Good food. Fun atmosphere! We sat in the balcony and think that is the way to go.

First of all, the food here is great. Never had a bad experience in that regard. Their grilled chicken sandwich is one of the top 10 things I have eaten in my life. I recommend the spicy garlic sauce! However, I’ve noticed that lately I’ve started being treated like a sack of shit by the waitresses. If I have one bad experience, I give it the benefit of the doubt. But… I can’t help but notice that the waitresses seem to treat me and my friends like a group of lepers? Seriously, we’re left to rot like a pile of corpses in the sun, dying of thirst because they refuse to fill our drinks, starving to death when we politely ask for the part of our meal has been forgotten(sauces, sides, etc) and the waitress promises to come back with it only to never return. The second-to-last time I was here, we watched our waitress walk back and forth past our table seven times(we made it a game to count) while we had all very clearly finished our food and drinks, watching her stop at other tables multiple times and even making conversation with other patrons as we waited. I made eye contact with her several times throughout this, but I must have been wearing my invisibility cloak. As I leave here today, tormented with the idea that I may, in fact, just be extremely ugly and should stop going out to eat at all, due to yet another waitress who left me abandoned in the shackles of my metal patio chair, I can only hope that this will change. How many others have to suffer before something is done?

Wicked Hop was a recommended spot for our party to stop for drinks and dinner prior to a concert we were seeing in town. This was one of the slowest moving dinners I’ve ever had. Total of 10 people in our party. We arrived at 530 pm and only some of our party received their meals. At 8 pm, two of the diners in our party had just finally gotten their food while the rest of us were finished and settled up our bills. Our server made it clear that she would not or could not itemize or split our checks… which was fine. Half our party paid cash, the rest opted to put a specified dollar amount on their debit/credit cards. Our server complained to the two remaining diners in our party that the rest of us has shorted her on a tip. She commented that if we thought that’s all her«service was worth then fine». Inappropriate, unprofessional and dishonest. She was left a tip by EACH of the 5 couples in our party. Either she is bad at math, or something else is up. Is this a common practice? For a server to complain to paying customers about the amount of money given for a tip? Bloodys were good, but steep at $ 10 each. Decent beer selection. Standard bar fare.

Friendly staff, but overpriced and mediocre food. The frites were cold and kinda stale but it was pretty busy so that might have been why. I may return during one of their less busy hours…

Wow! Best Bloody Mary in the city! Excellent pretzle bites with cheese sauce and mustard. also had salads which were really good. I love that they served a lakefront beer with my bloody.

Wicked Hop is a great place for lunch in the historic Third Ward. We loved the provolone sticks(not from a freezer!) as well as our sandwiches and Wisconsin brews. Our server was also very attentive and made sure we had all that we needed. Prices were very reasonable for the large portion sizes.

Decent spot. Drink selection is solid and food menu has your standard American fare done relatively well. They lose two-stars because the cocktails were disappointing and the food is just unnecessarily unhealthy and doesn’t seem to use high quality/fresh ingredients.

Feels strange to give this place a low rating when it seems so popular. I went after class with fellow grad students, and this place was packed. We waited for over a half hour for a table. The drinks were fine. I ordered the ahi tuna salad and was really disappointed – the tuna was overcooked and the salad dressing was pretty bad. This place seems really popular for brunch, but I guarantee you there are far better places in the third ward.

Wicked Hop made for a devilishly fun afternoon of beers and food this weekend. I’ve been to the Hop before but this time was just right. Blaring at a perfect volume was mid 70’s era music from Rick James to Aretha Franklin. We had just passed the morning rush and grabbed 2 seats at the bar next to the kitchen window. It was perfect and felt right. The food we saw coming out looked really great and the smells were delectable. First up a couple beers. They have plenty on draft and in bottles. Selection is key and the Hop has more than enough to satisfy. Next food time and more beer. Wife ordered the chikcen wrap which was really, really, really good. I will be ordering this the next time I come back. It was crunchy, juicy, soft and flavorful all at once. 5 stars for that wrap. I ordered the blackened salmon sandwich with sriracha mayo. This sandwich is big. Generous portion of salmon on it seasoned to perfection. This sandwich gets 4 stars. I would eat again in a heartbeat, but there is so many other items I need to check out. I probably don’t go to Wicked Hop as much as I should. It always seemed like one of the 3rd Ward tourist stops but I believe this particular visit has changed my opinion. Between the great food and excellent service I couldn’t have been happier that we decide to step in.

Seemed grossly unprepared for the crowd. Bar sevice was awesome. Table service was iffy. Never came back with our drinks. ¾ through the meal I went to the bar to get them. The reason for 4 stars was service when you could get it was always polite. They did their best. Enough said Bloodies are a meal in itself, and delicious and addiciting. Meal was great, I had the black angus sliders, son in law had the sixto lescano butrito. I had to explain who that was, daughter got spinach florintine Benedict. No complaints here

This place has an awesome vibe and good service. Ordered a Bloody Mary and ahi tuna salad, both of which are great. Can’t wait to come back.

