Downtown Milton, Delaware is doing a good job of revitalizing the downtown area, and Bacchus is a new addition. It is not a big place, and it was pretty busy on a Saturday night. Think older, middle aged wine drinkers– all enjoying wine, food, and conversation. There is a loft upstairs, so although it is a small place, I believe the high ceilings absorb some of the sound, so no issues with members of our party hearing one another. The wine list extensive and varied. I had the fall sangria which was tasty. We also shared a fruit/​cheese plate. Here is where I am going to ding the place a bit– In my opinion, the platter could be a bit more extensive. There were four in our party– and our fruit cheese plate consisted of: 3, yes 3 tiny strawberries, and a minuscule amount of blueberries, (both fruits out of season) 3 pieces of salami, and one type of brie. Yes, there were some other things, but overall, I have seen better. So, in closing, I will visit again, and hope to see the place flourish as something to add to my weekend nights. (or weekday)
