I really liked the Green Kitchen when I stopped by the Public Market. Nothing like a good healthy dinner to make up for sitting on an airplane for almost 5 hours then in a car for another 1.5 hours. I got one of their delicious juices (can’t remember exactly which one) but it was delicious and gorgeous in color too. My drink was red on the bottom and green on top but the more you drank, the more red appeared at the bottom of the drink! I had such a hard time trying to decide which drink to get because they all looked great. I also got the Pear-​adise salad which was super good too. They allowed me to substitute the blue cheese for any other item at the salad bar which was really nice. My only critique would be that I’d like it better if there was more pear and that the pear was peeled. Other than that, it was a really filling salad which I couldn’t finish even at a regular size.
I’m lucky I don’t live anywhere close or I’d be such a sucker and come by all the time!

I LOVE this place! I get the veggie wrap and my partner gets a #13. We LOVE it! So worth braving the chaos of the Public Market! We did try their juices and they were ok (really expensive, but fresh) — but their sandwiches ROCK!
GO THERE!

Mark my words, everything is fantastic here: the super-​fresh ingredients, the steady-​paced «fast food» line, the nice staff. Any and all salad kiosks or similar operations ought to take notes.
I’ve been there probably a dozen or so times and each validated a return visit. So, I went there today for a much-​needed green lunch. I had the «Awesome Avocado» salad minus the sprouts, added green onions and I felt at peace with my salad self. This salad comes decked out with crisp spring greens, perfectly tender chunks of chicken breast, plump tomatoes, tender cukes, (avocado, duh), and walnuts. Then they use their magic stainless steel mixing bowl to toss the balsamic, um, perfectly and somehow fit it into a regular-​sized container. I can guarantee you will never leave there questioning why you just paid «that much» for lettuce. Cuz we’ve all been there. This is not going to happen at The Green Kitchen, I promise.
Other items I’ve had there that deserve a heavy hat tip: the Greek wrap (amazing), the green machine juice, cold-​killer juice, chai pear juice. ALL THE EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!

Every time I come here, there is one person working or someone skips in line because the ordering for salads v juices is unclear. It makes it hard to impart opinions on product when the rest of the experience is always marred.

This place is a stall within Milwaukee public market.
I am sure to visit every time i’m in Milwaukee. The smoky tempeh wrap and red roxie juice are to die for!

Does your stomach need a break from beer, brats and deep fried cheese curds? This fresh «fast food» spot is everything you’re looking for!
Vegetarian and vegan options if you’re on the go. That’s right: I said vegan. YAY!!!
I got the veggie collard green wrap, with sunflower seed spread, avocado, tomatoes, beets, onions, carrots and sprouts. I assume this qualifies as raw vegan. Ate half and finished the rest the next day — and it was still fresh and delicious!
Sort of wish the juices came in bigger sizes though …

I got the biggest, best-​tasting wrap of my life at The Green Kitchen last night. It was ENORMOUS. I got a veggie wrap with turkey (I know, I know — it makes no sense), and it was the size of my bicep (which is also huge), and it looked like a Jimmy John’s sub with extra meat. It was that big. Anyway, everything about the wrap was perfection, and I can’t wait to go there and order it again. But it’s so big that I’ll probably have to split it with someone else!

This is my second time here and I loving it even more. I had the pearadise salad again and order number 11 sandwich, simple amazing! Chicken breast on a perfectly made panini with mozzarella cheese, pesto sauce and urugula… I also tried the super green juice… Fantastic!

Their wheat grass shots are a great boost of energy and a great way to start the day!

This was the perfect stop for lunch after a week of being back in Wisco drinking beer and eating cheese curds! :)
The prices are very fair. Husband got a wrap and my father and I got salads. They definitely do not skimp on the veggies! You can pick from sizes: side (very large still), regular (perfect for a salad only lunch), and large (perfect for two meals).
The fresh pressed juices were so good! Definitely worth it but I’d recommend asking for ice with it to give it a crisp taste.
All the workers were sweet and sincerely helpful. Thank goodness for this place!

This places spins a pretty mean lunch time salad and doesn’t skimp on the best parts of the salad… The other stuff besides lettuce. Add that they have a commercial juices and make some of the typical ‘juice’ combinations on the menu. There really aren’t that many places in Milwaukee that have juices to order. Solid 4 stars.

I also got the super green juice which would have been great had I not been eating such an amazing salad. In comparison it was just ok.

My coworker got me hooked on The Green Kitchen, and I’m so glad she did because their Asian Wrap is to die for. It’s fresh, tangy, crunchy, and slightly sweet. I find myself craving it every week, and probably getting one as soon as I finish this review.
They make their juices right in front of you, so you know you’re getting the good stuff. My favorite is their Obango (orange, banana, mango) and Red Rooster (apple, beet, lime, strawberry). The Chai Pear (pear, apple, ginger, honey, cinnamon) is a close second. Perhaps it’s coincidental, but after drinking these suckers for the past couple months, my late afternoon caffeine crashes have subsided so that’s a plus.
The staff is friendly, and extremely efficient. They’re constantly moving, while maintaining a smile when dealing with not-​so-​pleasant customers. Kudos to them. They use fresh ingredients, so I never feel lethargic after eating here. It’s also a hot spot in the Public Market, and rightfully so, so there’s usually a line. However, I’m always in and out in less than ten minutes. The Green Kitchen’s pretty great, and I recommend any one who wants some vitamins in their diet to go eat here.
Okay, okay, I’m going to get my Asian Wrap now.

