The Noble

Food is delicious and cool little restaurant. Limited seating for groups larger than 2 outdoors. Only 2 or possibility 3 tables that can accommodate groups larger than 2 outside due to arrangements.
Like I said food tasty and daily menu items based upon season and availability. However not 5 stars because you will wait for EVERYTHING. Even basic items as such as water. They had 3 staff on service side and everyone was responsible in helping every table. I suspect one of the staff was relatively new as she regularly made service errors such as not knowing if place had Wi-​Fi, bringing our bill to table before our dessert arrived, informing me that someone else would take our drink orders. The other servers were great.
Very reasonably priced. Dark outside to the point couldn’t see most of food when sun went down. Arrived when sun was fully up. They would do well with more string lighting perhaps.
Good very tasty but deliberate in coming to table. Probably due to kitchen as ability. They will call it personalized preparation but more likely size and availability of space. At one time after a while I noticed not a single person seated outside had food on the table. Not a single person.
Overall good food and price. Cool environment. Don’t expect anything quickly or nor would I suggest groups larger than 2. We had a group of 3 and it made all the difference, including much longer wait time for table.

We’ve never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant ever — and we’re over 60. And we eat out a lot. My husband and I arrived ahead of our 2 other friends for dinner. We were curtly told we could not be seated until our friends arrived. And of course they won’t take reservations. Even though we wanted to sit and order appetizers. Nope. No way. We sat in a corner until our friends arrived (who were stuck in traffic) and were «lucky» enough to get the last table in this tiny, but cute, restaurant. As we had play tickets, we would have gone elsewhere. And besides, there are too many good restaurants in this part of town to wait anywhere. I appealed to their good nature as our friends were 2 minutes away and only one table left. Nope. «We’ve been in business 5 years and we know what we’re doing» was the response. I do not think the hostess, possibly the owner, has a good nature.
The server was equally as nasty and arrogant. She was visibly annoyed that we asked the price of the daily specials. One should not have to ask. And just plain annoyed that we asked any questions at all. And don’t even think about asking to split the check! Lots of rules here. And none of them adding up to good customer service. Think the Soup Nazi Seinfeld episode. It’s a tiny tiny place with little place to wait for a table; it’s just plain claustrophobic.
However, the food was wonderful, thus the 2 stars given. Kudos to the chef! We dropped over $ 200 here but will never ever go back. Too many other friendly places to go.

Plan for a wait, but go here!!!
We read the reviews on Unilocal,so we planned ahead and had a snack before we went to the Noble. We had an hour wait, but were greeted and provided a drink right away.
Fortunately or unfortunately we sat in the two chairs off to the side of the bar and watched one of the waitresses (April I think) not act very professionally to the other waitresses and to the guests. She indicated she wasn’t feeling well, but that’s no excuse.
Other than that, we have nothing but praise for the restaurant! I had the pasta with pork, which was one of the best meals I had since moving to MKE two years ago. My husband had steak, but agreed mine was the best.
The drinks and dessert were both amazing. Seriously, save room for dessert! Their customary dessert with cheesecake and butter cake crust was amazing, no really, more than amazing!
Bottom line is GO HERE, it’s worth an hour wait for a table.

So much yum. The Noble served us the best meal in Milwaukee since moving here in January. Our whole meal was one of those rare experiences where everything was just purely fantastic and unforgettable. We were able to try two appetizers (baked brie and baked garlic), four different entrees, and two different deserts. All were great… we had a hard time picking our favorite item!
The Noble does not take reservations and with it’s limited seating, you will most likely wait for a table on the weekend. Luckily their patio area just opened up outside, which will make those times a little shorter hopefully!
Not great for groups over 6 people, since there is really only one large table inside. Although it is a perfect intimate spot to impress a date.

The Noble is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It’s a cozy space, with a few tables. They have a small menu that changes all the time. The good is great, I have loved everything we get each time. They also have good drinks, the Milwaukee 704 is wonderful, refreshing and a little tart.

Dave, April, and Maggie did an amazing job with the drinks, food, and ambiance. If you want a meal done right The Noble is your spot.

