If they can fix the Brewcity Bruiser athletes, then they can fix me. Some very well qualified physical therapists here, mine has a doctorate. They’re also personable, friendly, and seem to be sincerely interested in my well-being. Unlike the priorities on the orthopedic surgeon side of treatment, they understand that I can’t work on drugs that make me stupid(even if the high is not exactly unpleasant). I’m a true partner in my therapy, my priorities are their priorities. They don’t act like payment is the most important thing to them like the three hospital corporations in town, I feel like they really want me to feel better, or maybe more accurately, function better. It helps that they have a collective good sense of humor, and as a team they really work well. When my therapist has to answer the phone, another steps in with some sort of signal and then I’m returned to my therapist, it’s like a treatment ballet of sorts. They handle my personal idiosyncrasies and my admittedly surly curmudgeon nature with grace and sensitivity. Before I came here, my niece came here without much success, but it was obvious she wasn’t doing the prescribed exercises and stretches, so it’s not ATI’s fault. Now ATI has some sort of relationship with the Cubs, I do wonder how much of last year’s big disappointment was ATI’s fault, but because of patient confidentiality ethics I can’t find out. Don’t misunderstand me, they don’t have a pain-free approach, some of what I have to do is uncomfortable, but it’s working. I seriously recommend this specific physical therapy clinic for injured athletes and older fat former athletes, musicians, really anybody who depends on their body for work.

Comprehensive, community-focused physical therapy right in the Third Ward… yeah! ATI’s big business, no doubt. They sponsor lots of well-known/big-time sports teams around town. In fact, they’re in seven states, so they’re not just Wisco-based, either. With all sorts of therapeutic offerings, sports medicine, injury screenings, work conditioning and other specialty services, ATI’s for more than just jocks with knee problems. Each time I’ve been at their physical location, I’ve been impressed by the super-friendly and helpful staff. I love that you go in and see kids, folks from all different walks of life, etc., as well. This is wellness and therapy and a spot to help you work through pain and injuries; they offer physical therapy and other services so folks can live their lives well. Four stars, ATI!
