I’ve never had a bad experience here. Their local delivery is top-notch, and the Ruben is amazing.

Went in for a late night coffee and walked in to a live band playing Christmas music and packed place. The energy inside was great! Most people seemed to be there for wine and beer which I thought was odd given the name of the place, but everyone was having a great time. This is definitely a place I could see spending a lot of time just hanging out, if only I lived in the area. My large mocha and slice of pumpkin bread was also fantastic, served by two very nice guys behind the counter. I’d never been in the area before and it had a very small town community feel even though it’s right there in the city.

This is a delightful place to sit around and drink a cup of coffee. I don’t frequent coffee shops due to my budget, but if I could, this would be one of the first choices. Of all of the coffee shops I’ve ever been to, this one is up there as one of the best. Everything about it is so good. The place is well-kept and maintained. It feels like an average independantly owned coffee place but better(best way I can put it). The servers are friendly. I love the ones who work there during the early evening. The coffee itself tastes yummy. I ordered mocha latte, and it’s the best. I’ve met the owner Robert. He was a cool guy and delightful to be around. I highly recommend this place to anyone! This coffee shop is fantastic!

In a town full of great coffee stops, this joint stands out. Yummy tuna melt, served open faced on toasted wheat bread.

The food is always fresh and made with QUALITY ingredients, veggies, meat, etc. I have lunch here at least twice a week and have never left feeling unsatisfied. Blueberry muffin is the best I’ve ever had, I also love the breakfast croissants, turkey & Swiss melt and the turkey wild rice soup. I work at a local clinic and when my coworkers go to lunch this is usually the chosen place. Atmosphere of people is mixed variety of young and old, hipsters and professionals. The actual café is cozy, clean, spacious, adequate sidewalk/patio space, good music playing. Staff is ALWAYS friendly and accommodating if you have special requests with your order.

First Impression: Thumbs up! Let’s do the math: Coffee shop atmosphere, patio(some sun, some shade), simple menu with some seriously LEGIT options(I had the breakfast sandwich on croissant… hit. the. spot.), drinks, pasteries = a great informal, chill spot. Notes: They got a reuban. I didn’t get it yet but my buddy did and it looked fantastic. I WILL be returning to demolish one. Shout out to all the Unilocalers on this one. Stopped here due to proximity to the Surly Trail Loppet mostly because the great reviews and suggestions.

This is by far the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had. I almost had to excuse myself to my room and make sweet passionate love to it. Sounds like an exaggeration, but barely. I will not leave Minnesota without another one of these.(Fluffiest croissant, egg, avocado, sausage, bacon and cheese)

Roses are red, Violets are blue… blahhh I feel lame already. Without as much sass and pizzazz as my last attempt to review this place, all I gotta say is that Cuppa Java got me hooked. First, the food and the drinks are all amazing. I’ve been there for more times than I dare say and I’ve yet to come across an item that I don’t like. As for the ambience, the compactness of the space helps to heighten the sense of intimacy but the windows are big enough to not make you feel claustrophobic. That combination is just the right level for me to focus on my work without losing my mind from concentrating on the screen all the time. And, yes, the people who work there are super-friendly and nice. All in all, this place rocked 5 solid stars from me.

I ordered their corned beef sandwich with a side of soup. My sandwich was very large for the price of less than $ 7 and the Italian sausage tortellini side soup was only $ 2.50. Both tasted excellent. Their bread was wonderful! I will definitely have to go back to try a baked good and one of their beverages. I would give this place a 5 out of 5, but I did not try any of their beverages or baked goods so it is still kind of hard to give them that perfect score. I have no complaints about this place the food and service were definitely what I look for when I go out for lunch.

This place was an adorable café a short drive outside of downtown Minneapolis. My friend highly recommended going, and I’m glad he did. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and conversation as we waited for our food. Some would maybe say that wait for food was too long, but I don’t mind. Good was delicious! We had a Reuben and a Rachel that we shared. They were both filling and delicious.

Cute, quaint neighborhood spot in Bryn Mawr. Stopped in last night for a glass of wine. I didn’t realize they had such an extensive menu(for a coffee shop), and read a couple reviews saying the BLT rocked so I’ll have to go back. My only suggestion for the staff is not to recommend a wine if you don’t know anything about wine. I didn’t ask for a recommendation, ordered a full bodied zinfandel, and they kept trying to talk me into Pinot Noir for some reason. Wow, I sound like a wine snob – about the closest I get to being a wine connoisseur is wanting more than $ 2 buck chuck, but never spending more than $ 15(for a bottle)!

