History

Established in 2011.

Dr. Nalezny (formerly Pajak) has worked with parrots and reptiles for over 13 years. In her experience, many problems that exotic animals encounter are related to husbandry and stress and are difficult to assess in a traditional clinical setting. By visiting the patient and guardian’s home, Dr. Nalezny is able to appreciate the life and health of her patients more completely and also decrease the stress that some exotic animals may endure during transportation or in leaving their preferred environments.

Business Owner

Dr. Jaime Nalezny is a 2005 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Nalezny spent 2 years in private practice and then went on to work as a veterinarian in TX at Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation. It was there she discovered that she loved wildlife medicine as much as exotic animal medicine. After moving back to MN, Dr. Nalezny spent 2 years working at the Wildlife Rehabiliation Center.

She is currently a writer for the Minneapolis Exotic Pet Examiner, a veterinary expert on JustAnswer, and volunteers with several rescue groups. Dr. Nalezny founded The Iguana Relocation Network, is the veterinary medical director and on the board of directors for Midwest Avian Adoption & Rescue Services and donates her time to care for the flock’s medical needs.

Dr. Nalezny was inspired to become a veterinarian after meeting her first iguana, Ignardo. It is her firm belief that housecalls are necessary to give exotic pets the time and attention they deserve.
