History

Established in 1974.

Concept Machine Tool Sales, Inc. was founded in October of 1974 by Frank Conlon. When the company was started, Frank possessed over 20 years of experience in the machine tool industry. Concept Machine Tool’s strategy was to secure major machine tool lines complimented by the top of the line supply items.

Concept began with four employees, occupying approximately 1,000-sq. feet. Frank Conlon concentrated his efforts on outside sales, while Arlin Stolle developed the inside sales segment of the business. Arlie’s vast knowledge of the essential role Inside Sales plays is today still representative of the core values of the department. In 1976 Frank’s son Craig Conlon began his career with the company in inside sales. By 1979, further growth of the company dictated another sales individual be added, and Craig progressed to outside sales. In 1980 the company moved to a 3,500-sq. ft. location and in 1982 moved once more to a 9,500-sq. ft. facility. Employment then stood at ten.

Craig Conlon began his career with the company in inside sales. By 1979, further growth of the company dictated another sales individual be added, and Craig progressed to outside sales.

Sadly, in March of 1990 Frank Conlon passed on and Craig Conlon assumed full responsibility for the corporation.
