Got kids? Bring ‘em here. This free parking lot is open from dawn to dusk and has a fantastic view of the airport. You can see the terminals, the control tower, the entire long runway and when it’s busy, bucketloads of aircraft waiting to take off.
But even when it’s not busy, you’ll see and hear planes as they land and as they take off from Mitchell Airport.
Bonus: There’s a sign telling you to tun in to 88.5 — you can listen to the planes talk to the local ground control tower. Awesome! And it’s FREEEEEEEEE!
