looks super sketchy from the outside and inside. Prepare to feel like a foreign person. Your basically walking into a restaurant where many local Mexicans come to. This place is the real deal! Horchata is ! Careful not to get full of drinking it too quick, you’ll want to save room for the meal My favorite dish is the Tampiquena. Loads of skirt steak, 2 cheese enchiladas, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice, beans and tortillas. It’s so much food I save seconds for later. Food does take awhile but totally worth the wait. Place is really small so hopefully you come at a time where their seats available. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee area. Very authentic, traditional, and fresh!

Had lunch with my dad and sister on Saturday. My dad knows Milwaukee almost as well as I do and told me the place used to be a George Webb. He used to go there after bowling many years ago. The atmosphere is completely divey and dingy, which are among the characteristics I liked about it. The menu was surprisingly large for such a small venue, and the combination plates were all $ 8.50, which is what we chose to order. meat options for these combinations are chicken or picadillo(seasoned ground beef). My sister had the Acapulco combination plate with chicken, which included a taco, enchilada, and quesadilla, with a side of rice and beans. I tatsed a bite of the shredded and marinated chicken from her plate and LOVED it. The chicken was tender and the flavor was outstanding! I was confused by the item that should have been a quesadilla. It appeared to be a deep-fried flour tortilla folded like a taco. Perhaps it was a gordita and not a quesadilla. Not sure what was going on there. My Jalisco combination plate came with a taco, enchilada, and tostada with rice and beans. I asked for a chicken enchilada and picadillo for the taco and tostada, but they brought me picadillo for all three items. The rice and beans were typical and good, but not awesome. The picadillo had a nice flavor, but not as good as the chicken. All plates came with fresh lettuce, tomato, and avocado. The service was solid and I think an owner or manager came to check on us. The only sore spot for me was that I wanted to order the enchiladas dinner, but they were out of the mole sauce and the roja sauce, so I settled for a combo plate with one enchilada topped with salsa verde. I wish they would have made it with chicken. I would definitely eat here again and see if an upgrade is due.

I wanted some Mexican food for lunch and I have had this place book marked for 2 years so I went. Parking was easy on the street. The place is easy to find because it’s colorful. I was relieved to see I was the only non Hispanic person in the place so it must be good. The place is a Mexican dive I would say. The inside is small with a counter, a few booths and tables. The inside is colorful and a bit old school like a diner from the 50s. See the pictures. I have had one margarita in my life a very long time ago so I opted for the strawberry and I liked it. I have nothing to compare it to so I don’t know if it’s the best or just average but I found it refreshing. I ordered # 37 the carne asada and what a dish it was when it hit the table. There was skirt steak, two different grilled-peppers, grilled onion, re fried beans with cheese, Mexican rice, pico de gallo, guacamole and a lime wedge. A container with warm tortillas, corn and flour. The tortillas were not store bought and were very good. Everything was very good and the dish was like a mini buffet with all the best of Mexican on it. The beans were my favorite followed by the fresh guacamole and pico de gallo. The skirt steak was trimmed very well and sliced thin so it was not tough at all. The service was good and my server made some suggestions with the menu and drinks but # 37 would not get changed. Over all this place just hit the spot for my Mexican craving. I had plenty of food left over and left full. This was a nice new find for me and I’m glad I went. I didn’t have any problems and I’m glad it was authentic Mexican and not one in name only, that’s why I chose that neighborhood by the way.

Best Mexican food in milwaukee. Owners are genuinely nice and care about the quality of their food and customers. I would recommend to anyone. Great place, no need to go anywhere else after trying it once.

I used to be a regular customer here, but unfortunately the owners have no customer experience ! Besides that I had never seen any of the employees including owners wash their hands when handling food or money ! This is not Mexico! This is one of the worst dirty eatery I had seen !! If you enjoy that ! Then be my guess!

Walking in, I would have never expected the colorful façade to continue its way inside, but oh yes, it sure did. On the menu there was a plethora of breakfast options — this would even astound the non-egg-believer. It was a splendid brunch, topped off with nothing less than a lime margarita — whoot! Now who don’t know how to start a morning off right. right? A small, old school diner service with a few booths. The place is colorful, authentic, inexpensive Mexican fare, with a gracious owner(Francisco), as well as his entire staff. All-in-all a wonderful experience.