Their produce is always fresh and on bar, but the customer service here is usually lacking. Today was discouraging for me because they would not cater to my gluten allergy. I asked for a side salad and half sandwich (the special) on gluten free bread/​wrap/​lettuce whatever they have, and they said they do not do gluten free with the half sandwiches. In addition to this, I noted that the cost of a side salad went from $ 5.45 to $ 6.95. Considering the size of the salad, this is slightly absurd. You can get it for 3.99, however you only get 2 additional ingredients which is hardly worth it. I highly doubt this place is losing money based on the amount of customers I see their daily so I don’t understand why they had to cheapen their quantity and higher their already high prices. I will choose another place at the market next time.

Recently this has become my fav spot for grabbing a sandwich before doing some studying downtown. I’ve tried the #11 and the #13 and they are both excellent choices. It’s all about the ciabatta bread that they make the hot sandwiches with. When it comes off the panini press you get a great crunchy exterior with a fluffy interior. The ingredients taste fresh, they have sprouts (major plus for me), and the sandwiches are big for a reasonable price ($ 8).
I’ve still been meaning to try some of their juices which seem to be really popular. Their salad bar has a nice selection of ingredients but I haven’t had a chance to make one yet.
The wait can be a little long, especially on weekends, but that gives you some time to walk around and explore the rest of the public market and all of its offerings.

The first time I visited Milwaukee Public Market I saw a woman ordering a giant, glorious salad from The Green Kitchen and it has been one of my favorite counters to walk by since. Their selection of toppings is so bright and delicious looking that it is hard to resist ordering a $ 12 salad on the spot.
However, despite The Green Kitchen’s colorful and nutritious display, I am a reluctant salad lover so I had only ordered their sandwiches before, until recently when I ordered a salad for the first time. I made a few mistakes. I was at MPM around lunch time so the line was five people deep and the staff was pumping out salads at top speed. High pressure ordering situations like this stress me out (I’m working on it) so I made a last minute decision to order a salad from their specials list instead of choosing my own toppings, even though that is what I was so excited about in the first place! The salad maker put chickpeas on the salad instead of chicken but graciously, if not a little reluctantly added chicken upon my request. I got a regular ($ 9.50) although I would have been well served with a side ($ 6.50), salad leftovers are a hard sell for me once they’ve hit the fridge.
Anyways, salad-​ordering virgin mistakes aside, the salad was excellent and I will definitely go back. If you’re taking a group to MPM, grab a salad to share along with your other treats and, if you dare, choose your own toppings! I will next time.

I like the Green Kitchen — especially the option to build-​your-​own sandwiches and salads. (I’m a bit of a control freak)
Most recently, I grabbed a «Cold Killer» juice which combines fresh squeezed citrus, ginger, wheatgrass and honey. I can’t say it cured me, but it was absolutely tasty and I did feel better after drinking it. I’ve also enjoyed salads from here too and felt like the portions were fairly generous with lots of options to pick from.
In terms of price point, I’d agree with others that Green Kitchen isn’t «cheap» but I am okay paying a bit extra for fresh, healthy options. On the minus side, the staff seems to range from «disinterested» to «downright hostile».

Custom is key here. Make your own juice, salad, wrap or sandwich. They have a number of sandwich options ready to order, both hot and cold varieties. Literally, numbered. # 1 – 15. They are large. So large that I am typically full after eating half of one.
There are a few seasonal salad combos, otherwise you’re on your own to choose your favorite ingredients and dressing. Three sizes available to choose the amount of greens and other veggies you’re into at the time.
Lots of juice options with fun names, or again create your own potion. Watch as your fruits are juiced right in front of you!
Allow some time when you come here, as the Green Kitchen has a line during lunch and dinner rushes. If you opt for a panini, you will need to wait a few extra minutes no matter what time of day.
My faves on the menu? Red Roxie and the newer Super Green juices, number 11, Awesome Avocado, and seasonal veggie salads.

I can barely go to the Milwaukee Public Market without getting a super fresh healthy juice at the Green Kitchen.
Even though I also often get their warm paninis, that might not be the healthiest… I still sort of feel like they’re healthy, and that’s fine by me. I probably should opt for their salads more often, since they have so many veggies that I normally don’t have in my house, but luckily I live close, so there’s still time.
Staff is friendly, and often allows me to add other ingredients into the juices I order. I have gotten the Red Rooster a few times (I think there are apples, beets, strawberries… and something else in there) but they let me add celery, spinach, wheatgrass if they have it. The idea that I am drinking something so nutritious makes me really happy. To me, the juices feel like they are totally worth the $ 4.77 they come to after tax.
