Business Owner

A business savvy hard working Texas gal, Regan Johnson was here from the beginning when she bought and restored this beautiful building in downtown Mineral Wells when at the time, not much was happening. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, with a Masters of Science Degree in Management and Leadership. Well, vision goes a long way to inspire people, nowadays you’ll find Regan doing a number of things around here– sometimes cooking, sometime making brilliant displays for catering, and other times designing for Perri Leavelle Design, a design group that inhabits the Bistro’s Market area. One thing’s for sure, you’ll always be met with a friendly smile and amazing service from one classy gal who will inspire you and can cook to boot!

Fun place and friendly people. You feel welcome from the minute you hit the door. I ordered the fajita stuffed avocado and it was delicious. My husband ordered the grown-​up grilled cheese and I’m not sure if I liked mine or his better they were both that good! I would come back and will be recommending to my friends.

Just finished an absolutely delightful lunch at the Brazos Market Bistro. We were passing through on our way to a funeral and didn’t expect much from the cute but small town of Mineral Wells. However, they blew us away. The ladies were warm and welcoming and excited to tell us about the menu options and their favorites and any modifications we could make. We got the fried egg sandwich and the stuffed avocado and they were better than anything we’ve had in our hometown of Austin, or any other big city. There is a cute little shop in one half of the bistro that was fun to wander around while waiting for the food, which came out quickly. You can tell the cook loves what she does and takes pride in the food she makes. We had a great lunch and, as our family lives in the Breckenridge/​possum kingdom area we will be passing through here in the future and will always make sure we can make time to stop in for a meal here. I would highly advise swinging in to this great little spot — you won’t regret it!

The staff was very helpful and kind. We are a family of 7 (5 kids) and they made us feel very welcomed… which doesn’t always happen with a family our size! Food is amazing! Grown up grilled cheese was delicious! Highly recommend trying this place out.

The restaurant itself is very clean and the people are very nice. I am not entirely sure how the menu works, because there seem to be many more options than are displayed. Either way, I ordered the «Grown Up Grilled Cheese» which simply sounded delicious. After getting it, I was disappointed. The bread was soggy and the sandwich was dripping with grease. The cheese being provolone was too mild for the sandwich to have any substantial taste — I expected the pesto to bring some flavor to the table, but it was also tasteless. Possibly one of the greasiest and tasteless sandwiches I have eaten, and I expected to love the place based on the reviews, but until I eat something with flavor… and less grease… I will have to say the bistro is just okay.

Love this place. Great food, cozy dining area, friendly service and unique shopping in restored downtown building. My favorite is the Philly Cheese steak with Ribeye. Everything is so fresh. You have to give them a try. You’ll be back!

The King Ranch Chicken casserole on Fridays is amazing. Stopped here driving through Mineral Wells on a Unilocal recommendation and wasn’t disappointed. Neat Bistro aura with great eats and market classics.
The menu is a bit limited, but what is available is obviously amazing. Good crowd in here even after the peak lunch hour.

If you like your «Philly» cheesesteak with RIBYEYE, this is the place, the tortilla soup was amazing, the chicken fajitas were so good, I meant to eat one, but the other one enticed me. First fruit salad I have had in awhile without darn apples, nothing against apples, but compared to blueberries, blackberries, watermelon and fresh pineapple, what’s an apple? And they were nice enough to deliver, amazing amazing place, can’t wait to go buy some of their scrumptious apothecaries, too. Not to be missed.

OMG — just had the leftover-​over-​from-​yesterday Chicken and Artichoke Casserole and it’s the best casserole I’ve ever eaten! My husband got the grown up grilled cheese and can stop raving about it — especially the bread. The pizzas look so good on Naan that we’re ordering two to go for dinner tonight. :-)
Gift shop has some neat and unique items — — can’t wait to try out the Belgian Chocolate-​tini mix with friends!

Making the long trip north… Austin to Minneapolis and made the very wise decision to steer clear of I-​35. Decided Mineral Wells would be a good stop for food. Rolled in Brazos Market early afternoon. We were steer to the Philly cheese steak sandwich by the owner. Fresh ciabatta bun and grilled ribeye and swiss with peppers, onions, mushrooms and some horseradish mayo. Awesomeness!
On long road trips I’ve been hesitant to stop at local restaurants because the food can be soooo hit or miss. But thanks to online review sites you can get a pretty good lay of the land.
So. Take a little extra time and get off the interstate and hit the US highway system. See some cool stuff, meet some interesting folks and eat some great food. Get away from the chain fast food places and the heavy truck traffic.
