What a joke 6 weeks to get proscription glass — «the company needs time to test the glasses to make sure they work.» Seriously? I could have told them in 30sec *puts on glasses* they work. You’re welcome…

I’ve been going here for three years and it’s been great. The doctors and most of the staff have been nice. I’ve always ordered contacts with them and it usually arrives in a timely manner.
This time I ordered glasses and paid in full and didn’t even hesitate because they’ve always been timely. I was told to wait 10 business days but it’s been three weeks going on a month and no glasses. It’s disappointing. I think they may have forgotten about me because no one called to follow up and tell me that it was going to take longer. I called in a week ago to get an update and was told by end of week but still no glasses or a follow up call. I called again today to be told that maybe it will be shipped by the end of this week or early next week.
This is unacceptable. I would rather have them tell me that they forgot to process my glasses and that it would take two more weeks than to hear empty promises.

Today my son and i went in for an eye exam. Our experience was perfect. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. My son is 2 ½ years old, so this was his first check up. He is so active & sat through the entire exam because the dr. Was «playing games» with him. He was so happy «playing games» aka naming letters and numbers. I will definitely be back.

I took my mom to this office for an initial visit. The doctor said that she will need surgery for her glaucoma and wrote her a referral to see a specialist. My mom has Anthem Blue Cross MediCal and that insurance requires authorization. I scheduled my mom with the specialist and we went. We got there and they told me that there is no authorization on file. I called Zoom Vision Care and spoke with the office manager and asked him if he could put in a request with the insurance for authorization so my mom can see the specialist. He told me no that his office doesn’t do that. He couldn’t even make any suggestions to help me get the authorization.
The staff and Dr. Huang were very friendly and nice, but the fact that the office manager couldn’t help me or make any suggestions was a total fail. Good thing I work in a medical office and figured it out myself to get the authorization.

Always feel so satisfied when I leave here. They ate nice, smart, and friendly. From safety glasses, prescription glasses, sun glasses, and contacts. They can help with your needs.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy my experience here. I needed new contacts and glasses and this place was nearby so I figured I’d just make an appointment. I don’t remember the optometrist’s name that I saw but she was very nice and bubbly. There was a lot of miscommunication with my contacts prescription and I was very unhappy about that. In the end, I will say that I do not like the contacts prescription that I was given. I don’t think it’s right. I quickly ordered more contacts online using my old prescription before it expired which sucks because I shouldn’t have to do that.
But the worst experience was with my glasses. I had used my old frames and got new lenses put in with Zoom. When I went to go pick them up, they were adjusting them in the back and actually ended up breaking my frames. I was upset about this, however, they are just frames and I do understand that mistakes happen so as long as they fix the mistake by doing the right thing and giving me a new pair of frames for free, then it’s all good.
This is where I had the worst trouble with them. They did not want to give me new frames!!! They wanted to just glue them for me! That is completely messed up and it’s the worst customer service. I had to keep pushing for new frames because I’m not going to walk around wearing broken glasses frames. They were very hesitant to do anything but after a few days, they called the manager or owner or someone to describe what happened and got the green light for me to pick out a new pair of frames. I was only allowed to choose from the clearance section. How generous. Not that I was going to go for an expensive designer frame but I should’ve been able to choose something comparable to my original frames.
Ok fine, there was a large selection of clearance frames so eventually I picked one and they redid the glasses for me. Once they got them in, I tried them on and they were very crooked. They adjusted them a tiny bit and then said they couldn’t do any more because that’s the way the plastic frames are. That’s the worst answer I ever heard. I took them home and tried using them but they kept sliding off my face, one side was too close to my one eye and my eyelashes kept hitting the lens, and since they were a little crooked, I would get headaches when wearing them.
I was very upset about the bad decision I had made to come here and waste my money. I remembered one place that has outstanding customer service — Costco. I took my glasses to Costco and asked if they would adjust my frames even if I didn’t buy them from there. Guess what? They had no hesitations at all and adjusted them for me on the spot. Now they fit perfectly — which shows you the poor customer service and/​or skill of the people at Zoom Vision.
I would not recommend going to Zoom Vision for your eye care needs. Next time, I will stick with Costco even though they don’t take insurance. The only good thing about Zoom was that I do like my new glasses prescription. My issue occurred earlier in January so I don’t know if the staff is still the same or not.

Bad customer service! If I could, I would give zero star. I went there to buy a new pair of glasses and also to get new lens on an old frame. They had promised me I could get my glasses in a week, but it wasn’t ready when I was there a week later and was told to go there in another week. Guess what? It wasn’t ready on my second visit and told me the lens that I wanted was back ordered, so have to wait another week. The third time I was there, they told me to wait 20 mins more, so I had to walk around the plaza to wait for it ready. When I finally picked up my glasses, I was told that my lens and frames have one year warranty, couple weeks later, when I used the glasses, I realized the lens weren’t fit well with the frame, so I went there again, but this time I was told that there’s no warranty on my lens, I told them that that’s not what I was told. They then told my glasses to the back room for a minute and then came out and told me they fixed them! Of course, they did not fix it. They were rude and very unhelpful. There are many good shops to go for and please do not go to this place! They are not reliable!

