The store has been open for 9 years. It was in it’s original location on Franklin Street (around the corner from where we are now located) for 7 of those years. We are now located on Brady Street and are a proud member of the Brady Street Business Association.

I met Heidi Calaway the owner through a mutual, friend I lived in Atlanta, Ga at the time I shopped her store on line and it was an awesome experience my order arrived immediately ! I came to Milwaukee and met her personally. Heidi is passionate about what she does and wants to help people look their best ! Her expertise lies in picking out the right outfit for you that looks best, coordinating accessories as well a true fashionista ! I had an awesome experience shopping with her and I will continue to shop her store and on line stores ! Coming from Atlanta I loved the attention I got from the owner and her great knowledge of fashion ! What to wear or what not to wear !

I had gone into Heidi’s boutique during Brady St. Days with a friend last year. There were a few things that caught my eye, but didn’t seem worth the price. I went back alone the next week to look a bit closer, and felt really pressured. She followed me around and kept telling me to try everything on. I ended up buying a piece I saw the week prior, but got home and noticed it was the wrong size. I wish she told me prior that it was credit only for returns, since this was a $ 90 piece. I settled for the credit and spent it during her moving sale. I wouldn’t ever buy anything for full price there, and refuse to go back just because of how unpleasant the experience with the owner was.

When I stepped into the store the OWNER was immediately pushy. I felt like I was being watched the entire time I was shopping. If I held something up to look at she came right over demanding that I should try it on. Also while I was there she was belittling her employee talking down to her and breathing over her neck. I felt so bad for her. While trying to leave the store she stopped me and almost demanded that I give her my email address for the mailings. The owner is too over bearing and needs to learn how to treat her workers and customers better. I will never step foot in that store again.

I was there a few weeks ago and bought a dress. The saleswoman was super friendly and nice but she thought the credit card machine wasn’t working so she asked for my number to call in case my payment didn’t go through. Again, she was a new employee and she was super nice so I had no problem with this at all.
Fast forward a couple weeks, I get a voicemail from Heidi, the owner, saying that the saleswoman called me 4 times the day I bought the dress and how wrong it was for me to have stolen this dress and that «karma is a bitch» and she said I could call and leave my card number on her answering machine and she’ll delete it but that I should «do the right thing.» I called and explained that I had absolutely never gotten a call and she said «Okay. Whatever. Do you have a card or no?» So of course I gave her the information and she said thanks and hung up on me.
5 minutes later the saleswoman who worked with me called and apologized profusely for the whole thing… turns out she was calling me on a phone that doesn’t dial long distance. I NEVER got a phone call, but what I DID get was one of the rudest voicemails and interactions ever. The saleswoman is sending me a gift card for the place… she was awesome! I’m so offended over how this OWNER treats a customer for no reason at all. Good thing she has an employee with some manners, however.
It’s a shame, but I absolutely won’t be back into that store. I don’t want to support Heidi in her business.

Boutique Vieux et Nouveau is a one-woman fashion extravaganza gem from owner Heidi Calaway. She is passionate about helping you find the right dress or outfit for your body. There is a great mixture of high-quality vintage and new fashions. Items are a bit pricey if you’re trying to score some nice vintage finds. But… she has great sales, and the difference here is the boutique experience. Relax, have a glass of wine, and let Heidi bring outfits to you as you play grown-up dress up. You can’t be shy here as there are no mirrors in the dressing room but you need to go in with an open mind and try it all on. Great shoes by the way. Wonderful Portuguese leather boots. Very cool.
