Pita Brothers

Only ate here once, around 2 or 3pm in the summer so it was empty of patrons. They made me veggies fresh, since they didn’t have any waiting around, which I thought was a good sign. But I left thinking, «If I want a pita again in the future, I’m just going to get the ingredients and make it myself» because it seemed like everything was only kind of warm… If they haven’t changed their practices since this past August, their system is similar to chipotle in that their ingredients are all sitting out so you can choose them. But it just wasn’t the freshest to me.

My office ordered from this restaurant for lunch recently and I was NOT impressed. Thank God it was sponsored by my employer because I would have been pissed. I myself ordered the Gyro sandwich with a Chocolate Cookie. There were exactly 3 strips of gyro meet on my sandwich. They were average in thickness and about 4″ long. I mean you could literally count them. The pita was by far the best thing I had from there but it was not like a standard pita. It was a lot thinner yet a bit larger in diameter. Which was kind of strange given the lack there of in filling which was clearly present. I feel there are better places here in Milwaukee with this type of food (Greek), that give you way more bang for your buck. If you are going to pay $ 8 bucks for a sandwich, which comes with nothing with it, that sandwich better be well worth it!!!
If it were me, I’d go to Oakland Gyros or Gyro Palace before this place any day, where you will at least get rice pilaf or fries with your order for the same price pratically with WAY MORE MEAT. However, if you are intentionally wanting small portions due to your diet, here ya go. This place is for you then. LOL

This place is nasty. First I found a hair in my sandwich, second the service was so slow there where like 4 people standing around while me and my friends were waiting, thirdly my sandwich/​pita whatever was so hard to bite. Plus I think that was the boss that was yelling at the employees in front of the customers (me) that is so unprofessional. I’m sorry but I will never step a foot into pita bros again, and I will be telling my friends and families.

Let me just say, I’ve been a huge fan of the Pita Bros since they were a food truck. Not only are these guys absolutely adorable, they are also super friendly and you can tell they really put their heart and soul into the work they do. That said, I’m super excited that these guys finally opened up their own shop on the Marquette campus, not far from where I work.
Throw back to a year or two ago, I vividly recall waiting in line outside of Campus East/​the AMU during my time at Marquette just to get my pita fix. Not only are the items fresh, but you can see them being prepared in front of you in this tiny environmentally friend car. If you wanted to feel good about what you were eating, this food truck was a must-​go-​to. Now they’ve upgraded to a full shop and I couldn’t be happier.
I haven’t been to the new brick & mortar shop on Wisconsin Ave. (still on campus), but I have been calling the last few weeks about delivery and today, my prayers were answered. I called after what I assumed to be the lunch rush (so after 1:30ish) and was told that they weren’t quite ready for delivery services just yet. And I’m like, okay, cool, it’s a new place and patience is a virtue I am willing to pretend I’ve mastered for great, tasty, fresh food.
To my surprise/​shock, less than half an hour later I get a call from one of the owners saying that he was willing to deliver my food to me. I felt bad because they might not have delivery set up completely just yet, but this guy wants to deliver me food. HOW CAN I SAY NO?! I’ve been waiting DAYS/​MONTHS/​YEARS/​FAR TOO LONG to taste that falafel again. And less than half an hour later I see a happy, friendly face excited to have delivered this amazing pita to me.
I am happily munching on my falafel pita with fresh veggies, grilled mushrooms, Sriracha sauce & apparently a ton of love added to it, as I type this.
You’re probably like, there are a ton of places that make pitas these days downtown. What makes these guys different? The ingredients are fresh and NOT pre-​cooked/​reheated like some places. Also, I’m pretty sure the falafel is homemade, and tastes amazing. So, do your taste buds a favor and try these guys out if you haven’t already.

First stop at their brick & mortar location on the MU campus — this after years of walking by the long lines at their trucks!
Instantly impressed at the service and quality of the food. I demolished a falafel pita with roasted red pepper hummus, tahini, feta, and the requisite veggies. Delicious flavor, pita packed full, and ready in less than 3 minutes (admittedly I did beat the lunch rush by a few moments).
Under $ 12 for a giant pita wrap, chips, drink, and cookie. Worth the extra dough though.
Try the caramel apple oatmeal cookie; you will not regret your decision.

C average at best. Their food truck was better. Since it is their first day can only hope it gets better. Slow service and be wary of the combo deal. $ 2 for a bag of chips.

If I could give them ten stars I would. Or hell, 100! If you’ve never tried this little food stand before, you might think «Pitas? What’s the big deal?» So did I. But one day I gave in and I am so glad I did. There are no words to explain how delicious these pitas are. My favorite is chicken and hummus with yogurt sauce and a bit of sriracha. Everything is prepared right in front of you by the two nicest people you have ever met in your life. They are crammed into this tiny vehicle next to a hot grill on the hottest of days and I have never once seen them crabby or short with anyone. They take the time to listen to what you like and joke around with you as they prepare your food. They have great memories and will remember repeat customers, even when they see hundreds a day. I have stood in line for almost 45 minutes in Schlitz Park because it’s that good. A (large) pita, chips and soda will cost you about $ 8. How can you beat that?! (And last year they had amazing chocolate chip cookies as well… I sure hope those are back!). I think what won me over completely was last week when their credit card machine went down, they didn’t put up a sign that said «Cash Only» and turn away those of us with plastic. You know what they did instead? They prepared everyone’s orders anyway and said to pay them on the «honor system» the next week. Who even does that?!? I just love them and hope they enjoy tremendous success for years to come.

