The Paradise Spa

Seriously, this is an amazing establishment for a quick massage! I’ve been to so many different Asian massage spots, mostly for foot massage, but I was beyond impressed at this location. Unlike the majority of these sort of massage places, the interior really feels like you’re in an upscale spa. The relaxing music, dim lighting, gentle water fountains, and CLEAN bathrooms really makes for a peaceful experience. I appreciated the designated receptionist, and I was pleasantly surprised that upon entering I didn’t smell any incense or cigarettes, that’s a big plus in my book. Their prices are comparable to other massage spots like this. I’m a dancer, so I’m a sucker for foot massages ($ 20/​hour). My friend and I decided to come here after a day of shopping and we stopped by around 3pm and the wait was only about 5 – 10 minutes for both of us. Leo was my masseuse, and he did an absolutely wonderful job. The pressure was just right throughout the entire massage and he got out the tight knots in my upper back. Side note, they only accept cash tips so make sure you have cash on you for that! I tipped $ 15 because it was just that good. If you’ve never been to a place like this and are considering it, the «foot massage» is about a 30 minute foot massage, and the other 30 minutes spent on your face, head, arms, back, legs while you are still clothed, but I recommend wearing shorts. I’ve recommended this place to my friends and family since my first visit and I can’t wait to come back!

— massage therapist used one hand. I’m not an expert by any means but it could have been better. I communicated more pressure but I don’t think he understood. He kept calling me lady.
I’ve been here before but it’s hit or miss on your massage therapist. I had a guy named Mai, which I’ll make sure I won’t ask for again. Otherwise I think this place is great, it’s just today’s experience was not good.

I’ve been going here on-​n-​off for close to 1.5 yrs now and is great value for money. $ 20 /​hour for foot massage plus tip.
This is place clean unlike most its peer places. I am a massage addict and like to go there whenever I am in their area.

My feet have been dying recently and I just can’t find the time to go to my regular spot (Mayflower Day Spa in Santa Clara). I actually went to a different place, closer to home, but they wanted me to wait an hour. Thankfully Paradise was open and could take me right away!
They do things a little backwards here, compared to other foot spas I’ve been to. They worked on my head and shoulders and then switched to my feet/​legs, and then finished off my back. It was odd because I figured he should do my back/​head/​shoulders all together, but whatevs. He did an awesome job working out the kinks in my shoulders – after I told him to increase the pressure. Before that I felt like he was trying to tickle me.
All in all, an awesome massage. Only thing I would say to improve: ask your client how much pressure they’d like prior to the start of the massage. We could’ve had an extra 5 minutes of deep pressure!

Not coming back here anymore. Rude and crooked owner. Didn’t honor the pre-​paid certificates we bought from his a year ago stating that their cards were stolen and since had new logos on their certificates.
Wth? First, how’s this our fault? Second, check the serial numbers-​which he wrote down when we purchased $ 200 worth from him. He was not only rejecting the cards but trying to up sell. What a joke! Third but not least, he was fighting and raising his voice at two older ladies. What kind of man does that???
This was especially embarrassing as I’ve given 2 certificates to my mom and her friend for a Mother’s Day foot massage.

We went for a couple massage here on a rainy saturday and it was so perfect and relaxing, lily and rose were our masseuse and they did it so good and offered us a hot tea at the end. What else to relax :) i highly recommend this place :)

I been going to this place over a year now and I have to say not bad at all. You really pay what you get. I decided to leave a review for maternity massage. I been coming here more frequently since I’m prego, putting the extra weight on me causes my feet to hurt. I come here every other week to get a foot massage (leg and feet only). The staff are friendly and they are very accommodating towards me. They put me on a chair that has recliner and provide extra pillow/​towels for my back. Overall, great service!

