I go here all the time. They are experts at small engines. They are a bit expensive but can get the job done.

Very bad service. Everyone has attitude. They know best customer is wrong. Extortion prices. How does the place survive? I suggest avoiding this place. They take customers for granted and seem to not care about anything. Why support such horrible service on your local community? The facility is nice. If I could I would buy the place and put in people that care. The old woman is especially embarrassing. She needs go.

This place is a cast back to the good old days when competent people fixed fixable stuff and didn’t charge an arm and a leg. I dropped my 30-​year old Toro mower off for repair and tune up. $ 150 later it’s like NEW! In this age of «green» it’s delightful that my antique Toro didn’t end up in the landfill. The only down side to Cedar repair is that they’re closed on weekends. Small matter. Their competent kind skilled service makes up for it.

I think this place depends on who you get at the counter. Saw a guy in some sort of knit cap that was red, black, and I think yellow get very rude with an older gentleman who was taken back by what the belt cost him.
I on the other hand got the same individual I have gotten on multiple occasions who was helpful and polite as always.
I’d say a toss up, I probably wouldn’t do much more than order parts from them in the future.

Brought my pretty junky lawnmower in for service and Dustin helped me at the counter. Turns out I just need some parts and they saved me a bunch of dough and downtime.
After my 20+ of customer service experience I am glad I ignored the mixed bag of reviews (the two bad ones were four years old… jeez). Great customer service, price and I am looking forward to bringing in my snowblower.

I’ve been in a few times over the last year for a chain saw, snow blower, and boat motor. They’re a no– nonsense place that knows their business.
The guy who helped me was patient with me and my complete lack of knowledge in any of that stuff. He showed me me the ins n outs of working with a chainsaw chain– changed it for me, but showed me how to do it too. And if they can’t fix it, they’ll tell you why and help direct you to someone who can.
That’s just one example. I LOVE having a neighborhood place like this. They’re small, they’re local, they employ vets, they help me fix my things. :).

Great snow blower and great service. They told me what to do it to keep it in good shape, and it has worked. They service it every summer and it works well! Local business that cares about what they do.

I want to tell you about the fabulous experience I had with Cedar Small Engine Sales & Repair. I called before I dropped off my lanw mower for a tune-​up. I was told repairs were being completed in about a week. I was greeted by three wonderful employees, one of whom got the mower out of my trunk. The young man who wrote up the work order couldn’t have been nicer. Exactly one week to the day I received a call that the repair work was done. When I came up to the desk the employee even remembered my name. The mower not only was repaired but had been cleaned and polished and looked brand new! Again two other employees came over to talk to me and one put the mower back into my car. I used to teach customer service and these employees could be my «Poster Children» for above and beyond customer service. Ignore what you may have read from two years ago, go to Cedar Small Engine and have great service and a mower that starts right up and does an outstanding job of cutting your lawn.

I really wanted to have a good experience at Cedar Small Engine, despite being warned otherwise, because they’re in my neighborhood. I’m really disappointed. I dropped my mower off to have a broken CCB shield replaced and the blades sharpened. I’m not a lawnmower mechanic, but even to me this looked like a fairly simple repair. I was told I’d hear from them in a «few days.» I called 8 days later to check in and was told the mechanic had been out (seemingly unexpectedly) and they’d gotten behind. I was advised to check back in a few days. I gave them 4 more days before calling again. Still not done — the mower seems to be on the mechanic’s bench but nobody who’s there can ascertain if it’s been worked on, if the part’s been ordered, or when it will be done (because it’s a Saturday). Call back on Monday, that’s the best they can offer.
The first guy I talked to quickly passed me off to a manager once I started to express my frustration. The manager barely listened to my concerns and mostly talked over me, telling me that he wasn’t sure how they’d gotten behind, that he has no way of knowing what the status of my mower is, and that there’s no way they have to time to call their customers whose work is running behind to give them an update. Then he told me he wasn’t going to keep repeating himself to me and that I just need to call back on Monday.
So: strike one for taking at least twice as long for my repair as originally estimated. Strike two for not being able to provide the service of notifying customers when repairs are taking so much longer than anticipated. And strike three for being unhelpful, unfriendly, and rude when I called to share my concern. You’re out.

I brought my mower in for a carb repair and tune up on May 5^th 2010 and they said it would be 1.5 to 2 weeks for it to be fixed. I finally called on May 25^th and the guy said it would be another week because they were backed up. And the kicker was he was a complete jerk about it before I could say anthing about it being longer than I was quoted. I finally picked up my mower yesterday… not even started after a month so it’s still broken! And I’m out $ 50.00 to have a service mow my lawn twice! Never use this shop!