I went to the Wicked Hop with some lady family members(group of 5) to start off our Milwaukee Bloody Mary Tour recently. Upon arrival inside, we were told the wait would be 30 minutes. It was raining, so we just stood inside at the front entrance waiting for a table. About 15 minutes into our wait, another group of 5 came into the restaurant. Time passes and passes until our 30 minutes was up and the other group of 5 was seated first at the nice window table. I inquired about what was going on to the hostess, because she seemingly forgot we were even there. 10 more minutes goes by and she finally seats us next to the other party’s table, right behind the hostess stand. She had no answers for me about why the other group was seated first even though they came in nearly 15 minutes later than us. She decided to be rude about it and acted like I was crazy. I’ve been a hostess before. It’s not that hard to look at your list and seat the groups that showed up first, in order. It’s ridiculous that someone cannot do their one job they were hired for. On other notes, we started with Bloodies which were pretty good. The mix was a bit thick and soup-like, but the garnish game was very on point(as you can tell from my photo and the other hundreds on here ;)). You can read my full review here: The food we ordered was decent but nothing too special– my mom and I split a wrap, which was perfect before we hit the town for even more Bloodies. Our waitress was nice, which somewhat made up for the hostess’s rudeness. I would maybe go back for a Bloody, but someone at the front of the house(cough cough …) needs some re-training.

Fun place. Good variety of music! Just a casual place to grab a few inexpensive drinks. We chose to venture out to The Wicked Hop after having my bridal shower in the Third Ward. Great location and best of all, it was walking distance. We had a blast! The Wicked Hop is a great place to dance if you wanna, but you can also sit back and relax as there are chairs and tables throughout– and it has a laid back tavern sort of feel in the adjacent room.

We came here before lunch just to grab drinks. It was Wednesday, around noon, and the weather was horrid, but I was surprised because the place was packed. They seem to have a large beer menu and maybe people ordered food. Over all, I really like a atmosphere here, casual yet nice, everything you might want from a corner bar. I ordered their bloody mary which was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. I love all the garnishes on top: shrimp, cheese, pickle, mushroom, sausage, olive, and it was very well priced. I would definitely like to come back to this place for a brunch someday.

Good place for food, great place for a bloody mary! Love the taste of their drink and it comes overflowing with fixin’s, including cheese, shrimp and beefstick. Definitely hit this place up for brunch on a weekend, but be ready to wait for a seat. Full bloody mary review at .

Came for brunch and mimosa. Waited over 35 minutes to be told that the breakfast/brunch menu had just ended(ends at noon). The saddest part is that we saw three tables unused during those 35 minutes of waiting. Hostess staff could use some training and could give the courtesy of letting you know only lunch will be available after you wait. We had our drinks and split. I do like a few breakfast items here, but their lunch/dinner menu is your typical bar food.

UUUUHHHHmazing brunch happening here. We arrived rather late on a Sunday for brunch but still only had to wait 25 minutes or so to be seated. Luckily, we were there during the art festival over Labor Day weekend so we were plenty entertained while we waited; they texted us when our table was ready. We were seated upstairs — a great use of space in the small-ish restaurant. This place buzzes… lots of energy, things to look at, smells, sounds. Kind of awesome. I started with a Joie de Vivre — a delicious blend of grapefruit juice with champagne and splash of chambord. The guy got coffee. So many great entrée options — we opted for one sweet and one savory so we could share. I got the Elvis Impersonator french toast, he got the Eggs Benedict. Both were absolutely awesome. I’d come back here in a heartbeat — next time, Milwaukee!

First five star I have given. Incredible 5 dollar Bloody Mary, tasty Italian beef with fruit instead of fries, beautiful ahi tuna salad and great service. Very reasonable prices. I will return… Great ambience of you sit outside. Additional fun on the ladies room with electronic sign sayings!

Stopped in here to grab a bloody mary while waiting to be seated across the street. The place seemed packed but they handled it really well and we were served our bloodies pretty quickly. The bloody itself was not bad. Their mix had some good flavor but was still lacking in a few areas. It was topped with a handful of large stringy cheese, a meat stick, a pickle, and some olives. For $ 10 it’s a solid deal.

This place is consistently quality with their food! I have been here a few different times over the years for different meals. They can be challenging to get into during brunch on the weekends, but dinner has never been a big issue. Their bloody mary’s are a must for brunch and are practically a meal in themselves! They have a excellent bar selection. I was really impressed that they had 2 gingers and surly! Being from Minnesota, I was super happy to see these! The food is great! I got a salad this last visit in a large size and it was super filling and plentiful! Probably didn’t need to finish it all, but i gorged and did so(Salads are never good for leftovers!). I got the strawberry salad and it was perfect for a hot summer night! My friend most recently got a foot long grilled cheese and it easily could have fed us both!

Met up with some folks over at The Wicked Hop as I wanted to try one of their famous Bloody Mary’s. I was not disappointed! It was more of an experience than a drink and I loved it! The flavor of the drink itself was great and all of the garnishes and the beer shot put it over the top. We had a couple of apps with our drinks and they were very good as well. Our server was terrific and we loved sitting on the patio enjoying the people watching. All in all, they delivered a good time! Can’t forget to mention the Dick poster. We were so intrigued with it and felt it seemed a weird addition to the décor. We asked the waitress about it and her knowledge was a bit sketchy so we googled him. It seems that Dick Bacon was a true one-of-a-kind Milwaukee legend. He was well-known to anyone who ventured down to the lakefront. Spring, summer, fall or winter, Bacon could be found sitting amongst his reflectors, catching some rays and, well, bakin’ in the sun. Hence his tongs holding a stack of bacon in the photo!
