 200+ attendees. After going through some pricing process, we decided on Stuart Rental Company.
We worked with Trish to get all the proper paper work processed. The crew led by Roger, arrived on time at 6:30 a.m. to start setting up 3 canopies and a 8×16 stage. They were efficient, professional, and very accommodating. We planned to have them complete the canopies by 10:30 a.m. in order for us to finish the rest of the setup for a 1 pm event. They were on time like clock work.
I was very pleased with their performance. The only hiccup was getting the installation information. I needed to get the installers’s information ahead of time due to tight security. I was told that information will be provided 24 hour in advance of the installation date. When I didn’t hear from Trish by 2:00 p.m. the day before the event, I was really nervous. Luckily, someone from the office called me back and e-​mail me the information so there was not a delay the next day.
Overall, I am very satisfy with Stuart Rental Company. I’d recommend them to others for future business. The commuication part does need improvement because customers need the assurance that their event will go off without a hitch. Hopefully, they will take this feedback to heart.

I have gone through Stuart Rentals for the last three years to provide tents, tables and chairs for our commencement ceremony in San Jose. They have consistently come through and provided exceptional service. This year was no different. We had an extremely tight timeline to set up for our event and Victor and his team were amazing. They were gracious, patient and accommodating while dealing with our changes and short timeline.
I highly recommend Stuart Rental Company for any event. They are professional, friendly, efficient and organized. Thank you Trish, Victor and their team are phenomenal!

Andrew and his team are such lifesavers! It was three weeks before my wedding when my wedding coordinator finally gave me the quote for my chivari chairs. About $ 3,200+! I was not happy. I was not going to spend that much money on something that people were going to sit on.
Within an hour of getting the quote, I rejected it and I got in touch with my friend who worked at the Hyatt who had worked with Stuart Rentals before. I got a quote for all the chair for only 2000. That is including setup, delivery, and pickup. Fabulous! That’s a huge savings.
My wedding coordinator warned me that the quality of their chairs was not always great, but they were completely fine. I mean come on. How much can chair differ from vendor to vendor? I don’t care a few chairs were not in perfect condition. No one is going to take a picture of one chair. I was very happy with all they could do for me in such a short time. They saved me from having ugly chairs and a nervous breakdown.
