Specialties
One of the best restaurants in Milwaukee’s lively downtown entertainment district, Rumpus Room frequently welcomes theater-goers before or after a performance at the nearby Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.
The Rumpus Room hosts a regular brew master series in which breweries from around the country come in and host a dinner paired with their beers. A weekday happy hour spotlights Wisconsin products including meats, cheeses, tap brews and Old Fashioneds.
History
Established in 2011.
The Rumpus Room was inspired by a bar of the same name owned by Joe Bartolotta’s father, Tudy in the 1950s. Tudy would take a trip to New York City twice each year and bring back the latest albums that hadn’t made their way to the Midwest yet. He’d let his loyal guests know via the US Mail «when the needle was going to drop,» and they’d pack in to hear the latest Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley album.
