This subway is part of a gas station and it seems like the same people own both. I usually try to frequent Subways on my travels because I can get a relatively healthy sandwich, and pile it high with vegetables. Some places stack on as many vegetables as you could ever want, and some places are extremely stingy. Unfortunately, this place is the latter. I got my regular sub and tried to start out with a lot of spinach. I was simply told, «we’re out». What?!! You’re out of spinach? Isn’t that something you should keep in stock? It’s not a rare thing to order. Anyway, I then asked for a lot of lettuce instead and the employee grabbed a few little shreds and put them on. I asked for more and she grabbed a few more shreds and put them on. OK… she’s not going to give me what I want with lettuce… let’s move on. I then asked for lots of tomatoes, and she grabbed two or three and put them on… for a foot-long sandwich. I asked for more, so they would at least fill the sandwich from end to end, and she added two more. Hmmmm… this sandwich was looking pretty lame. I tried my luck asking for a lot of onions(a few added), green peppers(a few added) and finally olives(maybe 10 or 12 added) before deciding that this was not going to be a desirable amount of veggies no matter how much I begged and pleaded. I’ve found that these stores that have the owners working the sandwich lines are extremely cheap with all ingredients. I understand that they can’t give everything away, but adding some extras veggies to a sandwich isn’t going to break the bank. I guess the next time I’m in Milwaukee I’m going to have to go a little bit further to find a Subway that actually gives customers what they want.
