Tmj and Pain Rehabilitation Assoc

I would like mention the «extraordinary» service I recieved during my office Visit to the Dentist (TMJ & Pain Rehab Associates in Wauwatosa) on 01÷25÷16. This was my 1^st time at this office. My appointment was at 2pm, I arrived a few minutes earlier to fill out forms. The coverage & benefits were all ready verified. As usual there’s anxiety, the uncertainty and asumption of a painful experience to be expected when seeing the dentist & personnel for the first time.
However, what a delightful experience I had!!!
The personnel was courteous, friendly & attentive. The offices were clean & orderly.
I saw the hygienist (Pat). A 17 year profesional with great knowledge & expertise in the dental field. She made me feel so, comfortable and at ease thus, trusting her work and comprehensive care of my teeth. She was careful, Maticulouse and detailed in her work. Surprisingly, it didn’t hurt!
I had a «good» cleaning of my teeth. Wow!
Following my cleaning, Dr. Mack came in and explained the Xray results and followup care of my teeth. I was very pleased of the explanation and his reccomendation of further treatment. His expertise and profesional demaner said it all. I felt he was very acknowledged and now, I can definitely go back and trust my dental care in his hands. GREAT Doctor!!!

It’s an Honor to be taken care of by the best team of Dentists and assisting personnel in town. This has been by farmost, the Best experience I ve had at a dentist office.

Me: I have TMJ and have received treatment here for a few months now. I have a TMJ specialist who works with my splint as well as a physical therapist.
Travel/​the building/​the décor: The treatment center is easy to get to by bus. It is close to 76^th and Center, so you will want to look into the routes 57 (east/​west bound) or the 67 (north/​south bound). It is right behind the Walgreens on the corner. My first impression of the place is that they need to renovate it a bit. Much of the décor is out of date or just strange. What sticks out in my mind is the wallpaper. Depending on the room you’re in it could be a jungle theme, underwater, or an old abstract pattern. I find it distracting.
Some rooms are incredibly small, almost like you’re in a closet. Also, as far as I can tell, there is no elevator to the second floor where they have physical therapy. This doesn’t make sense to me, as you are most likely treating patients with difficulty moving. I don’t think it’s wheelchair accessible either. Not something I need, but for a healthcare facility with PT it strikes me as odd.
TMJ specialists: I’ve seen two so far. The first doctor I met I didn’t feel comfortable with. He did my initial assessment and we ended up on this long conversation not related to my treatment at all. It happened the second time I saw him too. So, when I ended up with one of his colleagues at my next visit I liked him better and switched.
The guy I switched to is the complete opposite of the first. It’s like a whirlwind comes through the door, works with you for what feels like 30 seconds, and then he’s gone. What I hate is that usually he’s working on my splint behind my chair while talking to me and giving me instructions. I understand that he can’t do much about working behind me, but while he’s grinding away at my splint I can’t hear or understand much of what he’s saying either. I usually end up asking him to repeat himself. I also have a slightly hard time talking to people when I cannot see their face, so that combined with the noise is very irritating. I feel very hurried through my appointment when I see him.
Either way, these two guys have big egos in their own special flavors.
Physical therapy: They do have a few very tiny rooms that they work in, but most of the «rooms» are separated by curtains rather than walls. The lighting is awful and space is limited. However, I do love my physical therapist, Emily. I would recommend seeing her for therapy. If you don’t want to see her at this location I think she also practices at another one. She is straight forward when she works with you and treats you like a human being.
Employees, overall: The supporting staff (nurses, secretaries, etc.) are all nice folks and very competent at their work.
