Best crab rangoon anywhere! They’ve never disappointed me with any of their food! They’re kind, fast, professional and tasty! They may be slightly more expensive than other local places, but you won’t be disappointed.

Going down hill… fast! Joy’s used to be our go-to Chinese take out place. We started coming here in 2012. The food was great, service awesome and the staff would even make the food fresh while we would wait if we needed large quantities. Within the past year the service has changed. Fast forward to 2016… The food isn’t great anymore. Chicken is very greasy and the crab rangoon are always served soggy. The pork is basically all fat. Last night I bit down on a bone in the teriyaki chicken we ordered! So sad to have to find a new go-to spot, but this place has changed and I’d rather find somewhere that has good/quality food… even if it’s a bit of a longer drive.

The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Egg rolls were soggy, General Tso’s chicken was just sweet and sour chicken. Teriyaki Chicken wasn’t even as good as mall food court, and that’s not saying much. And it was expensive!

Wow I was in the area over the weekend and I stopped here. I ordered the beef fried rice and Mongolian beef. The beef fried rice should have been called fried rice because there was only traces of beef in it. The Mongolian beef had green peppers in it which I have never seen before, it’s been green onions. It tasted so sweet like sweet and sour sauce was in it and it was not spicey at all so I threw it away. The place is big and empty when drove up and I should have kept driving. What a waste.

Average American Chinese Food. Joy’s Wok occupies the space that formerly belonged to Goody’s and Trudy’s and something else I think. For a while it just felt like the property was cursed and driving past frequently enough and noticing the empty lot you may come to the same conclusion. So if you are new to the neighborhood or perhaps you are branching out on your quest to find the best Chinese then I have good news. They have plenty of available parking and plenty of seating inside. What is this a sign of? Poor Service? People too obese to drive there and utilize delivery only? Frankly it is the super average American Style Chinese food they serve. I seriously hesitate to call this«Chinese» in the straight sense because it has been modified for our taste buds. A lot of what you are ordering is seating out behind the glass ready to be shoveled into those awesome little white boxes. Am i the only one who enjoys take out in this delivery method? Certain items will be cooked to order. I am always hesitant about the quality of food sitting out. In most cases it’s a turn off. If you made it this far and wondered why you haven’t read a full detailed report on their sweet and sour chicken or the quality of their pork fried rice it’s because there is honestly nothing to say. It’s so standard and average that I am sure a number of places may come to your mind that has food that tastes just like this. There are no standout menu options and that’s a shame. Chinese cuisine has so much to offer. There is plenty of diversity making it really easy to cater to a lot of people’s tastes. You could be successful serving more authentic dishes to those Chinese Born American citizens or those American born folk looking to get a true taste of a different county. The food here falls in a more bland middle ground. Those looking for a nostalgic taste of China will come up disappointed and even those not well versed in the food will easily realize that it’s no different here then a Wong’s Wok as Alison noted 2 years ago. A suggestion to the owners. Look at the parking lot and ask«why?» What are potential customers looking for? Have they become more adventurous over the years? Has the influx of Asian themed cooking shows generated an interest that you could cater to? I would recommend going over your current menu and making a change with some more authentic food items. Something we can’t get anywhere else. You have a good sized building with ample parking at a fairly good location in West Allis. I think you’ll find some more success if you would consider this. All this said the service is typically good and that’s where the second star comes from. The prices are moderately low and what you would expect from the items served and quality of the food. I can’t rate this as average because I think there are average Chinese establishments of the same nature that could offer better in terms of quality.

It’s like a Wong’s Wok. Fast food Chinese. Not the greatest quality. Greasy. But if you like that Americanized-Chinese food, this place will do just fine by you. Delivery, carry-out, seating inside. Private parking lot. Cash, credit card…