Always, always, always make the effort to eat here. The cozy atmosphere with the fantastic drink list would be enough reason to stop in, but the food is the true star here. Some menu items are the same– some appetizers, salads, etc. The main courses are on a rotating menu guaranteed to please any palate. Pork, beef, fish, veggie, soup… take your pick. All of them are phenomenal. GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!

Monday brunch is a complete shitshow. Don’t waste your time like we did. I’ve never been so pissed off by a restaurant experience in my life.
The first time we went, we arrived right when they opened and were seated right away. However, it took at least 20 minutes to order and longer than that to actually get our food. When it did finally arrive, my baked eggs were undercooked and watery. The flavor was still there and my boyfriend’s scallop dish was great, so we returned a few months later. BIG MISTAKE.
We arrived later on our second visit and were given a wait estimate of 45 minutes. SEVERAL people, who were clearly friends of the staff, were seated before us while our wait climbed to the hour and a half mark. Some of them were allowed to dine on the patio while the rest of the outdoor tables remained vacant! The hostess gave me serious attitude when I pressed her for an explanation, telling me that people were taking longer to leave than usual and sarcastically quipping that *I* could go up to the tables and tell them to hurry up. What kind of shit is that?! Maybe y’all could learn how to flip tables faster, give realistic wait estimates, utilize all the available seating and NOT SEAT YOUR HIPSTER HOMIES BEFORE CUSTOMERS? We just gave up and left, f that noise. The food is good but NOWHERE is worth putting up with all that. Y’all are major dicks.

My partner and I dined at Aristocrat for the very first time on Friday. The food he was excellent to handle. He kept us up to date with the improvement of the repair. Their work is impeccable. Our automobile was done just as promisepopularity, not its efficacy and good worth it. Paraphrasing the Terminator… We’ll Be Back!

So seriously … This restaurant is smaller then you could even imagine. This was my second time dining at The Noble and again it did not disappoint!
Here’s the scoop: there are like 5 tables in this place and about 8 bar stools, so when people say there is a wait, believe them… You will wait. I’d also say don’t bring a big group of people to this place either — 6 at the most and get there at 4:50 and wait 10 minutes before they open :)
Thank god summer is coming up because they will double in size with the patio!
We got there at about 5:45 on a Saturday night. All the tables were taken (not surprised) however there were seats at the bar. We were able to sit and enjoy our drinks before we were seated to eat — the waitress told us we would be waiting at least 30 minutes… It ended up being longer, but whatever we were happy in our little corner with our drinks. The drinks are good! I had the bourbon peach — it was pretty solid.
The food was phenomenal. Started with mussels in a curry sauce and a small trio dip with warm bread — both were yummy! Entrees… Grilled boneless pork chop with blue cheese and cherry sauce with jasmine rice and zucchini and yellow squash. It was so delicious I stopped eating halfway through so I could take it home. The others in my group raved about their dishes as well although my husband had the coulotte steak with a spicy sauce and fingerling potatoes — it was ok — the sauce was a little overwhelming.
Their menu changes frequently so definitely go check this place out! Just be prepared for a long wait, good drinks, and small tables — you are basically sitting in your neighbors lap! But it is so charming in this place you will want to go back again and again!

My husband and I came here for dinner before an Admirals game. We’re guessing The Noble doesn’t get many patrons wearing hockey jerseys but it didn’t matter. It had just opened and we were the first customers of the evening. By the time we left, every other table was filled with a variety of people in a variety of dress-​including one dude who wore a backwards baseball cap through his entire meal. As we’ve stated before, we are not prudes, but come ON… that is rule one of good table manners.
That being said, our meal was wonderful. There’s little point in describing what we ate because the menu changes frequently. It was delicious, aesthetically pleasing, appropriately filling, and remarkably affordable. Our appetizer and entrees were from the daily specials and we split the house dessert. Their drink menu is impressive and let’s just say the $ 1 Boxer beer is worth the price.
Service was excellent. There seemed to be 3 people working in the tiny dining/​bar area and they tag teamed all the tables.
It was a great meal at a quirky little place. We hope to come back soon.

2 words: Monday brunch. I hate to give away the secret of this intimate weekly occurrence but the people must know. Great service, unique drinks, and a board full of delicious concoctions every week. It’s wonderful.
Dinner never disappoints either. A lovely place for a cozy date night.