I hesitate to write up my review of Cuppa Java, however too thankful that a friend recommended this spot for today’s lunch outing. Bryn Mawr is a neighborhood I do not frequent too often if ever. There are a handful of cute shops, and Cuppa Java is planted nicely on the busiest corner. On a Wednesday for a late lunch we easily found a table inside by the floor to ceiling windows, however there were a handful of patio tables open as well. The prices were super reasonable. My sandwich came to $ 6 with all of the options under $ 10. They also have a selection of wine and beer both having happy hour specials. My sandwich was the BLT with Pumpernickel Bread. I have never seen such thick and solid bread! The bacon was perfectly crisp, and after this sandwich I was a happy lady. My dining companion ordered the Curried Chicken Sandwich which she was also impressed with. To top this — these orders came out in a jiffy! We spent about 2.5 hours catching up and gabbing on and not once did we feel rushed. There were diners camped out at the bar, enjoying a beer and what looked to be a day-time soap opera on the big screen(adding to the nostalgia). Love it! Hoping I find another care-free day to enjoy some leisure time at Cuppa Java. Bravo.

I hadn’t realized that they offered sandwiches until I was looking at some of the reviews of local coffee shops. The Cubano is exquisite, and if it is that good then I’m going to have to come back and try their Reuben. My large skinny almond latte was perfectly prepared; nice soft mouthfeel, just a dollop of foam, hot without being scalding, although a bit lacking on the latte art. Too bad they don’t serve in a mug. The café has a corner entrance and is shaped like a triangle. Seating isn’t overly comfortable, but there is sufficient room to work. If you want a bit of privacy then there is a small table and two comfy chairs in the back apex of the triangle.

I have worked 1 mile away from Cuppa Java for the last year and this place is by far one of my favorite spots to eat and/or have coffee. Sure sometimes during the lunch rush it gets busy and there is a slight wait for your sandwich. But they make it how you want it and it tastes amazing every time. I either get the Grilled Ham & Cheese(add jalapenos, onions, bacon and avocado) or the BLT(add ham, jalapenos, onions, bacon and avocado) … My coworkers call them the Oby 1 and Oby dos, I hope they could one day make these signature sandwiches. :) Go there. It’s awesome.

Usually I don’t like to talk about my favorite spot cause then people would start going there regularly :(lol…The place is located in Bryn Mawr, it is a very cute and quiet area. The space inside is perfect. There is a flat screen tv for people to watch at the bar. There is about 12 small tables for people to do work/school related stuff. Half of this place is bright with big windows and the other half is dark toward the back area. There is a tiny room in the back where you could have intimate talk. It’s a little escape from the crowd. I would see people bringing their family here and pets, too. During the summer time you could sit outside and enjoy a nice fresh air. I almost forgot to mention about their music, old school… love it! The crowd here is 25 years and older… I think :) I enjoy their Asian Salad a lot. Big portion. They have a good selection of sandwiches with reasonably priced. They serve beer and wine, too. And make sure to check out their happy hour time for drinks. Usually I come here to get their Chai Soy. I think this place have the BEST Iced Chai Soy in the twin cities. Yes, I am addicted! Definitely way better than Kopplin in St Paul. Also, I love, love, love their Pistachio Muffin! Oh my unbelievably good! Please try them. The staff is ah-mah-zing! They are unique. I think they know me by now cause I always get the same order :) If you need cash, there is an atm machine. Also, they sell hallmark/greeting cards next to the machine. This neighborhood is very unique and that’s why I love it! Make sure to check out Trappings(men’s clothing-1926’s style) after you make a stop at Cuppa Java :) Street parking

I used to work down the street from Cuppa, and since moving I definitely miss it! Love the rueben, the cubano, their standard grilled cheese, the breakfast bagel… really most everything. Everything is super reasonably priced. I always thought of Cuppa Java like a café with real restaurant food at café prices. A lot of places would sell pre-made sandwiches at the price that Cuppa sells made-for-you sandwiches. And the cake. Don’t miss the cake. I’ve also only had great service here, and contrary to some reviews I have found their dishes to be super consistent and they’ve never been prepared for me in different ways, regardless of whether I ate there or took it to go.

Cute as can be café in quaint Bryn Mawr(a neighborhood I admittedly just discovered after living within a few mile radius for the past year). Plenty of bistro tables along the perimeter for soaking up some sun, while the inside seems cozy and work-friendly. The sandwiches seem to outshine the coffee-component of the café here. I tremendously enjoyed the veggie hummus sandwich(fresh crunchy cucumbers, red peppers, purple onions, tomatoes, sprouts, swiss cheese, and hummus on soft grainy bread). The buffalo chicken sandwich was also good, but a little heavier than I prefer(too much chicken and cheese!). Both sandwiches contained fresh, high quality ingredients on super soft bread. The service at the counter did seem a little«off»… not very cheery nor seeming too pleased to answer questions about the menu for first-timers. However, the server that delivered our sandwiches was polite and pleasant. I am happy to overlook the counter service this time, but may downgrade if it was a consistent trend.

I live just outside of Bryn Mawr, and I pass this place on my way to work every day. After quitting my second job, I’ve finally had some free time to do things like sit in coffee shops writing Unilocal reviews on my MacBook. So far, so good, Cuppa Java. A nice, small place with a pretty big variety of food, plus the normal coffee shop fare(baked goods, coffee). I’ve only gotten coffee here, but it is smooth and tasty. The staff has been friendly, and on a normal afternoon it’s pretty quiet. I’ll probably end up here a few times a week, now. It’s fun and friendly.