I usually don’t like seeing doctors, but I actually enjoy going here. I had Dr. Jeanny Nguy. I don’t know if she’s new, but she looks really young. She was very professional and pleasant to work with. Bubbly and nice! Answered all my random questions about the eyes. :)
After the examination, I picked my frames. There are so many to choose from, but sooo expensive. (That’s why it’s 4 stars instead of 5.) The optician went over my frame price and add-​ons (more $$$). I get 20% off from the price of the frames that the insurance didn’t pay. Yay? It still cost a lot.
Overall, I like this place. Customer service was attentive and pleasant, never had a problem with them. The bill in the end can get pretty pricey. I guess you get what you pay for. Can’t wait for my check-​up next year! :)

Bumping back to 4 stars as I went back and Will helped me tighten my frames. Quick and simple. If you have repairs/​fixes that need to be done, go to Will, not the optician. That is all

I’ve been working near Zoom for the past 8 years and wish I found then sooner. My annual exam and contact lens fitting have always been quick, painless, and scheduled at times convenient for me. Dr. Huang gave me recommendations in how to relax my eyes and maintain good eye health as well as different ideas to take care of my dry and allergy eyes. Will makes understanding my insurance painless, and I’ve always been happy with my contacts and glasses in selection, price, and ready time. This week I met Dr. Nguy for the first time, and surprise, perfect service again. The gals at the front desk always know how to find the doctor for any questions or concerns, find early or late or lunch appointments, and make me feel welcome. Thanks, Zoom!

I received wonderful customer service from Kenia at the front desk. She was very helpful in helping me find my new glasses!

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. I’ve never received such poor quality and unprofessional behavior.
My complaint is for Jessica in the front whom I scheduled an appointment with, I stressed my need to see a specific doctor yet when I drove 45 mins to see this doctor and after a 1 hour wait (ridiculous) I realized I got a different doctor. (Fremont Zoom)
Then I brushed it off, and ordered some contacts. She sold me very expensive contact lenses over $ 800 promising a rebate of $ 150. When I got a call that my contact lenses were ready, no one warned me of the expiration date of this rebate. So when I picked my lenses up (in Milpitas) the rebate was already expired.
Then I call them to clarify and I get horrific customer service from their manager Will. He had poor communication. And he was very rude during the phone conversation with a nasty attitude. I try emailing and they respond with the same unprofessional, unpleasant and rude customer service. Never did he apologize and I was treated with zero respect. PLUS I didn’t get my rebate back.
DON’T EVER COME HERE it is a waste of time and energy. HORRIFIC and disgusting.

I got my oakley glasses and they are great.
The doc is cool and educated, and the secretaries are also.
I also got contacts from here a year ago, as well.

Love this place. Staff is super friendly and I was able to purchase a new pair of glasses after an eye exam. Also ordered some contacts and their prices are reasonable and competitive with other optometry places. The eye wear selection is good with name brand manufacturers. I highly recommend Zoom Vision for anyone looking for an optometrist!

GET STEVE (the guy who talks to you about what your insurance covers or not) OUT OF THAT OFFICE!!! He is rude and so unwelcoming!

I recently got my eyes checked and everyone there is very helpful and patient. I bought 2 pairs of glasses and they were extremely generous with pricing (maybe because it was their promotion). The doctor was so patient with me and answering all my questions. Also I received my glasses in 5 days for both!

This was our first time here so we didn’t know what to expect. Our first impression was that the store was clean and was filled with many selections of sunglasses and prescription glasses. The staffs were friendly and knowledgeable of insurance. With minimal information, they were able gather our coverages and carefully explained the benefits.
They gave us plenty of time to choose our glasses without bothering or staring us down. Once we knew what we wanted, the paperwork process didn’t take long. We did the pre-​check then headed to see the optometrist. Since I came with my husband, they let us take our exams together. Our optometrist was very kind. She took time to examine us even though the store was busy. She was concerned with our health and promptly answered all the questions we had.
Overall, this was one of the better experiences I’ve had at any optometry. Most of the care I’ve received in the past was not personal, so I was quite pleased with the experience I’ve received here. They also trust their customers because they didn’t seem to mind that I walked out with one of their expensive sunglasses to test it out in the sun.

I just got my eyes checked out at ZOOM and I must say I was quite impressed. I received very friendly and professional treatment from Karen. She was also very knowledgeable on how to operate the machines (i.e. the air poof machine). My eye doctor was also friendly and knowledgeable. The eye appointment was speedy and efficient. I will be coming back.

The lady who works in the front office is grumpy. The doctor is okay and friendly, but I would not go there again.

I’ve only had good experiences with Zoom Vision Care. They send you annual reminders to use your insurance coverage and come in for a checkup. The doctors answer all your questions patiently and thoroughly, unlike the ones at Kaiser Permanente, who treat you like cattle.
Last time I came in, I bought a fresh pair of Gucci frames. I didn’t like the fit so I took it in the next day and they took care of it in less than ten minutes. I also had a pair of sunglasses brought in and although I didn’t purchase them at Zoom Vision Care, and they replaced the nose pieces for free.
The excellent service, combined with the caliber of doctors, made me give this place five stars, even if they don’t carry anything by Prada.