Get whatever you like on your wrap, but don’t miss out on their feta cheese & tahini.
Fairly priced. Don’t be a sriracha+falafel skeptic. I was. Now I”m not. I’m a believer.
Hummus & falafel are both meh. I actually thought that the bros would give me two or three whole falafels in my wrap, but they actually chop it up and fry it with whatever other veggies you request. I just thought that was odd since any other time I’ve had falafel sandwiches/​wraps, the falafel come wholly intact.
My food was made with more haste than care, but I feel fine about that.

Price was great. Very simple and i especially like how easy it was to make your pita as custom as you’d like. Plus anything with bacon is a win. Just so you all know they are in fact actually brothers and they are very pleasant individuals

I have a minor addiction to the food these guys put out. There is nothing fancy about it. Just straightforward, perfectly priced wraps.
If you have the option, go with the southwest ranch dressing. You won’t be sorry.

Great food! Don’t be fooled by the fact its «street» food. It’s top quality and deeeelicious. Recommend anything with southwest ranch!

Well, hello Pita Brothers. I’m so glad that you find your way over to Cherry St. every Tuesday to fill my hummus craving. At $ 5.50 for a wrap, how could I say no to you? You’re healthy, tasty and fast. My only beef is having to wait in line to get my food … but it must mean you’re just that good. Can’t wait to see you next week!

I caught the food truck bug and now I want to try them all. I had hear about the Food Truck Friday’s at Cathedral Square so I made my way over there for lunch today. I was in the food for a pita. And this cart is definitely the healthier option of the carts there.
One, their truck is so cute, it is this environmentally friendly zero emission two seat-​er vehicle. When parked the side of the vehicle pops open and there is your grill. Hard to explain, I guess you have to see it in person. Their menu is on a mini-​lcd screen and they take debit/​credit. Very cool.
So, I followed Jon A’s advice at got the falafel pita. I got mine LOADED! Here is what it entailed:
–Falafel (warmed up on the grill)
–Freshly grilled mushrooms
–spinach
–tomato
–hummus
–cukes
–tahini sauce
Reasonable priced at $ 5.50
Don’t think I’ll be hungry for a long time.
Yup, I’m into these guys. Hard.

freaking yum! I’m looking forward to the weather getting nice again so they’ll be chilling on Wells, waiting for my business. I love the steak and hummus pita. Also a plus, if it’s your first time there they give you a free cookie which is surprisingly good!

First had a falafel sandwich from them during the Summer Solstice festival. It was excellent. So fresh and so huge. Not much else to say about the Pita Bros except that I wish they could be in 10 places at once. I’m never able to make it over to Marquette for their usual lunch hours.

First time I stopped by Pita Brothers, I was impressed by not only their efficiency but also their great customer service. I let them chose my order as this was my first time, and I have to admit, the chicken and hummus was really great. Affordable, friendly, and tasty, I highly recommend Pita Brothers in Milwaukee.

Very tasty and a filling meal at a reasonable price! I’ve only ever had the falafel pita even though I’ve visited the cart several times — it’s always too good for me to want to try anything else! It’s easy to keep track of where they will be by being their «fan» on facebook or following them on twitter. A Thursday lunch tradition in the 3^rd Ward — we’re always sad when they can’t make it! Keep up the great (& tasty) work guys!

This was my second time to Pita Brothers. My first visit was for a breakfast pita which was so good! It had scrambled egg, sausage and cheese. It was grilled to order and the eggs were cracked right on the grill so you know it was all fresh! It was a lot of food for early morning, but how can you complain about having too much?! Pita was around $ 5.00 I believe.
When I came back today I had lunch and ordered the falafel pita. I wasn’t originally planning on ordering it, but the guy in front of me did and it looked delicious… and it tasted just like it looked. The ingredients were all fresh and the wrap was jammed packed with flavor. A great afternoon lunch. Pita was $ 5.25 +$ 2.00 for soda/​chips.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a yummy, fresh lunch to-​go, and also affordable!

I love their mission and their food. The first electric food vendor in Wisconsin. They drive a very small hybrid electric vehicle that emits no emissions and runs on a generator while parked. They serve up a vast menu of different style pita wraps with all sorts of toppings that you can have grilled or served on fresh. I love their falafel (tahini has yogurt, for vegans) they put on extra hummus for me since I am vegan and I love that they dont charge you for any of the toppings you want.
They also have chips, cookies, and an assortment of drinks.
They are extremely friendly, quick, and accommodating!
You can follow them on twitter @pitabrothers to know where they will be parked, as they move around. They come to Marquette, the 3^rd Ward, and other locations. Even just ask if they dont serve near you and I bet they’d come by!

How fun! Just had Pita Brothers for the first time today. I tried the Falafel pita, which was good and, btw — huge! I’m saving the other half for lunch tomorrow. Two lunches for $ 4.50 — can’t beat that! The brothers are friendly and quick, and I just love the novelty of this business. Plus — it’s parked in a great location — right on Catalano Square near MIAD, so it’s easy to just eat in the park instead of sitting at my desk. Also — I am not on twitter — but I heard them say they twitter their specials daily.
