David Liska Custom Jeweler

We approached David with a desire for a unique piece of jewelry without a serial number and some sketches, and I now wear on my finger a beautiful piece of art that will forever represent our love. David managed to reconcile our quixotic vision and the real world to push the limits of jewelry making and deliver a piece that meets and exceeds our expectation. We jumped into this process with admittedly no knowledge of jewelry, and David not only advised us, but also educated us. During our first meeting, David spent several hours after business hours with us, explaining the ins and outs of diamonds and helping us choose the best one to fit the vision we had for the piece. Now we had been to several diamond stores and gotten «the spiel» but David really helped us understand and make the best decision for ourselves rather than pushing us toward something. He is a «no fluff» guy, which I truly appreciate, especially in the wedding industry where seemingly everything is fluff. During that first meeting, I distinctly remember him saying «if you can dream it, we can make it happen,» and he followed through with that statement.
I am a mathematician by schooling, an engineer by trade, and an artist at heart, so I really wanted to be involved in the design of my custom ring. David did not shy away from this as many others did, but allowed me to do as much of the process as I could and then took my idealistic model and turned it into a real ring. He spent countless hours working to ensure that my design intent was not lost, but the ring and diamond were still safe. He always communicated with us and was clear and concise in his communication.
I would recommend David to anyone looking for a piece of art that no one else could ever have. Whether you have always had a vision of exactly what you want, or would like him to create a design around something meaningful to you, David is your guy. He is not only an expert in his field, he is a genuinely good person who turns dreams into a concrete symbol of love.

The stars must have been aligned perfectly on 7÷20÷2015… While in town for my company’s annual meeting (Northwestern Mutual) I was fortunate to find David Liska… With a wedding anniversary just 4 days away my time was limited. I spent an hour with David on Monday discussing my wife’s jewelry interests… Her taste… Her likes dislikes & personality. We explored options & I gave Dave a budget range. In the next 24 hours David went to work. By noon Tuesday David had 10 pieces of jewelry for me to review. He took his time with me explaining each ring… Size of stone, types of gems… Type of gold… Origin, etc. I made my choice. By 8am the next morning I picked up my wife’s beautiful, perfectly sized ring on the Über ride to the airport.
My wife loved it & we love David. Best of all, we feel we now have our families own personal Jeweler. David Liska is a prince! Despite the 750 mile distance to Milwaukee, all future family jewelry purchases will be through David.

I had been looking at wedding bands to go with my engagement ring all around different jewelers in Milwaukee and was becoming discouraged because I couldn’t find bands to fit the setting of my ring perfectly, within my budget.
Google provided me with David Liska in Milwaukee so I called to make an appointment. The first time I called I spoke with Sharon, David’s sister, and she was incredibly friendly while setting up my first appointment. I sent her a picture of my engagement ring to keep on file and to give them an idea of what I needed created. His office is located above Rock Bottom, so park anywhere around there and go to the third floor!
During my first appointment my fiancé and I discussed with David what we were looking for in terms of wedding bands for both of us and he came up with some a quick design sketch that I was really excited about. After we discussed my bands we discussed my finance’s, and then he asked what our budget was. We discussed it and he was very open about what he could do for us within our budget. It was more design and way better than anything we had seen at any other jeweler and I could tell by looking at the pieces that were made for others, that he did an amazing job.
From there, he had took my ring for a couple of days to create a wax to send to his CAD artist so that he would be able to put together a digital rendering of David’s design and David would be able to start his magic.
Just a couple weeks after the CAD drawing was received I had my rings in a great little jewelry box for safekeeping until our big day. The whole process took about two months, though we were not in a hurry because our wedding date is far enough away that the only urgency was my excitement, and I don’t think I was without my engagement ring for more than a couple days — including resizing! This will obviously depend on what you are asking him to do, but if you go anywhere else, they will hold onto your ring for a «7−10 business days» based on how long their queue is.
One other benefit is that he works on an appointment basis. When you meet with him he can give you his undivided attention and you have more flexibility to come up with your dream ring. I found other jewelry stores to have hours that were restrictive based on my work schedule.
I would not think twice about referring people to David, in fact, I already have, and we will definitely be going back to David when we need more pieces made. You will not be disappointed.

David Liska did an amazing job crafting an engagement ring and wedding bands for my wife and I. All of the pieces were custom and he was amazing at guiding us through the process. Our rings are perfect and all the more so because they are a unique expression of our love.