This place is clean and nice. First you get escorted to a private room where you are asked to undress (down to underwear only) and lie on the massage table. The masseuse starts with some stretching before delving in. The overall massage was ok. His technique was ok. The pressure was good. He used his forearm a lot as opposed to kneading. After the full body massage, you get dressed and get whisked to one of the outside tables for a foot massage.
Overall it was ok-​good… nothing spectacular.
So I took advantage of this place because of a Groupon that I purchased. Groupon has it advertised as a $ 75 massage (70min body/​30min foot) for $ 45… but with an extra discount, I paid $ 33.75. Still a good deal. But the spa advertised the same package for $ 60…Pricing discrepancy? For the tip I gave $ 15… kinda feel like a got a frown face from him when he looked at what I gave him.
I had an early weekend appointment, so I had no issue with extra chatter. It was pleasant, clean and relaxing.

Just walked out of the place and I had to write a review right away, my masseuse; which I forgot to get his name was amazing.

it was definitely HEAVENLY. The guy whom massage me, make sure to ask if I want my pressure to be Medium or Hard. I’m a very tiny /​skinny person who’s only 5 feet tall, I don’t do pain very well but (medium) the pressure was just right, he got every spots that been irritating and hurting me all month. I work standing up 15 hours a day, 5 days a week, so the jizz of it, I’m pretty sure my back is all messed up. When I walked out of the room, I felt like a brand new person.
After the full body session, it was the foot massage and I definitely fell asleep. The whole experience in general was very very satisfied. Thank you for the awesome deals& experience. Definitely will recommend some people here and will come back!

Let me start that the exterior of this place made me a bit skeptical. However, as soon as I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! My fiancé and live close and it is a gem! We have always had a private room (separately or together) it has always been clean, quiet, professional, and relaxing.

I find this place better than footlax. They have a way better ambiance and therefore it’s more soothing to me. They do not do hot stone for the $ 20 deal but they actually spend time on the feet which is what reflexology is about.

I made a last minute appointment at Paradise while traveling for business, feeling some airplane induced back tension, and wanting to avoid rush hour traffic. I had relatively low expectations simply because of the low prices; however, I was pleasantly surprised! My massage therapist was George, and he was nothing but professional, attentive, and skilled with massage therapy.
For full body massages, you are led to a private room that have an open ceiling (so don’t expect the environment to be absolutely silent — masseuses do walk through the hallway and the open foot massage area). That said, I felt a conscious effort was made to keep conversations quiet and abbreviated (versus some establishments where you feel there could be a night club outside the room). The room and linens were clean, and I never felt rushed.
For foot massages, Paradise has a typical open area with all the chairs laid out (so don’t expect to be in a private room). That said, the chairs are spaced nicely, so you don’t feel like you’re on top of the person next to you like some establishments.
I would HIGHLY recommend Paradise Spa if you are looking for a clean, professional environment with skilled massage therapists without the high price of a traditional «spa».

It was my first time here and I was using a Groupon that Was given to me. I called the place to see if I could be seen same day and they booked me on the next available opening. That was a plus because my back was killing me.
Emily was my masseuse and she was great! She was gentle but extremely firm, finding all my knots in my back that has been bothersome for a few weeks already. I will go back to her, for sure.
She also did my foot massage, which came with my groupon. This was just a little extra for me, since my main concern was all the knots in my back.
I am glad I went. Although I walked out of there feeling a bit sore from where Emily focused on my back, I feel a lot lighter on my shoulders.
If you want gentle massage, this isn’t the place for you.

