Brushed Monkey

I just had Donnie and team from Brushed Monkey complete a painting job on my house yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
From my first phone call to Donnie to the last painter leaving yesterday, they have been nothing short of professional and friendly. Donnie responded to my first voicemail same day and was able to give a competitive estimate within 24 hours. That weekend, Donnie then came by (free of charge) to see the space and also consult on colors. He even helped us select a brand new color for our bedroom after it became clear we weren’t in love with the original swatch we chose.
The night before painting, Donnie called me to confirm the team coming the next day. At the time there was a chance of snow /​freezing rain, so Donnie offered to add a THIRD painter to the team of two free of charge to ensure «the job didn’t run into the evening». The three painters who did the job (J.C., Andi, and a foreman) were super friendly, punctual, respectful and great at their job. They were especially patient with my ever-​eager dog who kept popping in to the rooms while they were painting.
All told, I fully recommend Donnie and the Brushed Monkey team, and definitely plan on going back to them for our next project down the road. Thanks again!

The most difficult part of any project, is finding the right people to help you execute your ideas and visions. Donnie and his team were definitely the perfect fit for our cellar ideas. From start to finish, the outcome of each area far exceeded our expectations.
Many of our requests about this project were very complicated. All areas required the highest amount of creativity. Donnie really heard what we were trying to achieve and has an extreme level of artistry and perfection, so the final outcome of each process ended up with absolutely beautiful results.
Even though a few things took more time and materials than included in our original bid from Brushed Monkey, Donnie refused our offer to adjust the bid to reimburse him for the extras.

Despite our painter doing a great job, I would NEVER recommend working with Donnie or Brushed Monkey. My job was booked the night before our painter arrived, so no information about how billing worked was discussed. I knew the painter’s hourly rate, but no further information was given. I received the invoice just 3 days ago that said due upon receipt. I have been working, traveling and busy with family and have not had the chance to pay the bill and Donnie SHOWED UP AT MY HOUSE at 10:30AM on Mother’s Day to ask for payment. I live on the complete other side of the Cities from his shop, it is a Sunday and MOTHER’S DAY. There is no excuse for this man to show up at my house and ask for payment just 3 days after sending an invoice. Completely unprofessional and borderline illegal. Do NOT work with this company.

Donnie came to the house to do an on-​site quote for our vaulted ceiling entryway. He was very knowledgeable and really spent time with us to understand what we were looking for. Although we received other quotes, we felt most comfortable moving forward with Brushed Monkey.
The project ended up taking a full day more than originally quoted and we changed the color of the paint midway through. Donnie and his team were extremely patient and understanding through this process. Pat came back the second day and put on a second coat of the color we now love — recommended AND picked up by Donnie.
Donnie stood by his original quote and we couldn’t be happier with the result. We will definitely use them for our next large painting project and recommend them to anyone looking for a painter!

At last! Having had four or five different painting companies in our house, we’ve found one to keep. Donnie came out to the house, talked through the project scope, got clarification, gave advice, and all-​in-​all was a great communicator. Re: the actual work — Inside and outside corners were done perfectly. The team cleaned up during and after the job. It took exactly as long as they said it would.
