Club New York

Good club with nice deals. Plenty of space. Nice music selection (hip hop). VIP area could have better tables and booths. Ladies get to drink free before 11 which was cool.

So my fiancé’ and her twin decided to get the «birthday bash» for their 30^th bday. The package is to include 6 guests not the birthday person and + 6 additional guests but 6 guests total o_​o a photo shoot, cake, decorations and bottle service of course. We get there to find out that the photographer only comes on saturdays which they didn’t inform us of when we booked a friday date, we had to «ask» for the decorations which were 3 or 4 balloons and let me add they weren’t sure if they had anymore hellium o_​o so we lucked up with those few balloons I guess. Our server was very nice though she did her job well unfortunately we left without tipping her (which we felt bad about after we sobered up) because they also fail to provide the cake WTF SERIOULSY of all things they could of at least made sure they had the damn cake I mean they had a week to get this shit right. But it doesn’t end there, so they initially asked us to come pick up the cake the next day who the fuck does that? we eventually settled for a complimentary VIP which to include 2 bottles of champaign and the cake LMAO the 2^nd go round was worst than the first damn time, first of all they gave us cheap champaign o_​o our server was rude and didn’t cater to us as she should have (we did however tipped the server we had the first time) when we told a manager we weren’t satisfied with her service it just went in one ear and out the other and to top the night off the cake was super small, it came from target it cost $ 6.99 matter of fact and peep this the cake was 2 weeks old, it clearly read «best if used before April 11^th». I am so distrubed on so many levels… what you say, we should complain to the better business burea, you muthafuckin right we are WTF we paid $ 300 for this «birthday bash» don’t offer something you can’t provide and what kills me is the staff had a professional mannerism o_​o. They «act» as if they understood our frustration but produced no results just empty apologies… trust me if I could have rated them a negative star instead of the one I would have hands down.

This is a truly terrible location, the management are no where to be found when needed, and when you have a legitimate concern it is not dealt with in a professional or timely manner. To say this is a dicey location would be putting things mildly. This is a place where you will find constant fighting, very abusive and harassing security and if you should choose to go here for any special occasion as they claim they will provide for birthdays, you are better off going to McDonald’s and not getting ripped off. If I had one positive thing to say about this Club New York, it would be that no matter how terrible you might think a club was prior to going here you will soon realize that any dive would be far better than this location.
#rude staff, poor management, no enforcement of laws as far as drinking and or using or selling drugs here. I would say that if you so choose to sell drugs or are under 21 and or even under 18 and you have the money or connections this is the place to come and do whatever you want because they will not care, nor enforce any rules or regulations.

I had a great time and the VIP host went over and above more than once to make us happier than we were 5 seconds b4! We will book VIP for every big event it was great. It was great time with a super hype atmosphere.

This club is in the same building that Club «Spin» use to be at. However they don’t compare. New York is smaller, darkly lit, and just feels cramped. It tries to play like a lounge with the VIP area and a big dance floor but it fails. I can honestly say that the only time I come to this club is if I’m VIP if not it’s a waste of my time and $$$, hell even with VIP it’s a waste of my time The seating of the VIP area is just terrible
My review may seem harsh, but I remember Club Spin on Sundays it would be «Cream». Get there before the long line and you get in free plus free drinks for an hour and half. Spin was huge you could walk around, and it was always a great time if you went on a good night. Now Spin is close and now your left with this. Sure Spin was «Hood» on Sundays (Thursday night you had the hottest chicks with 18+) but you still had a couple dime pieces coming in. I’ve never been on a Sunday (nor do I care too go). If this is supposedly the best «Hip-​Hop» club Minneapolis has to offer, then were in serious trouble. It makes sense to me now why people are going clubbing in Chicago. I recently had a chick who visited from out of town tell me she went there, I felt bad for her.
Pros: Great VIP specials, 2−4−1 bottles before 11:30, decent music
Cons: Hood people, mediocre girls aka Grenade fest