We came here twice in a row in the same weekend! We had a stressful weekend so we came here to unwind. We have gone to so many Chinese foot massage places, and we really haven’t found one that we liked until we came here!
Here’s why:
1) It’s clean!
2) It is quiet! You don’t have people talking hecka loud in Chinese, and so you know they’re not talking about you. One time, we went to a Chinese foot massage spot with one of our friends who they didn’t know was Chinese. Afterwards, my friend told my husband that they were talking about now his «meat was soft and tender» and complaining about how much work they had to do because our meat was not soft and tender!
3) They have waterfalls, Buddha statues, and nice décor — they just need to get rid of all the clutter like the extra tissue paper and paper towels they have stuffed in the front. They need a storage room! I highly recommend moving that away from the front because it’s the first thing you see when you are waiting.
4) It’s not crowded and it was easy to make an appointment last minute
5) It’s $ 20 for an hour! It’s not the best but it definitely hits the spot when you got some major knots and kinks that you’ve gotta let out.
My first masseuse I didn’t enjoy so much because I felt like he was feeling up on my booty! He told me I had sciatica but it’s probably because I was clenching my booty from being so uncomfortable. May be that should be the universal sign for don’t touch my booty then! Luckily, I didn’t get him the second time. Otherwise I would have to veto or wait for someone else to be done. My second masseuse was much better, but he was a little rough around my spine area. Then again, I have really bad knots in my back, shoulders and neck. I’m always in pain.
I definitely like this place much better than any other spot we’ve been to in the bay. I’ll have to try out the other masseuses to see who I like best. My husband, on the other hand, loved it! He fell asleep and was snoring both times!
Before we came here, we read the Unilocal reviews about the tipping situation. Luckily, we didn’t get harassed about leaving a tip. May be that’s because we always paid for everything in cash, and gave $ 10 minimum tip. This is a pretty reasonable price for an hour of relaxation. You can’t expect this place to be Burke Williams for $ 30. Don’t bother comparing the two places because that’s not comparing apples to apples. It’s fair to compare it to other foot massage places, and compared to those spots, this would be the Burke Williams of foot massage spots.

My bf and I were winding down our Sunday Funday and decided we wanted to get a foot massage (we had biked many many miles earlier in the day). We found this place on Unilocal and called to see if there was any availability. The gentleman who answered the phone said it would be $ 20 per hour so we said LETS GO!
I was under the impression they were only going to do only our feet but it turns out it was a full body experience! I didn’t get my guy’s name but he started with my head and face, then worked my arms, then spent a good 15 min each on my legs and feet. After the long bike ride we had this morning, it definitely felt really good for him to work on my muscles. When he was done with my feet, he told me to turn around and started to do some great work on my back. Now this wasn’t some aromatherapy/​zen shiatsu… this was elbows and everything! Got my stubborn knot out of my left shoulder and even though it hurt like a MF, it felt sooooo good.
Luckily I brought cash, and I know that these hard working people probably get paid minimum wage and solely rely on our tips. So definitely bring sufficient cash should you visit this establishment. Overall, I had a great experience and I know my bf did too (he snored practically thought the whole thing — which is a good sign)! We will definitely be coming back!

My lady kicked my butt but in a good way! I got a really great deal from Groupon… Paid $ 89 for two 70 mins massages and two half hour foot massages. It is definitely a deep deep tissue sorta massage thing so just keep in mind if you’re trying to get a relax massage… this particular deal wouldn’t great for you. Nonetheless, a massage does the body! I am feeling fantastic at the moment. Highly recommended!!!

You can’t beat $ 20 for an hour foot massage! I had a really pleasant experience at The Paradise Spa. The ambience is so relaxing. Most Asian massage places don’t have much décor and don’t have a very nice atmosphere but this place is beautiful! They have water fountains and really relaxing music playing. It is dimly lit and very quiet.
Some tips:
–bring cash for tip! You should tip anywhere between $ 15-​$ 20. More if you really enjoyed it!
–wear loose clothing if you’re going to get a foot massage. They need to be able to roll up your pants
–wear sandals since they will be putting lotion/​oil on your feet and it would be really uncomfortable to put socks over them!
–don’t wear make up!
What to expect: once you are led to your bed, they will ask you to put your feet in the water and lie down. A foot massage doesn’t mean just the feet! My masseuse started on my face, then my neck, my arms, emphasis on my feet, thighs, and then asked me to turn over to do my back.
My masseuse was so sweet. She asked me several times to make sure I was okay. She was very professional and did not chat with her coworkers like other places. The receptionist was also really nice as well. It was a male and he was very professional. He kindly reminded us to bring cash to tip. Unlike others who complained about them being persistent on tip, I don’t mind that they ask. It’s customary to give a $ 15-​$ 20 tip and if you didn’t know that, now you do. It doesn’t hurt anyone to be reminded. The masseuses are making most of their money from the tip so be kind and if you felt like they did a satisfactory job, make sure they get a decent amount. If you’re tipping $ 5 or not even tipping at all, don’t even bother getting a massage. That’s just so rude lol.
