Great place to stop for a reasonably priced drink and good conversation. Working in the area for a couple months and have enjoyed this place quite a few times. Calm, older crowd that likes to have fun. Dude bartender at night during the week is awesome. Very attentive and friendly. Chick bartenders on weekends will make you wait a while for a drink and don’t really speak, but still plenty of local customers to talk to.

Let me start by saying that I end up there once or twice a week. I don’t really enjoy it there, bit tend to have a good time. If you’re a fan of tap IPAs then you’ll like it, they tend to have a good selection on tap. Not much for Domestics though. The bartenders are all super friendly. Most the regulars are cool, some aren’t. Some will play the same 6 songs till you threaten to kill them. Some of the people can get a little too friendly for comfort. The crowds usually pretty mellow in there. The owner is super nice, like really nice. He’s usually cooking at lalli’s pizza next door. They don’t serve food but you can order from Lalli’s when you’re at the bar and they will bring it to you. The crowd tends to be a bit older, but lately the younger rowdier crowd has been wandering in. The biggest complaint about the place is the size. If 30 people are in there you can’t move. Some of the drinks can be pricey but it’s not too bad. Watch the shots though. The bartenders love their dice, and love doing shots. You order just one, and before you know it, you’re hammered: p. All in all its a cool little bar.

If you prefer dive bars to the rowdy college bars, you’ll love the Club Tap(which has been dubbeb«The Clap» for short). Like a Bayview dive bar but with less snooty hipsters and more friendly locals. Good drink prices, and convenient location next to Lalli’s pizza. Like a match made in heaven. Maybe it’s been the company, but I’ve never had a bad experience at The Clap.

Club Tap is the quintessential neighborhood bar. It’s a small, one-room space that is more long and narrow than it is short and wide. It’s not a hip, popular place to visit and they don’t serve food. But it is a bar within walking distance of many in the Pasadena and Swan Neighborhoods and you can count on them to be open pretty much anytime; they boast that they are open 365 days of the year. They even open by 9am on the Fourth of July to serve those coming out to watch the Independence Day Parade. Recently the bar was taken under ownership by those who own Lalli’s Pizza, a carryout and delivery establishment next door to the Tap. The bar closed for about a week this summer and the locals eagerly anticipated the much-needed renovations were were sure they would be making. No dice. When we came back, the place was the same old tap with just a few new faces behind the bar. The Tap has always been pretty much your beer and on-the-rocks type of bar. You won’t find any frozen drinks and since you’re more likely to end your night there then head there to watch a college football game on a Saturday, it’s a not place you’d seek out for a good Bloody Mary. The Tap is a tell-it-like-it-is, we-don’t-care-what-anyone-else-thinks, take-it-or-leave-it type of place. They have never been and never will be a place that tries to impress. At least they’re not trying to be something they aren’t? I say all of this lovingly, mind you. I have a love-hate relationship with this bar.

Hey if you don’t want that sign. Let me buy it! Please.?? Cozy dive style. Bar very casual. Good selection of crafts and drafts. I like this place but sadly they plan to close soon and reopen with new owners. I suppose they don’t intend to change the name as the sign has lots of history. The customers are creatures of habit they’ll be here. I don’t expect much change. But YMMV — your mileage may vary. Try them out. If they don’t meet your expectations. Let them know or lower your standards. :) Food n/a food from Lalli’s pizza to the East will easily fix your pizza craves. Amb 4 Service 5 Location 3 Value 4 62⁄2014

No dogs allowed? Even on the patio outside?! The place doesn’t even serve food and they don’t even allow dogs on the outside patio. Dirty and stanky place.

A little bit of the Southside in the heart of Tosa. Tosa has no other hole in the wall bars like Club Tap, so there is little to compare it to. This place is small. Think Smart Car small and the bathrooms are«functional» at best. What they do have is the largest selections of Hillbilly comedy songs on the Jukebox that you will find anywhere outside of a Nascar bar. We stopped in recently and were treated to a couple of patrons who were rowdy drunk at 7pm(on a Monday) and were singing these country yuckster classics at the top of their lungs and attempting to coerce the rest of the patrons in the bar to do the same. We stayed just long enough to eat our Lalli’s pizza and shoot a few games of darts and we were out. From what I understand, the cast of characters here changes daily and no two visits are the same(see Stephanie L’s review). I’ll give it another try if the situation arises, but seeing as how I’ve lived in Tosa for over 10 years, and this was my first visit, it will probably be a while. One thing I will guarantee: If I ever come back, it will involve Pizza from Lalli’s next door. It may have been the one thing that made my visit enjoyable on that particular night.

One of my favorite bars to go to in the area. My brother, I and our spouses regularly meet up here and it’s a nice place to unwind. The staff is friendly and recognizes us when we stop in. The selection of beers is good and they pour decent drinks. The music can be a bit loud at times and tough to fund a seat at other times, but it’s always a good time at the CT.

The Tap is much like the closet in «The Witch and the Wardrobe.» You never know what cast of characters you will see or meet once you walk through the door. That is not to say there are not the«regulars,» but you are normally entertained by the patrons cycling through on any given night. This particular evening, my fellow bar-hopper and I watched the beginnings of a bar fight and a mass of Christ King parents wearing their best recycled bridesmaid dresses and prom tuxes. See what I mean? Where else can you expect to have such a colorful evening? The solo bartendress was able to sling drinks and stop the bar brawl all within the hour we sat at the counter. Now, on this night, we did not enjoy a Lalli’s pizza with our beverages, but you are able to order at the neighboring pizza joint if you so desire. You walk next door to order, and they will deliver it for you. Now, that is service. It is one of the best partnerships I now. Well, in addition to the partnership that blossomed between my husband and I at that very bar. It was one of our first dates, sipping G&T’s and devouring a medium Lalli’s sausage & cheese pizza. If nothing else, Club Tap creates memories. Do not let the«dive bar» status fool you.

Given that I grew up on the south-side, I have had little experience(up until recently) with Tosa dive bars. I am learning that there are a lot of them. We stopped in for a little bit of St. Patty’s Day shenanigans, and we found them. The bartenders were nice, and the patrons friendly. If only Lalli’s would have been open for lunch, and I could have checked that one off the list of things to do as well.