This was my first time eating here and I’ll definitely be back. The small quaint atmosphere and great retro music sets the mood for an incredible meal. We started with the Rubin Dip starter with bubbling cheese, sauerkraut, topped with French dressing and ciabatta bread for dipping, followed by the Cherry Walnut Kale salad. All ingredients fresh and made in house I could have stopped there but the entrées were calling. I had the Boxy (potato pancakes with sautéed cabbage topped with sour cream). My husband had the 14oz rib eye with creamy lobster sauce. Flavors were well thought out and delicious. We closed the dinner with their specialty cheesecake.
There is no surprise why this restaurant is always packed.

I’ve been waiting to go here for a long time and my expectations were high.
I would sum it up as good but nothing was spectacular.
We started with the three dip trio and a salad. Solid choices.
The entrees change daily but we tried the pork chop and the pulled pork. The chop was cooked perfectly but heavily (you can read that as overly) salted. The pork was very good but didn’t seem to be paired appropriately with the rest of the plate.
I’d go back if I happened to be in the area to give the restaurant another chance, but wouldn’t go out of my way.

On a recent visit to Milwaukee we picked a random, and I can’t believe it, Bullseye, THE NOBLE, with it’s hipster vibe and turn of the century décor!
You could easily miss it, being barely lit and pretty small.
Walking in randomly, we were quickly greeted by a very busy multi-​tasking hostess/​bartender/​waitress/​, even though we were assured a short wait, we were in close quarters to diners, (I hate that) but drink orders were taken and vigorously delivered while we waited.
The drinks were an assortment of clever craft cocktails assembled impressively «fast». I chose the TOASTED CLOVE which is Tullamore Dew with brown sugar syrup, cranberry juice, and garnished with a burnt orange.
The menu is ever changing, so you can’t look it up beforehand, guess it depends on their mood. The menu is recited to you once you’re settled in, covering all the food groups, so I guarantee you’ll like something and it will be AMAZING.
We opted for the Jumbo lump CRAB CAKE appetizer, The GNOCCHI dumplings with Portobello and locally found Oyster Mushrooms in a Red Pepper cream sauce for my entrée. Damn was it good .
Pretty full at this point, we knew we still had to try dessert, a Cream Cheese with almond extract butter cake, grilled pears and homemade whipped cream! Oh ya!
Overall a terrific dining experience that I totally recommend.
THE NOBLE
Make a reservation!

Among the litany of excellent restaurants in Walker’s Point, The Noble is just pretty good, which isn’t so much of a dig on them so much as it is a function of being in a really booming area. The intimate and eclectic space make for a great weeknight get-​together, and the daily changing menu allows for some creativity while keeping themselves grounded enough so that everyone is likely to find something they like.
The entrees are played pretty safe, although I recall a porkchop and cheese offering that caused me to raise an eyebrow. I ended up going with the chicken fried steak, which was very crispy, pretty tender, but was absolutely covered in a too-​sweet country gravy that was kind of a bummer. Because of it and the very large portion size I was done at the halfway point. It was served with a large hunk of dry cornbread.
The creamy tomato soup is perfect, and the trio of dips is a great appetizer. For dessert, I ordered a dessert waffle, which sounded better than it ended up being — literally just a waffle topped with ice cream. I appreciate the sweet baked breakfast cakes being repurposed for dessert, though I think more should have been done.
Food aside, the beer is cheap and the staff is clearly having a good time. It’s the kind of idyllic casual atmosphere you could imagine existed back in Walker Point’s old heydey before it became hipster central.

Had I not gotten wind of the famous Monday brunch, The Noble is a tiny place I might have just cruised right past!!! I was so delighted to have experienced this little dive! Monday brunch starts at 11:00… I showed up at 11:10 and had to wait an hour to be seated, but was served tasty beverages in the meantime. I tried both drink specials, including a honey liquor hot coffee as well as a chili pepper mango Bloody Mary. The coffee was a good start to a long wait… But it was SO WORTH THE WAIT!
The bloody was not spicy in itself… All the various hot peppers that come on top were a whole other story!!! I’m a hot head and enjoy my spicy food, and those peppers certainly delivered some heat!
I enjoyed a brunch special of pork chop with veggie and kale hash and a side of eggs. The pork chop was cooked to perfection. Super tender, and the creamy sauce on top offered a unique kick to the dish!
Overall a spectacular way to start my Monday. I am intrigued to go back to try more unique specials from a cool waitstaff and fun atmosphere.

