Bradley Hanson is a professional photographer living in both Seattle, Washington and Minneapolis, MN. Bradley’s main area of concentration is wedding photography, which he approaches with a natural, fly-​on-​the-​wall style in order to create beautiful images as they unfold. He also applies this style to portraits, promotional images, live music, commercial and editorial work for a number of clients and publications.

History

Established in 1998.

I began shooting at the age of 10 with a camera I received from my parents, purchased while they lived in Germany. My immediate fascination with photography became a lifelong addiction once I had my first experience developing and printing in the darkroom as the photographer at my high school yearbook. I photographed my first wedding in Seattle in 1999, and became one of the first members of the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association). My first international wedding was in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and that began a trend that had me shooting weddings in India, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Canada, and all over the United States. I am one of very few photographers who still offers the option of film photography for it’s character, quality, romance and timeless look.

Although he is a Minneapolis based wedding photographer, he regularly travels for weddings, and has been commissioned to photograph weddings all over the world. Highly recommended!
Bradley was a pleasure to work with and my husband and I are thrilled with how he captured our wedding day. He works in a photojournalistic style, highlighting the emotion and story of the day. In that sense, he’s more oriented towards capturing how moments naturally unfold vs. telling Grandma where to stand or creating overly posed, cheesy shots. But the most impressive part of our experience was the way that Bradley really listened to us and matched his approach to exactly what we were looking for. We always felt like he «got it» and overall, he just made us feel really comfortable and confident. We wouldn’t change a single thing about the process or any of the shots. It was absolutely perfect. Bradley is the best. If you have a true appreciate for photography, his work is art at its best. He really knows how to work with all types of lighting and gets the small details you hope you remember from the day of. He is SUPER easy to work with and made everyone feel very comfortable. I would suggest him to anyone looking for a great photographer.

We had a wonderful experience working with Bradley for our July 2010 wedding and could not be happier with our photos. We met with 3 photographers and immediately knew that Bradley was the one for us. Rather than dismissing my finance’s many questions about composition and what he looks for in a frame, etc, he was genuinely excited to talk about his craft with us amateurs. On the day of, Bradley somehow managed to be everywhere taking amazing pictures while remaining entirely subtle and inconspicuous. We are completely thrilled with the results.
My *only* wish would have been to have more photos of the guests, but I would not detract a star because he was being paid to take pictures of us, and I didn’t take the time to make specific requests of him. Given the fact that we gave him no guidance at all on what we wanted to make sure to capture, I think he did a fantastic job of covering nearly all of what I would have hoped.

I was searching through my PC looking for pictures of me and/​or my husband that I actually liked. It was then I realized that the most consistent set of photos I loved were from my wedding which Bradley photographed. Rather than repeat the info — do check out his client testimonials on his website and his wedding/​photo galleries. They speak for themselves.
In all the ups and downs of the planning, and even the event itself — we look back on the wedding with great memories because that’s what the photos did for us. It recreated/​documented the event and story perfectly.
We like our «proof book» so much that we haven’t even picked/​ordered our official albums yet. And they’re paid for. And that was 5+ years ago! I think we just need to get all the pics for the families — we can’t choose!
It’s taken me 5 years to write a review — so I’m glad to do so on Unilocal.I’m going to review my awesome florist now too (Bella Rugosa). I can’t remember if I ever thanked her or Bradley!
I should note that I had an Indian-​Western fusion wedding. Bradley does both amazing black-​and-​white and color. At the time, I think he said he had never shot so many color rolls before.
We had engagement pics done by an inexpensive photographer at the same location we ended up getting married. We sent all of those into the trash. My husband and I both agree that this was the best money spent during our entire wedding.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I love Bradley Hanson. From the moment we met with him, we knew that he was who we wanted following us around and getting in our faces every time we kissed. And from the moment he showed up at my hotel as I was getting ready, I was immediately put at ease. All of the tension of waiting for the big day to happen dissolved when Brad and Mitch from Cabfare Productions (videographer, look for that review) showed up. They were so much fun to work with. I was actually sad they couldn’t stay for the whole party. And on top of being fun and easy to work with.
He’s efficient and professional and also incredibly talented. Our pictures came out better than I could have ever imagined.
Bradley was there to capture every important moment of the day. Most importantly, he managed to sneak in and catch us being ourselves. There were so many moments that could easily be swallowed up in the blur of the day, but Bradley froze them for us to revisit for a lifetime. We couldn’t be happier with our pictures.
