Beautiful fall weekend getaway stay. Mineral Point is a lovely, historic, artsy town and the MPH is right within short walking distance to the main street galleries, restaurants, and shopping. Parking is on the street, but that wasn’t an issue during our stay. The décor is impeccably stylish and comfortable. We felt like we were guests in someone’s home, not a hotel at all! Room 1840 is clean, large, and bright with a private patio off the back. The clawfoot tub was beautiful! The room is on the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet. However, there weren’t too many guests staying there during our stay so that may have had an impact on the noise level. Snacks, tea and coffee are complimentary and available 24⁄7 by the front desk. Breakfast is more like a continental breakfast, but there were a variety of grab-and go foods offered(yogurt, fruit, granola bars, breakfast cookies, candy, etc.) which was perfect since we were doing a lot of driving and sightseeing in the area anyway. The price was reasonable for a B&B hotel and check in/out were a breeze. I highly recommend the MPH!

A perfect little weekend getaway place. The room was very spacious and had a luxurious soaking tub. Complimentary continental breakfast is a real perk as well. My only warning is the rooms are more bed and breakfast than hotel like. Meaning the walls are thin and that can be an issue for some. It was fine for us because there was only one other room being reserved and it was on the other side of the hallway.

My new favourite retreat. If you need to run away, stop here and you won’t need to go further. I appreciate that the photo available is of the bathtub. It is made for lounging, as is the whole experience. From the well-stuffed beds to the simple breakfast(that does not require you to get up and dressed by a certain time but arrives at your door at an appointed hour!), I could’ve just holed up there for the entirety of the weekend. If you do want a change of scenery, you are in luck. Mineral Point is great to explore. Treasure are nestled in for you to find. Plus, American Players Theatre, Tallesin and more are all an easy drive away.

My wife and I liked this place immensely. The room(the 1840 room, that is) and bathroom are big and sunny. The bathtub is clean, and the water’s hot. Breakfast was fresh and simple, along the lines of European-style, but pared down… you get a fresh pastry, multiple varieties of fruit, juice, and high end espresso/coffee/tea. Service is attentive and unobtrusive – it is hands-off, but friendly. The best thing is the aesthetic and feel: the building, the lobby, and the rooms, are crisp, clean, neutral, and tastefully(minimally) decorated. This is the first time I remember staying at a bed and breakfast-type inn without all the doilies, dolls, farm tools, ugly wallpaper, or other rustic stuff usually encountered in Midwest small town inns. I shouldn’t fail to mention the bed was very comfortable, too. I recommend it highly.