The perfect date night dinner takes place at the Noble. If you’re trying to convince your man to try out the Noble, you just have to say something like this…
Ohh honey, I found this little classy restaurant in downtown Milwaukee. We musssssst try it tonight! It has a Dustin T. rating of 5 Stars on Unilocal!It’s a tiny place stuck on the first floor of an old building. It’s so popular that they do not even take reservations. So we should prrrrrrobably head there right at like 5pm if you don’t want to wait. Oh noes, it’s already 6pm, drat! That’s okay, Dustin T. said it’s totally worth the wait. He waited for over an hour for his first time there, and the staff took drink orders while they waited. And baby, you know I don’t mind spending a little extra time with you ;)
What’s that? What’s on the menu, you ask?
Welllllllll, to be honest, I don’t really know. It apparently changes every night. Yeah, you know it’s one of those fancy places with a small menu that changes every day. Don’t worry baby, dey got dat steak. Of course they have other stuff! Dustin. T said the pork de jourrrrrr was especially lovely. We had Chipotle for the past THREE dates! It’s time that you treated me properly.
TLDR: no, I’m not gay

One of the more disappointing experiences during my trip to Milwaukee. For a place with such good ratings, we had high hopes. My friend had eaten here before and had a relatively positive opinion, so we decided to partake in their Monday brunch on my last day in town.
We expected a wait, which was fine, as it was busy when we arrived (and we chose to wait longer for a table on the patio). But once we ordered, we waited for over an hour for our food and watched as nearby patrons who were seated after us, finish up and leave before we were even served?! The waitress had no explanation and barely an apology. We didn’t see her the entire hour we waited except for a quick refill on our waters.
My friends’ «hens and chickens» dish was awful. Just completely disappointing… plain and bland is how he described it and had to salt and pepper the heck of it to get any flavor. My baked eggs dish with ham and spinach had excellent flavor, but only had four or five small chunks of ham.
Thankfully the prices are low, so I can’t complain that we got ripped off. Just less brusque service would have been nice and an acknowledgement that we were there for two hours total (thankfully not in a rush!) This place screams «hipster» which really didn’t win me over, but for others’ it might be appealing… to each his own, I suppose.

Went in for brunch last week. I continue to get lucky picking the right brunch dishes.
This time, I passed on the Pomegranate Pork Chop, and opted for the Strawberry Duck Pancakes.
Every time I get the pork chop for brunch at The Noble, it is one of the very best pork chops I have ever had, and I knew this one would be too. Add that I RARELY, if ever order pancakes anywhere, but you say «Strawberry DUCK Pancakes» and you’ve got my attention.
I started with the special Bloody Mary of the Day ($ 11), which included an oyster and a box of candy conversation hearts. The oyster was still frozen and the Bloody Mary tasted like 2 parts water and 1 part tomato juice. Will not order their Bloody Mary again.
Thank goodness the food was great!
One of my friends ordered the Scallops Benedict. I tried a piece of scallop and it was stellar! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, just absolutely nailed!
His girlfriend ordered the Omelet of the Day, which I also tooka bite of and loved. I think it was filled with mushrooms and shallots and other good veggies.
I did order the Strawberry Duck Pancakes ($ 13), and was very pleased with my decision. The duck was braised and shredded (ish) and every piece was tender and not too fatty, if there was fat at all. The strawberry rhubarb compote that the duck was tossed in had the right amount of sweetness to it. The pancakes were perfect, but it wouldn’t have mattered because the duck and compote carried this dish regardless.
I still ordered an Egg in a Nest because I couldn’t go to The Noble without getting their Cheesy Hash Browns, and I can’t eat cheesy hash browns with fruity pancakes, so I needed the egg and piece of toast to make the cheesy hash browns work. Of course that meant I couldn’t finish my pancakes, but I did finish the duck. I’m not stupid!
The service was good and so were the Candy Conversation Hearts. In fairness, the candy hearts actually paired really well with the Bloody Mary. Maybe it was watered down on purpose.
Another successful Monday Brunch at The Noble, except for the Bloody Mary.
