Cutting Group

If you’re like me and have pretty simple hair to maintain, The Cutting Group is great. Given how straight, long, and not-​colored my hair is, I often go 3 – 6 months between haircuts… oops. So that’s really no good for having a regular stylist. The Cutting Group is perfect for me because I can get a good quality haircut without the commitment of regular salon visits.
I previously went to the Farwell location since I lived downtown, but I’ve recently started going to the Whitefish Bay salon. They’ve recently added call-​ahead scheduling, meaning you can call in advance to add your name to the waitlist. This is fantastic, as it’s not unusual to walk in and find out there’s a two-​hour wait. So to clarify — you cannot call ahead to make an appointment. But you can at least call ahead and get a quoted time to arrive, thereby sparing you the need to wander through WFB for an extended time until a stylist is available.
The stylists here are always friendly and provide great cuts. Due to how the Cutting Group works, with stylists rotating among locations and over to Beauty salon, I’m not sure I’ve ever had the same stylist twice. But like I said, I’m a non-​committal haircut person, so for me that’s perfect. Between the flexibility The Cutting Group affords and the great prices ($ 25 — $ 22 if you’re on the email list), this will be my go-​to spot for the foreseeable future.

Join the cutting club online for $ 21 haircuts. I was so tired of paying $ 40 and up just for a trim that this was a great cheap option. However, it is only walk in so I would avoid their peak times (weekends, pms etc)

I have been going to The Cutting Group on Humboldt for several months and have always had an enjoyable, nice cut. Right before the holidays I went to the WFB location in a hurry and it was a bit disappointing. Not only does it lack the hip vibe of the East Side location, but the staff was pretty ‘meh ‘…
The two girls working hardly spoke to me or the young boy that was also there for a cut. The whole experience was less than relaxing. I left feeling like my scalp had been assaulted by the comb! Too rough!
I’ll be heading back to Humboldt next time!

Another lovely haircut for my teenage daughter. Hard to find a reasonably priced hair salon where you can get such high quality. We get so many compliments on my girl’s hair – had to share. Thanks Cutting Group. Hope you are here to stay.
